Chapter 031

Christina’s POV

The moment I was behind closed doors, the tears slid down my cheeks. I slapped my palms over my face in an attempt to hold back the tears.

I’d been so embarrassed by my reaction to his offer that I had to walk away from him. He was allowing me to return to school. It meant so much to me and has given me the hope that my life is not lost. I could still make it work. I could find my path from where I stopped and picked up from where I left.

At first when he’d said the words, I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was a prank to rile me up, another one of his games but then I stared into his eyes and I saw he meant them. Until then, I was ready to scold him for trying to play me by suggesting school, rather than an apology for the way he reacted the previous night but then I realized he was serious about it and I didn’t know what to say.
