Rodrigo’s point of view

I stood by the deck watching the entire time as we finally made our way to the island to dock our boat.

I was glad that no one died when we were attacked, but I just could not put my hand on everything. Who would send mercenaries?

“We are almost reaching” Michele said, coming closer to me, wrapping her hand around my arm as I gave her a weak smile.

“Hey,” I said, kissing her temple.

“No. She is looking at Khalid. Do not worry. She wouldn’t be so careless,” she assured me as I turned my head in her direction.

“I just don’t understand. Why on earth does she have to be with a man who’s…?”

“Shush” She put her finger on my mouth, smiling at me.

“She’s an adult who can make her own decisions. Being with him is her choice. Whatever happens between them is their business,” she insisted as I shook my head.
