Chapter 73: Trouble Next door

Five and half minutes later, I was supporting James back to his apartment. My heart thundered in my chest with each step I took.

I continued to lower my head afraid that someone might see me and recognize me. James groaned out in pain. He was so heavy that my shoulders hurt from him leaning on me.

He pushed in the door with his free hand, the other had was still wrapped around my shoulder.

"We're going into that room." He pointed at a door.

I paused. "No. I don't know you and I can't go in there with you."

"Hey. I promise…. I won't hurt you. I'm already in so much pain …to even think of something like that."

"Why can't I help you with what you want right in your living room?"

"That's because the things you need to clean me up are in there."
