Aunt May’s ashes were carried quietly in a heart-shaped ceramic urn that bore a colorful polish on the surface, as colorful as the life she had lived. The ceremony was attended by the Manning family and also the Wilsons too who had flown from New York to support Lucas.

No one was dressed in black attire as the funeral was held to celebrate Aunt May’s life instead of mourning her death. Lucas and Charlotte held hands throughout the entire cremation ceremony, looking like the most adorable couple in all of Atlanta.

Lucas Benjamin carried the ashes all the way back to Aunt May’s house, holding the urn close to his chest to feel Aunt May’s embrace one last time. He had not shed any more tears in the past three days since her death, wearing a stern look on his face all through.
