Standing there, anger surged through me like a fierce storm. How could she do this? Who did she think she was, coming back from the dead and acting like she owned everything?

The elder told me about Megan’s meeting, how she tried to convince them. It made me even more furious.

How dare she step on the ground that my master and I worked so hard for? I gripped my dagger tighter, my knuckles turning white against its dark metal.

In my mind, I thought, “I also put in so much work, sweat, and sacrifices to claim this land.
