CHAPTER SIXTY THREE

SALLY

I walked into my room and stood in the middle of the room with my phone in my hand.

"Why haven't you been at work?" Mr Clarence questioned.

I rolled my eyes.

"I was out of town," I responded.

I noticed someone walking in the compound and rushed towards the window. I opened the curtain and stood there, watching.

Beverly walked out of the compound dressed in simple clothing. I stared at her until I could no longer see her.

Something in my gut told me that Beverly was up to something. I thought of following her, but I immediately decided against it.

"You should be at work tomorrow," Clarence informed me. "We have a very important meeting to attend to."

I sighed deeply.

"Of course, I will. I'm back in town."

I let go of the curtain immediately when we hung up. I sat on my bed and placed both hands on my knees.

Beverly was obviously up to some mischief. Although I didn't pick up her conversation earlier, I heard her say, "It's not yours."
