Chapter 5

Seeing me curled up in a ball, my grandmother's eyes turned red. She quickly arranged for the butler to investigate. As the butler left with his team, loud noises erupted outside the front door.

I took a deep breath, wiped my tears, and looked out the window. I saw Xena and her group arguing loudly with the security guard at the door.

Scott saw me peeking out and immediately shouted. "That's her! This woman has a mental illness. She just escaped from the hospital, and she has severe violent tendencies that could greatly affect public safety!

"I'm here with doctors from the psychiatric hospital. Everyone, join me and help catch this patient and take her back to the hospital!"

With his words, the crowd of onlookers behind Xena became stirred up and started shouting as well.

"It’s terrifying that rich people hide such filth."
