 Episode 5

 Thompson Industries

Ryan's luxury car pulled up to the entrance of the sleek skyscraper, and a smartly dressed guard rushed to open the door.

         "Good morning, boss!" he said with a salute.

" Hmm" ryan nodded, handing over the keys without a word so he can park the car properly at the garage.

        

With his two hands in his pockets he walked confidently into the company.His piercing blue eyes scanned the lobby, his expression unreadable. His chiseled features and perfect jawline showed that God took his time creating him.

As he walked through the crowded lobby, employees greeted him with respectful nods and murmured 

        👥"Good morning, boss!." Ryan didn't spare them a glance, his gaze fixed straight ahead. The female employees couldn't help but blush and whisper to each other, their eyes following him as he passed.

🗣️"Wow, he's so intense today..."

👤"I know, right? That face could freeze water..."

👥"I can't believe how handsome he is, even when he's being grumpy..."

They kept talking and gushing over him till he was out of sight 

As he disappeared into the elevator, the whispers and giggles faded and the employees returned to their duties, still stealing glances at the boss who had just swept past them like a force of nature.

 The elevator doors slid open, Ryan stepped in, followed by Tyler his executive assistant who greeted him with a professional smile. "Good morning, boss."

 " Hmm"Ryan nodded, his eyes fixed on the elevator buttons. "What's my schedule for today?"

"You're free until 11am After that, you have a lunch date with miss Alex at 12 pm and..." 

"Cancel the lunch with Alex."Ryan cut him off 

Tyler's eyes flickered with a hint of surprise, but he masked it quickly. "Ah, okay boss as you wish"

Ryan didn't seem to notice Tyler's momentary reaction and asked "What's next?"

"A business party at 7 pm, sir. It's an awards ceremony for the industry's top performers," Tyler replied.

Ryan grunted, his eyes still fixed on the elevator display. "I'll be there."

The elevator doors opened on the top floor, and Ryan strode out, Tyler following closely behind.

Tyler hesitated, his curiosity getting the better of him. "Uh, boss, if I may ask, why do you want to cancel the lunch with miss Alex? This is the fifth time this month..."

Ryan's expression turned glacial, his eyes flashing with a warning. "Tyler, I don't pay you to question my decisions. Just cancel it."

Tyler's words tumbled out in a nervous rush. "Y-yes, sir, of course. But, uh, what should I tell her? She's going to be disappointed..."

Ryan paused, his gaze piercing through Tyler. "Should I tell you your job, Tyler?" he asked, his voice low.

Tyler's eyes widened, and he shook his head, laughing nervously. "N-no, no, of course not, boss. I'll handle it."

He pulled out his phone, about to dial, but Ryan's next words stopped him.

"I advise you to go meet her in person and tell her yourself."

Ryan said with a sly smile

 "It's better that way."

He said and with that, he turned and entered his office, leaving Tyler looking dumfounded and worried, his phone still clutched in his hand.

      Emily pulled up to Little Bloom Academy, helping her two children, Zander and Ash, out of the car. Ash, with her sparkling blue eyes, bounced up and down, her blonde pigtails bobbing with excitement. She made a sign "school" and "fun" to Emily, her small hands moving eagerly.

Emily smiled and signed back, "Yes, sweetie, you'll have fun! Learn lots and play with friends."

Zander, on the other hand, trudged along beside her, dragging his feet

 "Do we have to, Mom?" he asked grumpily 

Emily smiled and bent to thier level "Come on, Zander, it'll be okay! You'll make new friends and learn new things. And Ash, you'll show everyone your beautiful smile, won't you?"

Ash nodded making a "yes sign" Emily smiled at that.

"Okay, kids, first day of a new class! Be good, learn lots, and make new friends," Emily said, trying to sound cheerful.

Zander mumbled under his breath,

   "Like it's gonna be any different..."

        " Huh Zander...what did you say I didn't catch that"Emily asked

Ash hit Zander on the arm, and Zander forced a smile. "It's nothing, Mom. Let's go, Ash!" He grabbed his sister hand, and they started walking towards the kindergarten door.

Emily called out after them, "Remember, eat all your vegetables, don't fight, and study well! I love you both!"

She waved goodbye as they disappeared into the building, feeling a mix of pride and worry. She hoped Zander would find his spark in this new class, and Ash would continue to thrive despite her silence. She sighed and picked her phone to read the message from earlier.

Emily's eyes rolled as she read the message on her phone: 'Dear Miss Emily Wilson,thank you for taking the time to interview with us but Unfortunately, we will not be moving forward with your application at this time. We wish you the best of luck in your job search and hope you find a position that aligns with your skills and interests.'

She scoffed at the irony, "Best of luck? Are you kidding me? You're rejecting me and then wishing me luck? That's rich!"

Emily shook her head, feeling a mix of frustration and disappointment. She had thought she nailed the interview, but apparently not. She sighed and put her phone away, wondering what she had done wrong and what she could do differently next time.
