Perry's response was immediate. "Okay, just some clothes and some money, right?"

"Yes," Amelia replied, relief flooding through her.

Perry continued, "Can I still reach you with this line?"

"No," Amelia admitted. "Someone lended me."

Perry sighed. "Ohhh.... I'll be at the park by 7, is it fine?"

Amelia hesitated for a moment before responding. "I think it's too early, 8pm is okay."

Amelia let out a deep breath as she set the phone down on the sink. She turned to face the mirror in the restroom, her heart racing with anticipation and fear. She turned on the tap as she washed her face, trying to calm herself down.

As she rubbed her hands over her belly, a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "We're safe, baby," she whispered. "At least for now."
