Chapter Seventy Nine

“I’m home.” I heard Aziel’s voice say from the living room. He was late as the time was around past seven.

“Kitchen.” I shouted and not even a minute later, I noticed his presence in the kitchen. I was by the kitchen island chopping some vegetables when he came in so my back was to him.

“What are you doing?” He asked even though he already knew what I was going.

“Cooking,” I replied anyway. I walked over to the stove and poured the chopped vegetables into a hot pot containing some oil.

“And why are you doing that? I told you not to do anything to stress yourself.” He complained.

“And I’m not. Do I look stressed to you?” I asked as I stirred the vegetables in the pot under low heat.

“Red, I told you to tell me if you wanted anything. That’s why I hired a cook and those maids. Why do you feel the need to do their job when they’re getting paid for it already.”
