Haley
“Watch over them Avery. Live for me, live for them.”
A tear falls as I know this is what will break the curse. The selflessness of sacrificing my life for my mates, something no other blood red wolf has done. I may never see my children again but at least I know this will save her future. I kiss Avery’s forehead before placing my lips on his.
“Haley stop!”
I can hear Mason getting closer, but I know he is too late. I can feel my life slipping from me into Avery. I can feel him getting warmer as I get colder. Mason reaches me just as I hear Avery’s heart beat. I gladly let the darkness consume me as Avery’s eyes flutter open.
Alpha Avery
I feel a warmth spread throughout my body which I find weird since I know I am dead.&n
Alpha AveryI wake to find I am sleeping in my room and and the twins are no where in sight. I begin to panic but Dr. Sully pushes me to lay down.“Easy Alpha. You are mentally exhausted and have been out for two days. You’ve been through a lot.”“Where are my pups.”“They’re in the nursery Alpha. They are okay, your brother and his mate are looking after them. I did a check up on them and they are both growing just fine.”“I need to be there for them. Haley…. I promised Haley I would be there for them.”“Alpha. Shutting yourself in the nursery with them is not being there for them. I don’t think that is what Luna would want.”I run my hands through my hair and notice the letter on the night stand. I still haven’t opened it.“I’d suggest you read that Avery. She had something to tell you, you should listen.&rdquo
Alpha AveryIt’s been a week since Haley died and we are finally having her funeral. We had a mass funeral for all those that died and now we are all saying goodbye to our Luna. Many kids are heartbroken at the loss of their music teacher and asked if they could all play a piece during her funeral. I couldn’t deny them. Nick and Ray worked with all of them to be prepared for today.I am in the nursery getting the twins ready for the funeral. They are barely a month old, too young to lose their mother. Besides her eyes, Alina looks just like her mother and I am sure that likeness will only grow as she ages. Asher has Haley’s eyes, hair and skin tone but his structure looks like me.“Avery, are you ready,” asks Akila as she walks in.“I am ready as can be. Do you mind grabbing Alina.”“Of course.”Akila grabs Alina and looks at
Alpha Avery 10 years later…… “Daddy! Paisley!” I did as Haley asked except the moon goddess blessed me with a second chance mate when the twins turned six. It took me awhile to accept her, but she has made me happy and was so good with the twins. That is what Haley wanted. I groan as the twins burst into my room and jump on my back. I peak an eye out at them as they stare a hole into me. I can’t help but chuckle. “Daddy wake up!” I roll over, pinning them both under me and they squeal as I tickle them. “Stop Daddy, stop,” they say through their giggles. “Happy Birthday you two.” “What are we doing today,” asks Asher. “I think it’s time I took you somewhere special.” “Are you finally going to tell us about mom,” asks Alina. “Yeah sweetheart. I think it’s time you finally knew about her. Go get dressed, we needs some breakfast first.” They both rush out the door, racing each other to their rooms. I laugh at how competitive they are. Alina is so much like Haley that it makes

“Mommy please tell me a story before bed.” I have my best puppy dog eyes as I cling to my mother’s leg, begging for a story before bed. Mommy smiles at me and I know I’ve won.“Alright Haley, which one?”“The one about the Blood Red Wolf.”“That one again? Oh, alright.”Mommy tucks me under the covers and then cuddles up in bed with me as she begins to tell the story. I have heard this story several times but it’s one of my favorites.“The blood red wolf is known to bring destruction and misfortune to it’s pack along with being the very reason their mate dies. You see, the blood red wolf is cursed. The last known cursed wolf was a Luna of a wolf pack in Europe. The Alpha was strong and powerful, but not strong enough to have a blood red wolf as a Luna. He died a tragic death and the pack went into chaos without their Alpha. Some went rogue while others fled to join other packs.”“How did the Alpha die mommy?”“No one is really sure. But one thing is certain, the blood red wolf was th
Haley “Haley you are going to be late for school!” “I’m coming mom!” I slept through my alarm again. If I make mom late to work because she has to drop me off I’ll be grounded for sure. I can see from my bedroom window the bus is already pulling up, making me rush downstairs. “Bye mom! Bye Dad!” “See you after school little wolf,” yells dad. I hop on the bus and sit next to my best friend, Grace. She has beautiful, wavy chocolate brown hair with stunning green eyes. All the boys love her and sometimes I am a bit jealous. “Hey Haley, did you hear?” “Hear what?” “Jake took over his father’s position early. Alpha has cancer. Alpha Jake is going to be visiting all the schools to show off his title.” “That’s sad about Alpha Leo though, he has been a good Alpha.” “Yeah, my big brother says Jake is a jerk.” “You coming to my birthday party this weekend, yeah?” “Of course! I wouldn’t dare miss you turning eleven!” We smile as we get off the bus discussing my birthday plans. Luck
Rachel I unlock the front door to our home as I arrive for my lunch break. I am glad work is close by so I can come home for lunch and relax rather than listen to the gossip and backstabbing by other she-wolves. Being a pack accountant keeps me busy, especially with the switch in power. I worry about this pack’s future under the leadership of Alpha Jake. His father is the only one that would take us in, but it was better than staying rogue. I hear a knock at the front door and laugh to myself. Ken must’ve forgotten his keys again and is locked out. “Ken one of these days I won’t be home to let you in,” I chuckle as I open the door. I immediately bow my head in submission and wipe the shocked look off my face. “Alpha, I apologize. I thought you were my mate.” “Hello Rachel. Does Ken often lock himself out of the house?” “Yes sir. Uh…please come in.” I reluctantly open the door wider and play the perfect hostess. I am not sure why the Alpha wants to see me, but I know it can’t b
Haley I watch in horror as wild rogues break into our cabin. Wild rogues tend to lose their humanity after being in wolf form too long and kill without a second thought. My father has shifted into his wolf, Max, fighting them off to give my mother time to save me. My father is bleeding in several places as the rogues continue to sink their teeth into his skin. My mother picks me, rushing me upstairs and I watch with tears in my eyes as my father disappears from view as he cries out. My mother is emotionless as she locks her bedroom door, pushing her heavy dresser in front of it. She quickly throws my winter boots and a winter coat on me. She jumps from the banging at the door and hearing the growls from the rogues. “Haley you must run and don’t stop!” She is opening the bedroom window and ushering me out into the cold winter forest. It’s pitch black out with no moon out tonight, making it difficult to see since I do not have my wolf yet. The trees are bare of leaves and a white b
