VESTA'S POV

The clinking of forks against plates filled the air, a melody accompanying our dinnertime banter. Dom, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, speared a piece of glistening grilled fish and held it hostage above my plate.

"Alright, Lila," he drawled, his voice thick with mock seriousness, "confess. You snuck some extra sugar into these yams again, didn't you?"

I swatted his hand away, letting out a peal of laughter. "Dom, you wound me! You know I wouldn't do something so barbaric." I winked, my voice dripping with playful sarcasm. "Besides, you secretly love them."

He grinned, the playful glint in his eyes intensifying. "Alright, alright, you got me. But only because they pair so well with your ridiculously delicious coconut rice."
