Chapter Eighty Six

I woke up around 9 am the next morning craving gelato. Then I remembered that Theo got extra for me and it was lying somewhere in the refrigerator. A huge smile broke out on my face at the thought of satisfying my cravings.

I quickly got off my bed and hurried to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a shower. I got dressed in a short armless blue dress that reached below mid-thigh. I paired my dress with a pair of black sandals and applied my daily minimal makeup. When I was satisfied with what I looked like in the mirror, I sprayed myself with my favorite perfume and headed out of the room.

I skipped to the kitchen, singing ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams under my breath. It was a beautiful happy morning after all. Perhaps I should have taken my time before walking inside the kitchen maybe my happiness would have been short-lived. The huge smile on my face turned upside down the instant I stepped into the kitchen and saw Aziel. The song I’d been singing abruptly died in my throat.
