Lux
Our plans quickly got rained out… literally. We got to Mount Olympus and before we could get started on our hike; it started to pour!
But Silas is always one to make the best out of an unpleasant situation. He grabbed me by my waist and began dancing in the rain. We both laughed hysterically as we stepped on each other’s toes and tripped over the uneven ground, but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was that we were with each other.
We got back to the pack and once we crossed the borders, we shifted into our wolves as we let them play with one another. Jax was always nervous to play rough with Kodi, but that’s all she wanted right now was to get out some pent-up energy and spend time with him.
It’s entertaining feeling your body move whenever you’re not the one controlling the movements and getting to feel Kodi’s excitement through this. She hasn’t spent one-on-one time with her mate like this in a whi
Lux I lie in Silas’s arms trying to enjoy the time we have together. It’s only a couple more hours before the full moon will rise and we will do the ritual to try to send us over to the other world. He mindlessly plays with my hair and my phone rings and without him saying who it is I already know that it’s either Kai or my dad. My dad apologized for not telling us about the Olympia Pack but said he honestly forgot it existed. He and my mom found out about it in their early days of ruling and they never had a reason to connect with them that they just forgot about it. It made sense, I wasn’t upset with him about it and I’m over being upset with Kai, life is too short to hold grudges. Silas answers the phone, “Hey Kai.”“Hey, how are you two doing?”I feel him reposition so he could look at my face and he says, “We’re good. We’re ready. Once we finish this part of the journey then we’ll get to come home.”I smile softly at the thought of it. Kai says,
SilasThe chanting of the elders was surprisingly soothing. I closed my eyes and focused on Lux, on our wolves, and on all the goals we have. We can’t achieve anything else we may want in our lives until we guarantee that Kodi and Jax will never be separated again.I can feel the transition from the real world to the other side. For a moment, it’s like I was weightless and then I could tell I was standing instead of lying down. I open my eyes and blink to try to adjust my eyes to the area, but it’s incredibly dark. Even with my enhanced vision, it is hard to see anything.I reach my hand out as I feel around for Lux and relief floods through my body when I grab a hold of her hand. She asks, “What’s going on? Do you see anything? We’ve crossed over, right?”My eyes adjust to the darkness and I say, “Yeah, we’ve definitely crossed over. But… it’s not what I would’ve expected. It’s
SilasCerberus… I don’t know how I didn’t recognize it immediately. The beast was huge and towered at least 5 foot above me and it’s three heads constantly snapping towards me or Lux was terrifying. But when her powers didn’t work on it and it swatted her away… I’ve never felt so afraid.I knew Lux was trying to use her power because her opal eyes glowed like a beacon. Kodi forced her body up and Jax immediately told her to stand down. He knew she was pushing herself too hard and she needed to be careful.I felt relief when a man’s voice said, “Cerberus, down.”My eyes searched the area and I see a glowing blue light like a giant flame. Smoke rolls off of him as he comes closer and I realize he literally is on fire and it’s so hot that the blue flames flicker all over him.He wears a suit, has a dark well-kept beard, and has a crown on his head that looked like it was a part o
SilasHades instructed us on how to get out of the underworld. After he left, it was back to the way it was, just dark and full of smoke and fog. We walked for hours before I finally saw a light and as we got closer, I could see waves and I led us toward a dock.It was beautiful, but the water looked like it went on forever. We stood hand in hand in silence as I tried to figure out what the next best step would be. I say, “This is the River Styx. We read about it, remember?”She nods, “Yeah, I remember you talking about it. “Yeah, I do. There’s no way we can swim through this, though, Lux. It goes on forever. On top of it, there are dangerous creatures in there. If we try to swim through there, that’s almost guaranteeing our death.”She hums softly as she thinks, and I rub her hand as I brainstorm how we’ll keep going. This can’t be the end of our journey. I think this adventure just has a few mo
LuxIt felt like it had been at least two days since we started following the Fates. Kodi was exhausted and I’m sure that Jax is, too, but we are all determined to keep going. We need to figure this stuff out.Suddenly, Silas’s voice is in my head as he says, “I see a boat!”Relief flooded through me and Kodi sat down, relieved that we didn’t have to keep moving. Jax walks over and rubs his face against hers and she lets out a purring sound showing how content and loved she felt by him.I hear Silas’s bones move as he shifts, and he pets Kodi’s head and said, “You’ve done good, K. Thanks for helping out in this journey. I know it took a while, but we’re about to be on a boat and we can all get a bit of rest as we head to Elysium.”I shift and ask, “But how will we know where Elysium is, Si?”He sighs and I hear his feet shuffling as he looks around an
SilasWe finally made it to the dock and I helped Lux step into the only small boat that was available. I looked around trying to see if I could spot Jude, but I have no clue what his dragon form will look like.I look out at the water and watch the waves and I’m still impressed by how clear the water looks. Lux asks, “Does it smell sweet to you? It doesn’t remind me of the ocean the way your scent does.”I smile softly as I take deep breath and I say, “Yeah, it does smell sweet. Must be something about the water over here.”She nods slowly and turns her head and I know she’s deep in thought. I take this moment just to admire her beauty.I step into the boat and run my fingers through her dark hair and say, “You’re gorgeous, you know?”She rolls her eyes making me chuckle because it’s so rare for her to do that action. She murmurs playfully, “Kiss ass.”
SilasI yawn as I wake up and I notice we’re not moving. I sit up and see our boat is now on land and Jude is nowhere in sight. We are at the base of an island and there was an enormous mountain… no, it’s not a mountain. A mountain wouldn’t have smoke billowing at the top… this is a volcano. My chest feels tight from anxiety, and I look at Lux and wonder what we should do. If I take us back out to see and we run into more aquatic creatures without Jude, we could die.Lux yawns and stretches as she wakes up. She didn’t feel me beside her, and I notice her eyebrows scrunch together in confusion and I say, “I’m right here, Lux.”She nods and moves her hair back as she asks, “What’s going on?”“We’re on an island… I haven’t seen Jude and there’s a volcano.”She chuckles softly, surprising me and says, “We just can’t catch a break,
LuxMy heart stopped and my body went cold at the mention of seeing my mother. My ears started to ring and I couldn’t focus on what was going on. Kodi is on high alert in my mind as she tries to gouge whether these men are being truthful.I can vaguely hear Silas’s voice. It sounds like he’s muffled, almost like I’m underwater, as he asks, “And how can you guarantee us that we’ll be able to see Rieka?”I can feel all the men as they look at me curiously. They know that I know they’re telling the truth. It’s just the sense that I get from them.Silas snaps, “Would you quit just looking at her when I ask you a question?”The men all chuckle at Silas’s reaction and I ask Kodi, “What do you think?”“I think… they are telling the truth. But it’s hard to know here, Lux. Things are different, our senses are dull, and almost everyone seems to have
