Chapter 116

Andrew's nerves were frayed as he paced back and forth in the small examination room. He could feel the seconds ticking by, each one feeling longer than the last. He couldn't sit still, no matter how hard he tried.

Dr. Miller set up her equipment with a calm efficiency, seemingly unfazed by Andrew's restlessness. She watched him pace around the room, her brow furrowing with concern.

"Mr. Reynolds," she said, "can you please try to calm down? Your wife isn't running away. It's perfectly normal for patients to feel anxious in these situations."

Andrew stopped pacing, turning to face Dr. Miller with a look of confusion. "I don't understand," he said. "Why would she want to stay there forever?"

Dr. Miller gave him a sympathetic look, laying a hand on his shoulder. "This is a tough decision for both of you," she said. "But if you've both agreed on it, then there's no need to worry. We'll take good care of her."
