CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

ALEXANDER

I walked out of my room. I was still having a hangover from the stress of the previous night. I didn't blink an eye the previous night. I ended up rolling on my bed until around four a.m. I woke up about an hour plus later and dressed up for work.

I met a few cleaners in the sitting room doing their job.

"Morning, sir," they bowed in front of me.

I smiled at them and nodded my head.

"Did my woman leave for work already?" I asked them.

They exchanged glances before one of them responded.

"Not yet," she replied. "She hasn't stepped out from her room today."

I nodded.

I walked into the kitchen and met everyone busy trying to make breakfast.

"Helen," I called on the head maid.

She walked towards me and greeted me. Others also greeted me. I waved at them and turned to her.

"Do not serve my breakfast," I told her. "I don't feel hungry. "

Her mood changed immediately. There was this sadness in her eyes. I understood perfectly.
