Chapter 35 - While we wait

Over the last week since the mayor's visit, it feels as if we’ve all been on house arrest. The only air and daylight we see is when we’re doing guard duty on the towers. In some ways I can’t complain because of the extra hours me and Zekan were now putting in, it kept me away from Ellie, not that it stopped me thinking of her though.

But, of course, today, father decided to throw another spanner in my aim to keep my distance by including me in his surprise for her.
