CHAPTER 38

(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW)

I don't know how long we followed the brown color wolf in the middle of the woods but I can no longer hear the sound of those creatures, nor can I hear the screams of other students but I can feel the ground under my feet.

Finally

Raven trusts the wolf and I trust her so I keep my concerns to myself. Finally, there's hope when I see our bus on the main road ahead of us with other students panicking around it.

I whip my head to look at Raven and she also has that relieved look on her face. Then, the wolf stops abruptly and turns to look at us with his yellowish eyes that suddenly seem human when he isn't trying to kill something. Then it moves its head toward the road.

“Thank you,” Raven says, going ahead. I stand there staring at the wolf and it watches me too with a tilt of his head. The action makes me tilt my head as well.

It's fascinating how a wolf could be so human-like and even understand human language.

“Ahvi!”

Raven's loud call to my name makes me jerk
