Christina’s POV

The car pulled through the gates of the huge estate that was the Reid family home. The property was a wide expanse of land, and the architecture was quite impressive and beautiful and I couldn’t stop staring as the chauffeur slowly rolled the car towards the garage where several other expensive cars were also parked. From the sight alone, I could tell a lot of well-known dignitaries and socialites were in attendance and I could feel my nerves rising, and anxiety settling in my guts as it began to dawn on me that I had no place here.

The Reid’s were a family of renowned billionaires, with a large business empire and conglomerate, which Scott only managed half of it. As I’ve been briefed by Aunt Eunice, her elder brother, Colton Reid, managed the other half, which was a business he began building from a very young age and had done his best to raise to the top. It was almost competing with The Ashton Reid Corp, and to think his only daughter, Adeline Reid had just gradua

Christina’s POVThis man standing before me looked so different from Scott in every aspect. From his looks, down to the warm smile on his face, and his calm and welcoming expression, he was the complete opposite of Scott. His soft brown eyes perused my face and before I could get the chance to introduce myself, he spoke up.“You must be Christina Bells,” His smile slipped a bit, giving way to a skeptical expression as though he wasn’t sure that I was the one but I nodded with a smile.“Yes, I am Christina Bells, and you must be Scott’s half-brother,”“Oh, he’s told you about me?” there was an expression of surprise on his face, and I contemplated lying to cover up for him.“Just a tiny bit,”“I see, I never expected that from him, considering we’re not the best of friends, but what can I say, family wins in the end,” We both chuckled at this.He was very warm with a good sense of humor. Some qualities that Scott lacked.“I guess it wouldn’t be wise for me to be caught in the same spac

Christina’s POVAfter Scott’s little show outside, the rest of the party went on without a hitch, as he took time socializing with some of his business partners who were in attendance, while also making contacts with new ones that were down for a business partnership. He was also able to find time to introduce me to more people as his fiancee, not minding his uncle’s earliest remarks. For the rest of the evening, when I wasn’t hanging on his arm like an arm candy and smiling at whoever showed up our way, I was with Aunt Eunice, or all by myself, trying to fit into their inner circle, without calling much attention to myself in the process. But that was a slightly difficult task as the moment he introduced me as his wife-to-be, quite several people became interested in our relationship, and in getting to know more about me.In all of this time, I never caught sight of Marvin again, and I couldn’t stop wondering if he’d heard our little exchange of words and was hurt that his brother wo

Scott’s POVI stared at her, sleeping peacefully with soft snores erupting from her lips. The dim light from the moonlight streaming in through the windows cascaded over her, highlighting her face, and her beauty. She looked like an angel, with her shoulder-length auburn hair fanned across the pillow underneath her head. Her lips were paused in a mean line and I couldn't stop myself from slightly caressing her glossy hair. It felt so soft under my touch. As usual, the few stubborn strands that were out of place and grazing against her face, I pulled them back, to tuck them in place. My gaze roved her face, fixating more on how her long natural lashes fanned her eyelids. She truly looked like a fairy. My little fairy, not Marvin’s. Mine. These thoughts brewed deep within me.I couldn’t get the image of how relaxed and unbothered she looked beside him, out of my head. I closed my eyes to sleep but it was all I could think of. The conversation they had, the lies he must have fed her, and

Christina’s POVThe moment I was behind closed doors, the tears slid down my cheeks. I slapped my palms over my face in an attempt to hold back the tears.I’d been so embarrassed by my reaction to his offer that I had to walk away from him. He was allowing me to return to school. It meant so much to me and has given me the hope that my life is not lost. I could still make it work. I could find my path from where I stopped and picked up from where I left.At first when he’d said the words, I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was a prank to rile me up, another one of his games but then I stared into his eyes and I saw he meant them. Until then, I was ready to scold him for trying to play me by suggesting school, rather than an apology for the way he reacted the previous night but then I realized he was serious about it and I didn’t know what to say.All of the pent up anger that had been brewing in me instantly dried up followed by so much joy that I couldn’t contain. I don’t care if th

Christina’s POVA smile lit up my face on seeing him and I pulled my arm out of Abby’s hold to embrace him warmly.“Hi…” I drawled, still smiling when we pulled apart. “What are you doing here?” My gaze swept over him, to take in the three-piece suit he had on. He obviously couldn’t be a student here.“What? You think I can’t be a student?” He feigned annoyance, but I swatted his chest and we both laughed.“Try another lie,”“I came to see a friend and decided to get lunch before I leave but now that I think about it, it seems the universe wanted me to meet you,” He winked at me, and I was about to respond but then I heard a throat clearing behind me and I suddenly remembered Abby.“Oh, I’m so sorry,” I turned to face her with an apologetic smile etched on my face. She smiled at me and I held her hand, ready to introduce her to Marvin. “Marvin, meet my friend, Abby, and Abby, this is Marvin Reid, Scott’s brother,”For a nanosecond, Abby’s cheerful smile slid off her face, like she cou

Christina’s POVI was still trying to gather my thoughts when he said the words again, in a clearer and louder tone. At first, I was shocked. If he was asking about Marvin then he must be aware that we met today but how did he know?I didn’t have to think for long before it came to me. Dexter, he must have told him. A wave of annoyance hit me that apart from being a personal bodyguard that I didn’t request, thereby drawing unnecessary attention to me, he was taking it too far by spying on me for Scott. When I didn’t respond, he rose to his feet and took a step forward, with a hardened expression etched on his face.“You want him,” this time, it was more of a bitter conclusion, than a question.A frown marred my face, and I tried to understand what he was getting at. I hadn’t forgotten his little tantrum the first time I met Marvin. But this? It was so out of it. I had no idea what he was getting at, or what gave him the impression that I was after his half-brother or that I may have f

Christina’s POVFor the rest of the evening, after my infuriating encounter with Scott, I remained in my bedroom, not wishing to see his face or even come across any of his workers, most especially Dexter. My heart was still heavy from how easily he’d stolen my happiness by putting me under house arrest but I should have known him by now. It wasn’t far-fetched that he’d take such drastic actions, knowing fully well that I depended on him. He wanted to control me by all means and from the very beginning I should have known that he wasn’t trying to be nice to me just to make me comfortable. It was all part of his ploy to have me under his control when he realized he couldn’t get me to fall to his will with strict orders. He decided to act nice, to lure me into it but I should be happy that I realized the truth before it was too late.Scott was a businessman and will always be one. He’d only do the things that would favor him, even if it meant putting on a facade for a while. He played m

Christina’s POVI stood by the shelves, staring at all of my favorite books one last time. My heart was heavy with sadness but I didn’t let it affect my decision. I needed to regain control of my life, and it starts with what I’m about to do. I was tired of allowing Scott to push me around. My pride wouldn’t let me submit to a man who has no regards for me. I stepped closer to the shelves, allowing my fingers to trace the books, copy after copy, as I moved along, until the end. Then my eyes landed on one of them that I hadn’t read. One that I’ve been longing to read for a long time now, and when I saw it on the shelves the very first day Scott had it installed, I was so excited to have a personal copy of my own, but sadly, I wouldn’t be able to read it now. My emotions moved me to reach for it and I did, unable to hold myself. My eyes danced around the cover and I turned it around, allowing myself the pleasure of reading just the synopsis but before I was done, a knock sounded on the

Scott’s POVThe trees and scenery around us passed in a blur as we sped down the forest road that led to Vincenzo’s home. As soon as he’d told us how to exit the property, I’d carried Christina in my arms and sped down the hallway, ready to evacuate the premises without second thoughts, or even a glance back at the unfolding chaos. At that moment, it was as though I had just one mission to take Christina to safety. Just as Vincenzo had said, the car was waiting at the back, with the engine running, and the doors opened. We got in and the driver took to the wheels, speeding out of the compound. Behind us, was another of Vincenzo’s security detail, to keep us safe.Christina was sitting across from me but I still couldn’t look at her, for fear that I might find an injury or even as little as a bruise that would show she was hurt, and bring back the ugly reality of what could have happened, if we had been just a minute late.My hand that was holding hers gripped it tightly, unwilling to

Christina’s POVTen minutes earlierI stepped out of the stall, ready to head back to the party, despite my nerves still reeling from the embarrassment of the little show Scott and I had unintentionally put on for the audience. A wry smile crossed my face as I stared at the mirror while washing my hands. My makeup was still in place and so was my hair. I playfully winked at myself and turned away, ready to head back but before I could take a step, soft moans of pleasure sailed into my ears and I was frozen in place.I stood there, silently hoping I’d heard wrong but then they came again, this time a bit louder, followed by a throaty moan. My head instantly whipped in the direction they were coming from, the first stall. It was five stalls away from where I was but that didn’t stop their moans from reaching me. I couldn’t help the giggle that slipped out of my lips but I quickly slapped a palm over my mouth to not alert them of my presence. It felt like I was in high school all over ag

Scott’s POVI took her soft lips in mine, not caring about the gloss nor the red tint of her lipstick that would stain my lips. All I wanted was to have a taste of her, to feel her warm body in my arms, the way she holds on to me like she’s holding on for dear life, while she melts into the kiss. It’s purely magical. By the time we pulled apart, she was breathless, heaving with her soft eyes fixed on mine. They were mesmerizing and I just couldn’t look away. We stood in that position, staring at each other, with one of my arms wound tightly around her slender waist, and the other resting on the nape of her neck. Her eyes darted to my lips and she chuckled lightly.“I’ll leave that as a mark to let the ladies know you’re taken,” She grinned, with gleaming eyes and I smiled, indulging her.“And I wouldn’t mind wearing your mark, my love,” I winked at her before I leaned down to claim her lips one more time. This time, a knock interrupted us, followed by the words of one of the maids.“S

  • The Billionaire's Runaway Bride   Chapter 056

Christina’s POVI woke up to a strong arm wrapped around my waist and the heat of his warm body sipping into mine. At first, I felt a bit lost until all the previous night's events began flooding into my head and I realized what I’d done. I’d given in to my desires at long last. I’d given myself to him just like he’d predicted and I’d done it without caution. I’d willingly let him plant his seed in me.With so many thoughts crowding my head all at the same time, all I wanted was to bolt out of bed and be far away from him. I needed to handle this. I had no idea what to do. Was this even in the plans? I allowed pleasure to blur the lines between what I truly wanted, my plans to escape, and giving into this sick plan of his with my father. My heart squeezed painfully at the thoughts of giving up and playing into this sick fantasy. What was wrong with me?I was only meant to put up an act for the weekend and I let him get the best of me. Now he’d be able to mock me with it. Bile rose in

Christina’s POVIt happened so fast that before I could comprehend what was going on, he’d caged me to the sink with his body pressed tightly to mine and his lips on mine. His eyes were closed with an expression of ecstasy etched on his face, as he kept kissing me. When he noticed I wasn’t returning his kisses, his eyes finally opened, and they met with mine, staring into them with his lips slightly parted, and his chest heaving from his almost silent pants.I could see the question in his eyes, and the look in them was enough to melt all of my remaining barriers. But not just that. There was something about his expression that I couldn’t put my hands on but it mirrored a deep hunger and need, one that needed to be sated urgently and the realization that it was all for me, had my lower abdomen twisting and curling with want. He looked messy but yummy at the same time, and all I wanted was to get my hands on him.He may have seen something else in my eyes from my silence because when

Christina’s POV“I’m sorry I made you feel that way,” His eyes burrowed into mine as he said the words and I could see the sincerity in them. Deep down, I truly wished he was being genuine this time. He reached for my palm that was resting on the bench and covered it with his. “I’m willing to work on myself to make things work, if you can give me another chance,”“This would be the last,” I tried to sound stern just to get him to understand and see that I wasn’t playing around.“Thank you, my lady,” He mimicked a slight bow and a smile slipped onto my face.Since our arrival, I’m beginning to see that he had a wholesome personality when he wasn’t being an asshole. So yes, maybe we could make things work and I had a good feeling about this one.“Wanna see something else?” a wry grin stretched his lips, and I narrowed my eyes at him, wondering what else there is to see in this property. It seemed we were already at the end and it definitely couldn’t get bigger than this, could it? He r

Scott’s POVI rose to my feet, took her arm in mine and led her to my side. I proceeded to plant a kiss on her temple, while still smiling. For a second, she stilled, but glanced at me with a questioning look in her eyes.“If I’d known horses would make you this happy, I’d have gotten some and built you a stable from the very first day,”She rolled her eyes as though she was calling my words a bluff and I had the slightest urge to spank her ripe ass and I did just that, feeling its softness in my arms but she gasped in shock but didn’t make any move to step away. Instead, she glanced around with widened eyes, lips popped open in surprise and a deep crimson colour of mortification on her cheeks.“You…” She tried scolding me but I winked at her and linked my fingers to her as I started towards the main building.“Where… I thought you’d take me to the stables…” she objected, refusing to move but I turned to explain.“Unless you don’t mind me reeking of dried sweat, then I’d suggest you l

  • The Billionaire's Runaway Bride   Chapter 052

Scott’s POVMy eyes are fixed on Vincenzo and Christina as I watch how well they converse like they’ve known each other forever. She does it with such ease that it leaves me wondering if I’d misjudged her in the past, regarding the case of her relations with her personal guard, Dexter, and my step-brother, Marvin. Watching her with my grandfather has made me realize she’s a natural when it comes to effortlessly relating with people. It is more like an inborn skill but it seems she lacks it when it comes to me.I nodded my head at something Vincenzo directed at me in the course of their conversation but I paid no mind to what he actually said. Thoughts of my strained relationship with Christina were all I could think about. She’s never been as kind to me with words as she’s been with others. Whenever she had to address me, there was always an air of hostility about her that kept me at bay. Although it seemed to have toned down a bit since our visit to Vincenzo, I wasn’t a fool. I under

Christina’s POV “Would you like me to help you out?” The moment I heard those words, a little gasp of surprise fled my lips and my stomach curled, causing my pussy to pulse. I wasn’t expecting him to say that. All I’d expected was a mockery for touching myself. I had expected him to make it all about himself or even make me feel less of myself but that deep guttural voice that had uttered those sinful words was far from mockery. His palm that was still on my lower stomach pressed down slightly but firmly, not moving away. It only intensified the pleasurable sensations swirling through me, and I let out a shaky breath, unsure of what to do. I was too mortified to give him an answer to his question. It felt as if I’d die if I should let him see me this way but then when I remained quiet, he spoke again. “Come on, little fairy, you want it, don’t you?” His voice was low but still audible and this time, his palm traveled downwards, resting just at the top of my core.
