Chapter 75

It had been months since I last heard from Charlotte, and I had chosen to drown myself in work to let go of any thoughts of her. Vivian had moved out of the mansion after our fight, and I had not heard a word from her either since then. I figured that the space was great to create some boundaries between us in order to make our relationship healthier, hence, I had no regrets.

Luce had taken a break from work after our staycation in Johannesburg to nurse her ailing heart from the break-up she had experienced. I did not want to bear the burden of it as I too was a victim of the tattle online, but I still felt sorry for her.

It ached to see her eyes red every time she walked into the office, or feel ignored every time I spoke to her absent-minded figure. The break was therefore the best thing for her, and a part of me did not think I would ever see her again.
