Chapter Seven

***Three years later***

"Can't you get a simple thing done?" The staffs heard their boss roar from his office. The little assistant ran out in a hurry whilst trying to hold onto the files she was given. It had been this way ever since his return. He was know to be more ruthless than ever.

Kai hissed at the migraine he was having.

Since his return to his country, as well as his company, thing had taken a drastic turn. He fired a few executives, managers and departmental heads but got bored at the fact that they won't reveal who sent them. Stealing the company's secrets wasn't as simple as stealing a baby's toy. He had placed them in a place where not even his parents knew with a high level security. He knew within himself that the real traitor was beside him.

He  rested his back on his chair and massaged the area because his brows. These three years had been hell. He had worked none stop with two aims in his head. One was to sniff out those traitors and the other was to forget about Anita. While the later was more difficult, he had spent his time reviving himself and using his reputation to cover up his weakness. He melted into his chair like a defeated king and thought back to that day.

***Three years ago***

The door was pushed open with force but it wasn't loud enough for Anita who was experiencing a excruciating orgasm. Kai looked at the Intruders and he didn't need anyone to tell him that it was time to go. Time to leave this carefree, peaceful and warm life he was living. It was time to face the odd reality. It was time to leave her world.  A word he never knew existed. A word he had grown fun of. He looked at Hanson and the memories of his recent life with Anita nearly brought tears to his eyes. For six months, he was already due but he had procrastinated his return. Maybe because he wasn't ready to leave, or maybe he was waiting for her. Waiting for to fall in love with him. Leaving her was worse than a heart attack.

"Sir, we've come to get you"

A man  spoke, dragging him out of his memory lane. Kai recognized him as Davai, a commander in division eight. He glared at him with red rimmed eyes.

"Mr. Kai Azarel, it's a pleasure to meet you." A huge tall tanned man pushed his way through the crowd, into the house and walked towards him. The appearance of both of them in the house made the house look small. While Kai was a bit muscular and tall, he tilted to the lean side. Meaning he was nither fat not slim, but Hanson was huge. It showed his years of working in the military.

"Hanson, how did you find me?" Kai spoke after acknowledging his greeting.

"We tracked your call sir."

"My call?" Kai tilted his head in confusion.

"Yes sir"

"But I never called you." Kai tried to search his memory but didn't find an instance where he called anyone except the time when Anita had given him a cell phone. He could have sworn he didn't dial the number.

" We used a GPS tracker sir. We were able to get this location."  A voice behind Davai spoke. Davai alongside Hanson moved aside revealing a scrawny looking man wearing a lab coat. He walked towards Kai carefully.

"And who are you?" Kai asked sternly annoyed at the fact that someone interrupted his interrogation.

"It's... I'm Festus sir." He took out his right hand from his medical gloves and stretched it towards him.  It was his first time coming face to face with the "Great" Kai Azarel. Kai stared at his hand in arrogance. Festus read his look and with servile obedience, he returned his hand to his side.

Kai turned towards Hanson and continued. " you mean you tracked the device's GPS, and that led you to me?"

"Affirmative sir" Hanson responded not getting why Kai was so worked up about it.

"Shit! We need to get of here fast!"

"Sir??" Hanson was left speechless.

"Didn't you hear me?"

"We all did sir" Davai replied.

"How about the girl?" A voice spoke behind Kai, spilling dread into him. He turned towards the direction of Anita's room where he came from and thanked God he wasn't an enemy. He gave him a look that questioned how he got into the house.

"You know couz, this house isn't safe at all. A lot of route leads into it." The man replied as if reading his mind.

Kai eyed his cousin and began giving orders. He needed to leave as quiet and quick as possible.

He took out the phone Anita give him and pushed it towards Hanson.

"See if the GPS matches this one." He watched as Festus puts on the gloves and takes out a GPS machine from his lab coat.

"The rest of you, make sure this place is safe. I want her far from danger as possible."

He turned towards his cousin.

"Mathias, the girl stays here. And make sure no harm comes to her."

"I will alright, chill." Mathias replied with a smirk and fell into the sofa that could barely carry his weight.

"Man, I could never believe you'd stoop so low to live in a place like this." He commented glancing around the house and starring dead at the cockroach on the wall.

"For someone who has never know lack, I'd give you an awesome award but then again, the countryside's air is quite refreshing." If looks could kill, Mathias would have been long dead.

"Sir, we have an issue." Festus said, drawing our attention to him. "It's a burner"

"Huh? Who gave you this cell phone?"

Mathias asked and jumped up from the sofa. He walked towards them, threading carefully as if he was walking on thin ice. With his heavy boots, it was impossible not to make a sound but it seemed easy for him.

"The girl" Kai replied softly.

"Interesting!" Mathias flexed his jaws amused. "How did she get her hands on a burner phone?" Mathias asked. 'As if I knew.'

The only answer we could guess was that she wasn't as simple as we thought she was.
