Amelia stepped out of Andrew's VIP ward, feeling overwhelmed and confused. She tried to understand what had happened and why he had chosen her as his wife.
As she was pacing, lost in thought, Alexander's brother rushed towards her.
"Amelia, you need to snap out of it," he said firmly. "Alexander has left you in charge of his businesses, and if you don't take charge, everything will fall apart."
"I... I don't know if I can do this," she said, her voice shaking.
"You must rise to the challenge to save and protect everything he has built," Alexander replied.
She took a deep breath, "okay," she said resolutely. What do I need to do first?"
Alexander's brother smiled and patted her on the shoulder as they returned to her husband's VIP ward.
She walked into the room, feeling a sense of unease wash over her. She then approached the bed and saw some stack of paper and a pen her husband's lawyer had arranged on the bedside table.
"Here, Mrs. Reynolds, just sign where I've marked," Finn instructed, pointing to a line at the bottom of the page.
She took the pen, her hand shaking slightly as she signed.
"For the time being, no one must know that Andrew has a possibility of waking up from his coma," Alexander said as he turned to Amelia, his expression serious. "So we need to keep this between us for now."
Amelia nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation.
"I must leave Mrs Reynolds, but I'll be in touch." Finn said. "Here's my card; call me if you need anything." He handed her his business card as he left with Alexander."
Alexander and Finn exited the room as she gazed at her unconscious husband, her mind racing with questions.
"Why did you marry me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Who wants to kill you?"
Just as she finished speaking, the door to the hospital room creaked open, and Henry stepped inside.
Amelia eyed Henry suspiciously as he entered Andrew's hospital room.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, turning to face him, her voice stern and accusatory.
Henry didn't flinch; he met Amelia's gaze with his own steady look. "Are you forgetting I'm his cousin?" He questioned.
"I'm his cousin," he replied calmly. "I have every right to be here."
"You did this!" She blurted out as she accused him of trying to kill Andrew.
"What are you saying?" He questioned her with shock on his face.
Amelia stepped forward, her eyes blazing with anger. "I don't believe you," she spat. "I think you had something to do with this. I think you wanted to kill him!"
Henry shook his head, his expression one of disbelief. "When did you start having an interest in Andrew?" he asked. "I had nothing to do with this."
Amelia wasn't convinced. "I don't believe you," she said firmly. "His death would benefit you. All you care about is getting your hands on his properties."
Henry stepped closer, his voice low and intense. "That's not true," he said. "I had no reason to harm him. I swear it."
"I still don't believe you," Amelia blurted, looking Henry straight in the eyes.
Henry sighed, his expression serious. "Andrew is on so many people's death lists," he said. "But I promise you, I never wanted him dead. Yes, I wanted his properties, but I would never go so far as to harm him."
Henry stepped closer, his voice taking on a hard edge. "Now, answer my question. When did you start showing interest in Andrew? I thought you didn't want to marry him. Why are you so concerned about him now?"
Amelia was taken aback by Henry's sudden intensity. She took a step back, her mind racing as she tried to come up with a response.
"I-I don't know," she stammered. "Didn't you want me to marry him after all?" She questioned Henry.
Henry stepped closer to Amelia and said, "I still love you. I never stopped. I want you back, Amelia. Please."
As he leaned in to kiss her, she pushed him away, her eyes flashing with anger. "Is that all you can think of right now?" she spat out. "Your cousin is lying here unconscious, and all you can think about is trying to kiss me?"
He stepped back and said, "Don't tell me you love him." He questioned Amelia.
"You think you can just come in here and make a move on me while Andrew is lying here? Have some respect, Henry."
She turned on her heel and stormed out of the room, leaving him stunned and heartbroken. He knew he had made a colossal mistake by abandoning her at the train station the night they were to elope, and now he was not sure if he would ever be able to win Amelia back.
She couldn't believe the turn of events in her life. Tears welled up in her eyes as she remembered how Henry had abandoned her at the train station to marry his cousin, and now he wanted her back.
How Andrew, whom she barely knew, was lying unconscious in a coma, and she was suddenly in charge of his multi-million dollar businesses, and the pressure was suffocating.
As she left the hospital and stepped into the bright sun, she was bombarded by flashes from the cameras of journalists and reporters waiting outside.
She raised her hand to shield her face from the barrage of questions thrown at her.
"Mrs. Reynolds!"
"Is Andrew Reynolds dead?"
"Who wants to kill him?"
"What will happen to his empire?"
"How do you feel being married to a billionaire and going through this in under 48 hours?"
The questions were relentless, and Amelia felt overwhelmed as she tried to make her way through the crowd, covering her face from the cameras.
Suddenly, a sleek black sports car pulled up beside her. The door opened, and a man in a suit leaned out.
"Get in quickly," the man said in a firm yet gentle tone.
Amelia looked up in surprise and asked, "Who are you?" Amelia thought.
Who would have thought being married to Andrew Reynolds for just 48 would lead to so many puzzles?
Amelia's heart was pounding as she rushed towards the sleek black sports car offering her a ride. She could feel the piercing eyes of the journalists and reporters behind her, eager to get a glimpse of her and ask her questions. James Thompson was dressed in a dark suit, and wore shades that covered his eyes. Amelia got in the car. She didn't hesitate and slid into the front seat as he got back in behind the wheel.Breathless and shaken, Amelia finally turned to face him. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice trembling.James took off his shades and turned to her with a charming smile. His fair complexion and chiseled features made her catch her breath. "Where are my manners," he said. "I'm James Thompson, Andrew's business partner.""Ohhh, nice to meet you," she blurted out.Amelia's mind was racing with questions about Andrew's condition and the events that had led to the accident. But when Alex spoke again, her thoughts were interrupted."I didn't know Andrew had such a beautiful w
As Amelia entered the gates of Andrew Reynolds mansion, she was greeted by the familiar sight of the sprawling lawns and the grand entrance.Nanny Grace, Andrew's longtime nanny, was waiting for her at the door. As Amelia stepped out of the cab she ordered after she left James' apartment, Nanny Grace rushed over to greet her, concern etched on her face."Amelia, dear, how is Andrew doing at the hospital?" Nanny Grace asked, her voice trembling slightly.Amelia's heart sank at the question. "He's not doing too well, Nanny Grace. He's in a coma," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.Nanny Grace's face fell as she took in the news. "Oh dear, that's terrible news," she said, her voice choked with emotion. "We've all been praying for him here."Amelia nodded her head, grateful for Nanny Grace's support. She followed her inside, where the tantalizing aroma of dinner wafted through the air. Despite the stress of the situation, her stomach grumbled in response to the delicious smell.A
Nanny Grace pushed open the door to Amelia's room, she had come to remind her that dinner was getting cold. But forgot to knock before entering. But as soon as she stepped inside, she froze in shock. There, in the middle of the room, stood Henry and Amelia, locked in a passionate embrace. Nanny Grace could feel her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she realized that she had interrupted something that was clearly private. She was momentarily stunned and her eyes went wide with surprise.Amelia and Henry quickly broke apart, startled by Nanny Grace's unexpected intrusion, their faces flushing with embarrassment as well. Nanny Grace cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure. "I'm so sorry!" Nanny Grace stammered, her cheeks turning red with embarrassment. "I forgot to knock. I didn't mean to interrupt you, Miss Amelia."Amelia, still feeling embarrassed by the unexpected interruption, stood still and tried to smooth her robe, feeling a bit uncomfortable. Nanny Grace stood
Amelia slowly opened her eyes, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin and the softness of the sheets beneath her. She stretched her arms and legs, enjoying the comfort of her big luxurious bed. As she looked towards the window, she could see the sun shining brightly outside and hear the sound of birds chirping.Just as she was about to get up, she heard footsteps approaching her door. She furrowed her brows, wondering who could be up so early. Before she could even think about getting out of bed, there was a sudden knock on her door."Amelia, are you awake?" a voice called from the other side. She quickly got out of bed, adjusted her clothes, and made her way to the door."I'm coming," she replied, her voice still groggy from sleep. She opened the door to see Alexander standing on her doorstep. He greeted her with a smile. "Good morning Amelia, may I come in?""Sure," Amelia responded, closing the door behind him. Alexander's expression turned serious. "I'm here to talk to you ab
Amelia's heart skipped a beat. She turned around, her eyes wide with worry. She turned around to see the nurse who had been assigned to Andrew's care."Is everything okay? Has something happened to Andrew?" she asked, her voice trembling. The nurse shook her head. "No, I'm sorry to say there hasn't been any improvement."Amelia's heart sank, but at least there was still hope. "Thank you for letting me know," she said, her voice soft.As the nurse turned to leave, Amelia took a deep breath and opened the door to Andrew's room. She walked over to his bed, looking down at his still form.He lay there, so still, so silent, that it was hard to believe that he was still alive. His face was pale and peaceful, and his chest rose and fell slowly as the machines beeped in a steady rhythm. The past few days had been a whirlwind of emotions, and she didn't know how much longer she could handle the constant worry and fear.As she approached Andrew's bedside, her eyes filled with tears. She tried t
Amelia tried her best to appear calm and composed. She cleared her throat and began to speak. "As you can all see, Andrew is fine," she said, her voice steady. "He is recovering well, and we're optimistic about his prognosis."She scanned the faces of the shareholders, noting the various expressions of surprise, relief, and concern. James Thompson in particular, looked uncomfortable, and Amelia knew why. If Andrew was awake, it meant that he wouldn't be able to take over the company, at least not in the immediate future. He had been jockeying for position to take over the company in Andrew's absence.Amelia turned to Alexander, who was standing next to her and said quietly. "I need to go to the hospital." Alexander nodded, understanding the urgency of the situation. The two of them quickly wrapped up the meeting, and as they walked out of the conference room. Amelia could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on her.She and Alexander stepped into the elevator, and as the door
The door silently opened as Henry stood at the doorstep. He watched as Amelia leaned over Andrew's bed and pressed her lips to his. Seeing them kiss made his blood boil.Suddenly, he broke the silence. "I can see you're awake now," he said, his eyes fixed on Andrew.Amelia turned to face Henry, her face flushing red with embarrassment. She could feel his eyes on her. She looked down, adjusting her clothes nervously.Andrew looked at Amelia, puzzled by her sudden awkward movements. "Is everything okay?" he asked her, concern etched on his face.Amelia hesitated for a moment, "yes." She responded.Henry quickly jumped in, trying to act natural. "Yeah, everything's fine," he said, a fake smile plastered on his face. "I was just surprised to see you awake, that's all."Andrew looked at Henry, sensing that something was off. "Are you uncomfortable with me kissing my wife?" he asked, trying to clear the air.Henry shook his head, trying not to look jealous or suspicious. "No, no, of course
Andrew felt a pit of dread form in his stomach.Dr. Lee hesitated for a moment before responding. "It's too early to tell for sure. We'll need to do some tests and evaluations to determine the extent of the damage and what your prognosis is. But I won't sugarcoat it - the outlook might not be good."Andrew's shock turned into anger as he tried to process the news. "What do you mean by 'the nerves in my leg might be damaged'?" he demanded of Dr. Lee. "Why can't I feel my legs?!"In a sudden panic, Andrew ripped off his hospital bed cover and tried to stand up. He tried to get up from the hospital bed, but his legs wouldn't budge.Panic set in as he started to hyperventilate, frantically trying to move his legs. Amelia tried to calm him down, holding onto his arm, but he pushed her away in a fit of anger and fear. Desperate to figure out what was happening to him.Dr. Lee stepped forward, his voice calm and reassuring, as he placed his hand on Andrew's shoulder. "Please, Mr Reynolds, y
