Lux
It felt like it had been at least two days since we started following the Fates. Kodi was exhausted and I’m sure that Jax is, too, but we are all determined to keep going. We need to figure this stuff out.Suddenly, Silas’s voice is in my head as he says, “I see a boat!”
Relief flooded through me and Kodi sat down, relieved that we didn’t have to keep moving. Jax walks over and rubs his face against hers and she lets out a purring sound showing how content and loved she felt by him.I hear Silas’s bones move as he shifts, and he pets Kodi’s head and said, “You’ve done good, K. Thanks for helping out in this journey. I know it took a while, but we’re about to be on a boat and we can all get a bit of rest as we head to Elysium.”
I shift and ask, “But how will we know where Elysium is, Si?”He sighs and I hear his feet shuffling as he looks around anSilasWe finally made it to the dock and I helped Lux step into the only small boat that was available. I looked around trying to see if I could spot Jude, but I have no clue what his dragon form will look like.I look out at the water and watch the waves and I’m still impressed by how clear the water looks. Lux asks, “Does it smell sweet to you? It doesn’t remind me of the ocean the way your scent does.”I smile softly as I take deep breath and I say, “Yeah, it does smell sweet. Must be something about the water over here.”She nods slowly and turns her head and I know she’s deep in thought. I take this moment just to admire her beauty.I step into the boat and run my fingers through her dark hair and say, “You’re gorgeous, you know?”She rolls her eyes making me chuckle because it’s so rare for her to do that action. She murmurs playfully, “Kiss ass.”
SilasI yawn as I wake up and I notice we’re not moving. I sit up and see our boat is now on land and Jude is nowhere in sight. We are at the base of an island and there was an enormous mountain… no, it’s not a mountain. A mountain wouldn’t have smoke billowing at the top… this is a volcano. My chest feels tight from anxiety, and I look at Lux and wonder what we should do. If I take us back out to see and we run into more aquatic creatures without Jude, we could die.Lux yawns and stretches as she wakes up. She didn’t feel me beside her, and I notice her eyebrows scrunch together in confusion and I say, “I’m right here, Lux.”She nods and moves her hair back as she asks, “What’s going on?”“We’re on an island… I haven’t seen Jude and there’s a volcano.”She chuckles softly, surprising me and says, “We just can’t catch a break,
LuxMy heart stopped and my body went cold at the mention of seeing my mother. My ears started to ring and I couldn’t focus on what was going on. Kodi is on high alert in my mind as she tries to gouge whether these men are being truthful.I can vaguely hear Silas’s voice. It sounds like he’s muffled, almost like I’m underwater, as he asks, “And how can you guarantee us that we’ll be able to see Rieka?”I can feel all the men as they look at me curiously. They know that I know they’re telling the truth. It’s just the sense that I get from them.Silas snaps, “Would you quit just looking at her when I ask you a question?”The men all chuckle at Silas’s reaction and I ask Kodi, “What do you think?”“I think… they are telling the truth. But it’s hard to know here, Lux. Things are different, our senses are dull, and almost everyone seems to have
SilasAs we got closer to the spirit wilds, the entire aura changed. I’m not sure how to explain it, but I felt like I should be on edge and alert. The weather got colder and as we got closer and suddenly the boat hit land.I look around for Jude and watch as he comes onto shore and shifts back into his human form and he tells me, “Be careful as you journey through here. We’ve never had living people come into the spirit wilds, so there’s no telling how they will react to you.”I get out of the boat and then help Lux down. She says, “Thank you, Jude, for the advice and helping us on our travels.”He bows as he says, “It is an honor to be of service to you, Princess. I will be back here whenever you are ready to leave.”I take Lux’s hand and we walk into the wilds. It’s interesting seeing the different spirits moving around, and I saw some spirits that seemed to walk around living a normal
SilasThis is the first spirit to actually speak to us… and it’s the spitting image of Kai. Honestly, it doesn’t even look that much older than him.Lux is oblivious to this fact as she says, “Yes, we’re looking for Rieka Hale. Could you lead us to her?”His face scrunches up as he looks around and murmurs, “You don’t belong here.”Lux heard him and says, “I know we’re not supposed to be here and we’ll be on our way soon, but I need to find Rieka Hale so if you tell us where she is then we’ll be gone soon.”“And why do you need to see Rieka?” The man’s voice sounds calm. It’s interesting seeing his demeanor after so many spirits fled at the sight of us.Lux answers simply, “She’s my mother.”He nods and a small smile appears as he says, “I know that. The resemblance is uncanny.”So is your resemblan
LuxMy stomach is in knots as we get into the boat.Jude seems anxious as he didn’t want to chat when we got back he just told us it was time to go and rushed into the water so he could shift.Silas helps get me situated in the boat and he puts his arm around me and says, “It was nice getting to see your mom.”I nod, he’s right it was. But my mind is racing and I want to contact Kai and make sure that he’s okay, but I have no way to get in contact with him.Silas breathes out and says, “I’m sure everything is fine, Lux.”I shake my head as I say, “What could she have to be sorry for? I don’t get it!”“Well… I have one thought of what it could be. But let’s wait till we’re further out at sea.”My face scrunches up in confusion and I ask, “What are you hiding from me?”He chuckles nervously before responding, &l
LokiThe darkness overtook me, and I couldn’t even connect with Kai anymore. I wanted to growl, but felt like I was unable to. But then her voice appeared to me and it sounded crystal clear, “Loki? Are you here?”“Kodi?” I call out in a confused tone. She responds, “Yeah, it’s me.”I can only hear her voice and it’s interesting seeing how life is for her each day. This complete darkness is eerie and uncomfortable for me, but for her, it must be one of the most natural things. I ask, “What’s going on?”“Lux and Silas are in the spirit world still, but we discovered something and knew we needed to get in contact with you and Kai so we can warn you about it.”Goddess, we can’t handle something else going wrong. I huff, feeling exasperated as I ask, “What’s going on?”“Lux and Silas have reason to believe that you might be a hybrid.”
Silas It’s quiet as I wait to see if Lux and Kodi can make the connection to Kai. I wish we could be there in person to talk to him about this. I’m sure it’s going to be a hard pill for him to swallow. What I don’t understand is- how is Lux still Alpha King Archer’s biological child while Kai is Leviticus Adams kid? I start to doze until I hear a sharp intake of breath and I look over to see Lux shaking her head as she’s trying to focus and get back to herself. I grab her hand and ask, “Are you okay, Lux?”She nods her head and says, “Yeah, I’m fine. Just weird… Kodi crossed over though.”She stops talking for a moment and has a thoughtful face as she’s listening to whatever Kodi is telling her. Lux says, “Loki said that Kai already knew about the hybrid thing. Some vampires showed up to the pack house saying that they want him to be their ruler because he is Leviticus Adams son and Leviticus was supposed to rule, but he died. And… my dad left after he
