CHAPTER 128: New job

"Liam, but why's that? Did she resume at Blues instead?" Mrs. Juliet asks as she turns to face him.

"No, Mom. I think she traveled or something. I haven't seen her yet," Liam replies as he climbs the first flight of stairs. He sees his mother smile at him, making his heart calm, as he had thought she might look sad.

"Not to worry, son. You will get to see her, okay."

"Okay, Mom."

Liam heads back upstairs to his room and later returns downstairs to have dinner with his family. The dining table is silent as they eat in silence.

Anita stays back in the village, touring around with Alice, who shows her the village school, market, and neighborhood. She feels better as she dresses in a long brown gown and finally arrives home with Alice, and Alice's two-year-old cute daughter, Mandy, who smiles sweetly at Anita.

"Thank you for showing me around today. I hope I didn't disturb your work?" Anita asks, and Alice smiles at her.

"No, you didn't. Tomorrow is our market day, so Mama and I will
