MIKEY COLLIN P.O.V
“Tell me about this woman,” Matthew ordered. “She must be quite the lay if she brings Mikey Collins to his knees.”
Something in me felt a tick when he spoke of her as if she was an easy woman. Cassie isn’t like that. If he wasn’t my best friend, I would have punched this man in the jaw and drag his face against the floor.
“Talk about her like she’s an easy woman one more time and I will snap your neck.” I seethed.
Unfazed by my threat, Matthew replied with a grin, “Well, well, well.” His interest peaked, “This is entertaining.” He leaned back to get comfortable in his chair. “I have never seen you act this hostile over a woman.”
He ordered as if it was necessary, “I want to meet her.”
I shut that idea down real quick. Sticking my hand out in a halting motio
I was extremely excited to come to the craft fair, once I saw the pink posted flyer at school. I usually never pay attention to the board filled with a massive number of colorful flyers in the compound at the local community college I attend, but it seemed like it would be fun to attend. Which ithasbeen so far until I made the mistake of wanting to get my portrait painted. I knew it would belong, but I didn’t realize howlongit would take. This woman could easily take my picture and paint me using that, butno. It was better to paint a portrait of me when I’m here in person, instead of painting me, using a picture on her phone.
“Will youpleasecome with me?” pleaded my now very annoying best friend.Ava Abner has been my best friend since elementary. We showed up to our first day of school in kindergarten and noticed we were using the same backpack and sat next to each other at lunchtime. We’ve been close ever since that day, we’re practically sisters.I pulled my attention away from the computer screen that displayed the unfished homework that I was trying to complete, “No Ava.”“You’re going to pass up on going to one of the most popular shows ever!?” Ava asked as if the fact that I was denying her offer was ludicrous. She groaned and put her hands on my shoulders. She l
“Wow,” I whispered in awe.The place was magnificent. The building’s lobby alone was enormous. I glanced up to the ceiling, and there was a huge beautiful crystal chandelier, that looked more expensive than my outfit and tuition combined. The floor shined with white marble, and the beautiful furniture around us white, I feel I’d get it dirty if I touch it. I looked down at my feet checking to see if I had gotten the floor dirty.“I know right?” squealed Ava. She leaned closer to whisper in my ear as we walked further in. “I can’t believe how many men are here.” She winked at a man that passed her by.I laughed, “Oh my goodness Ava.”
A smug look formed on his face, “I don’t know if that’s true.” He shrugged nonchalantly, “I’ve been told my charm could melt the hearts of the coldest women.”“Well, I’m not like every woman you’ve ever met,” I sneered. This guy must be a real Casanova. I give myself a mental pat on the back for not tripping over my own feet, to sink my claws into this man. Then again, I’ve never done that before and I don’t instead start now.Especially not this guy.Surprising me, he nodded his head in agreement, “You certainly aren’t.”Was that supposed to be an insult or compliment?
Refusing to give him any more attention than I already have, I stuck my chin up and gave my attention back to the performance that started, rather than the handsome man beside me who turned out to be a cheater. My arm that was laying on the armrest between us wasn’t big enough for two people. So, when he put his left hand on mine to rest on the armrest, I scowled at him. Snatching my hand away and instead of using the armrest on the left.“Sorry,” he said in a sheepish tone. “I didn’t know it was there,” he said in a fake innocent tone.“Yeah right,” I scoffed. My hand has been sitting there for the past ten minutes buddy. I feel so bad for the woman sitting beside him. She doesn’t know that she’s
I gave him a once-over. It wasn’t hard for people to buy a fancy out and return it the next day. There are some really good actors out there that will play to get what they want. This guy could be a handsome poser for all I know. He could be some drug addict that sleeps with women then steals their money in the middle of the night while the girl is asleep. Then once they have it, they run.I narrowed my eyes, trying to hide the interest I was secretly feeling at finally being able to know his name, “What’s your name?”"Michael Collins, but my friends call me Mikey.” He answered proudly.“Mikey,” I say testing it out. I could finally put a name to the handsome face. His eyes darkened when his name passed through my lips.“Yes,” his voice hoarse. Clearing his throat, “When you see that I’m telling the truth. I deserve a reward.”“A reward?” I repeated the word,
“Cassie!” I peeked over Mikey’s shoulder and saw Ava out and waiting for me. She was scowling at Mikey, and not approving what I was doing. For all we know, he was a possible cheater. I had yet to see if he was telling the truth. Ava looked at me with a ‘what the hell are you doing talking to him look?’ clear on her face. I knew that I had some explaining to do on the way back to the dorm.My phone dinged and then started ringing drawing my attention from her. Picking it up, “Hello?” I greeted, taking a step back from Mikey after seeing how close we were.“Hi! This is Bob, your uber driver. I just pulled up to the hotel.” I looked at the car waiting for us, that matched the car on the app and spotted him stepping out.“Okay. I’ll be right there,” I replied right before hanging up. I looked at Mikey, “I have to go.”“Call me as soon as you see it,” refe
“You didn’t call me” a deep voice whispered in my ear.Startled, I screamed. Turning around, I hit the person behind me with my bottle that I held in my hand. They groaned in pain and it took me a second to realize who it had been. My heart beating fast. From both shock and the man, himself that was currently holding his face in agony. Rubbing the pain away from the bottle that I hit him with. I covered my mouth in shock. It was Mikey.“Dammit Angel!” he groaned. “You swung that damn thing at me, like Babe Ruth swinging a baseball bat.” He snapped. The bruise that was forming on his face must be hurting like hell because my bottle was a hydro flask. My eyes widened from the scolding, “In my defense, you scared me!” I snapped back. “I thought you were a stranger coming to attack me.”I am currently sitting outside at a table enjoying my meal. The last class I had for today had finishe
