CHAPTER 126: Family worries

Mrs. Tonia sits in the dining room with her four daughters.

"Has Anita's number connected?" she asks Flora, who keeps dialing Anita's number.

"No, Mom. It says switched off."

"Hmph," Mrs. Tonia sighs and stares at the soup getting cold on the dining table.

"We cannot continue waiting for Anita. When she gets home, she can eat hers. Let's eat."

The dining table falls silent, as it is almost 10 PM. Just then, Flora's phone rings out as she keeps it on the dining table in front of her. Flora hurriedly drops the bowl of water she was about to use to wash her hands, stares at the caller ID, and frowns a little, thinking it might be Anita.

"Who's that?" Mrs. Tonia asks hopefully.

"It's her boss, Mom," Flora frowns as she stares at the call that ends without her picking it up.

"Maybe he's calling to find out if Anita has arrived. Pick it up first," Mrs. Tonia instructs, and Flora finally picks up the call.

"Hello," Flora speaks first.
