Sofie's POV

"Fuck, no." I cursed in frustration as a guy abruptly breezed past me, causing me to drop my wallet on the floor which made everything inside it pour out on the floor.

"Hey, watch where you are going." I yelled after him but he didn't even bother to look in my direction.

Stupid brat, I seethed, darting his retreating back a glare before I averted my focus back to my wallet.

"Are you alright?" Katie asked, crouching down beside me and helping me grab my stuff from the floor.

"Yeah, I'm alright." I affirmed, getting up from the floor and dusting my wallet.

"Woah, you have a black card?" Katie gasped as I slid the plastic card into my wallet, and I just nodded in response as my thoughts strayed to Roman for the nth time that day.

It had been two days since his abrupt confession and I still couldn't bring myself to look at him because something within me thought I didn't deserve to be loved at all, much less by a handsome billionaire like him.

Roman's POV"Nana, Sofie is here to see you." I announced as I walked into Nana's hospital room with Sofie.I willed the despondence that threatened to hitch my throat as Nana tried but unfortunately failed to sit up by herself away, and went over to help her up after propping two pillows behind her back, to make her comfortable."Thank you, mio figlio." She smiled weakly as she rubbed my cheeks.I sighed heavily as I watched her frail hands beckon Sofie over for a hug; She had really emaciated a lot.I badly wanted to get mad at her for conspiring with her butler, and servants to withhold the fact that she'd been collapsing frequently from me. She had claimed she didn't want to make me worry over something intangible. She looked so thin and weak, and her extremely sickly appearance worried me so much but at least, she could still breathe on her own, to my utter relief which made me hopeful that she'd be fine again."Oh, my darling Sofie, how have you been? I hate that we're meeting

Sofie’s POV "Thanks for the hug. I really needed it." Roman muttered, withdrawing from my embrace and darting me a smile that didn't quite crease his eyes."There's no need for you to thank me, Roman. I'm always here for you whenever you need me, okay?" I said, smiling wanly at him.He just nodded before clasping his hands together, and staring into space with a melancholic mien.I sighed as I watched him. He looked so vulnerable which really broke my heart. I thought about how I had literally rejected his feelings in front of his grandmother and guilt instantly tanged my heart.I really was a jerk."Nana is the only family I have left, I don't want her to die. She can't just go like that, I won't allow that to happen. Even that means I have to bring in the best specialists from every country in the world to have a look at her. I won't mind doing so, as long as she would live." Roman suddenly said, breaking the silence."Don't worry too much about it, Nana wouldn't like that. I know

Roman's POV I was beyond smitten with Sofie. I smiled in adoration as I watched her wake up from her sleep with a loud yawn and a big stretch. "What time is it?" She yawned. "Good morning to you too." I playfully huffed before pressing a light kiss to her lips. She giggled, "Hope you slept well?" "I should be the one asking you that question, doll." I smirked as my eyes took in the image of her disheveled hair and the dark red hickeys scattered around her neck and body. As I pounded into her last night, I had yanked her by her hair while she screamed my name aloud with her back arched. I had never been more thankful for soundproofing the entire house like I was yesterday night. The lewd thoughts of the previous night drifted into my mind, causing heat to pool in my guts as I stared at her. Her face reddened as she weakly punched my chest, "Shut up." "You weren't saying that last night, doll." I teased and she made to pull herself away from my hold, with her pretty face cont

Sofie's POV"Wow, ma'am. You look really pretty in that outfit. Red is really your color." Natalie gushed as I walked down the stairs. It was the day Roman and I were going on a date.I felt really nervous because that was my first date ever, and I didn't want to mess things up.I laughed, gazing down at my outfit which consisted of a strapless red silk figure-hugging dress that stopped just above my knees, coupled with silver heels paired with a silver clutch bag. I also accessorized the outfit with the engagement ring and cartier bracelet combo while my hair freely fell on my shoulder, in brown, loose curls."You think?" I chuckled."Yes of course, ma'am. The color accentuates your beautiful, spotless skin. You are really stunning, madam Sofie. I'm sure the young master will be blown away when he sees you." She said, shaking her head as she eyed me in awe."Thanks for the compliment. It really means a lot, by the way, where is Melissa?" I asked, glancing around the room for the old

Roman's POV"Are you sure this menu is in English? Because I literally can't pronounce most of the dishes here." Sofie said, causing me to chuckle.I watched her raise the menu again with a frown etching her ethereal features,, and I couldn't help but be swooned all over again."Why are you looking at me? Is there something on my face?" She asked, placing the menu on the table."Yes, beauty. Lots of it." I casually said.Damien was right, I was really the biggest simp in the world for Sofie."Please never say stuff like that again." Sofie muttered, rolling her eyes as a waitress stopped at our table."A lovely evening to you sir and ma. I hope the ambiance is cozy enough for your comfort." She said, a business smile curving her lips upward.I nodded, "Yes, thank you.""My pleasure, sir. Are you ready to have dinner yet?" "Yes, I am." I said, "I'll have filet mignon." She wrote it down on a small jotter before averting her gaze on Sofie whose lips were wordlessly moving with a squint

Sofie's POV"You are so fucking beautiful for me, tesoro." Roman growled into the crook of my neck as I climbed onto his lap and roughly dry-humped him.My head was too far high up in the clouds of erotic delectation for me to give him a coherent response, so I just settled on moaning loudly as he bit and licked my neck.Unbuckling his belt, I freed his cock from the shackles of his pants and slowly started jerking him off. I really wanted to get down on my knees to fully take him in my mouth and have him splatter his cum over my face but whatever pleasuring thing he was doing with his mouth to my neck made the thought dissipate as I momentarily released his dick, angled my neck closer to his lips before wrapping my hands around his neck. While he trailed hickeys after hickeys down my neck, his hands strayed downward to roll my dress upward at a frustratingly slow pace; he was hellbent on teasing me until I broke."Faster please." I grunted when he finally slid his hands into my pant

Roman's POV"What do you mean the charity gala is taking place this evening?" I spat, glaring at the overtly-designed invitation card that Nathan placed on my desk."I'm sorry, sir. I brought it to your notice last week, so I thought you were aware of it, that's why I didn't call to remind you about it yesterday, sir." Nathan said, and bowed.I inhaled deeply as I massaged my forehead. "So what time exactly is it happening?""You still have about two hours left, sir. It won't begin until five in the evening and it's about fifteen minutes to three now."I groaned in frustration. "For fuck's sake, how could I have forgotten about something so damn important?"He bowed once more. "By the way, the event coordinator told me to inform you that it's compulsory to bring a plus one and since almost everyone in the country knows about your fiancée, the chairwoman instructed me to tell you to take her with you." I raised an eyebrow, "When did she tell you that?*"I just got off the phone with h

I'm just really blown away by the size of this place, you know."Roman chuckled, leaning down to press a kiss to my forehead, "This place is nothing though. You should have seen the venue of last year's gala. It was really out of this world."I shook my head as an incredulous gasp escaped my lips, "So you mean there's somewhere even more extravagant than this place?"My eyes roamed around the parking lot which had various colours of exquisite car models parked inside it. • The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée    Epilogue (Epiphany)

Roman's POV "Happy birthday, Nonna." I beamed up at my grandmother, as I watched her waddle downstairs with the aid of her walking stick. Today was her ninetieth birthday, and it also coincided with the wedding anniversary of my late parents. We had decided to celebrate in a big way to mark the successful completion of Nana's chemotherapy treatment after three whole years, and also the miraculous stoppage of the cancer metastasis. If someone had told twenty five year old me that I'd eventually learn to stop avoiding any event related to my parents, I'd have scoffed at them. I had also gotten the courage to visit my parents' graves a week ago, for the first time since I became an adult. The last time I visited them was more than a decade ago; on the day before I was to travel to boarding school in London. Back then, Nana had told me that I needed their blessing before taking any big step in life. But somehow, I had managed to put off visiting them before Sofie and I got married

Sofie's POVMy erect nipples were instantly in his face, begging for his touch, and sensual ministrations. He scooped up my boobs with a powerful hand, fondled them like stress balls, before capturing a nipple in his mouth while swiftly sliding the lingerie down my feet.Withdrawing from the kiss, he littered kisses down my stomach, along my stretch marks, and the thin, jagged surgical scar at the center specifically."Thank you." He whispered, gazing up at me.Forking my hands through his tendrils of dark hair, I beamed at him. "You're welcome."Then, he reached downward to my throbbing garden of horniness, and placed a thumb against my quivering entrance which yearned for nothing more than his cock."You're so beautiful everywhere." He whispered again before pressing a kiss to my core.Slowly and meticulously, he pried my folds apart, lapped at them like an ice cream cone before sliding his tongue inside me.Roman knew every part of me like the back of his palm; he knew my core, he

Sofie's POVI took a deep breath as I stared at my reflection in the mirror."What is going on in there, Sofie? Do you need my help?" Roman's voice wafted in from the other room. After inhaling shakily for the umpteenth time, I answered, "N-No. I'm fine. I'll be out in a few.""Alright.""Yes." I whispered to myself, as I ran my hands over my body.Over the black one-piece lingerie I had on to be exact.I had no idea what sort of spirit had possessed me to bring the wanton piece of clothing on our honeymoon. We were currently honeymooning at a private resort on a secluded island in Santorini. Regret and uncertainty filled me as I glanced at the stretch marks at the sides of my stomach.I looked so ugly and fat in the lingerie.Although I had worked hard, and literally spent up to six months in the gym after I gave birth, my body had still not gone back to what it used to look like prior to me getting pregnantAnd that made it hard for me to feel comfortable naked, whenever Roman and

Damien whispered into my ear, and I instantly whipped my head around so fast, I almost dislocated my neck.We were both standing at the altar, waiting for my beautiful bride to arrive."It's happening." I said, and he squeezed my shoulder in reassurance."And it will be fine. Everything will go well." He said, his voice tinged with conviction."I hope so." "Let me go get her. I'll be right back with your wife in a few." He winked, and clapped my shoulder before trekking out of the garden. My eyes met with Nana's elated ones, and she darted me a smile as she gently stroked her chest, as if to calm my livid nerves."You'll be fine, figlio." She mouthed, and I nodded, mirroring her smile. My heart hammered against my chest in a mix of nervousness, and excitement as the bridal entrance song played, and the onlookers stood up to watch Sofie enter the venue.Ethan was the first to waddle in which drew out loud cheers and laughters from the guests, as they all a

Sofie's POV "Are you done?" I asked the make-up artist as she began to put the beauty supplies away."Yes, Ma'am." She nodded, to which I sighed in relief before staring at my reflection in the vanity mirror. The realization that today was the day Roman and I would legally become one forever, felt real at that moment, and it caused tears to pool in my eyes.I sighed, and managed to blink my tears away before it smeared the make-up artist's hard work.I had no idea why I was crying on such a beautiful day."Oh, babe." Amy's voice wafted into my ears before I felt her hands on my shoulder. "Tears of joy, huh?"She was my matron of honor, just like how I had been her maid of honor at her own wedding.Amy had gotten married to Damien three months ago, after they had both dated for a year, in an intimate ceremony which had just their family, and close friends in attendance.Sniffling, I managed to nod in affirmation.Amy just smiled at me through the mirror. • The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée    Wedding

Roman’s POV Anxiety coursed through my bloodstream, as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. It was finally our wedding day. I was supposed to be the calm, and laid-back person between the both of us, but the panic clogging my throat begged to differ. My bowtie suddenly felt too tight for my liking while my hands felt cold yet clammy at the same time. Heaving a deep sigh to calm my tense nerves, I glanced down at the time, before sipping cold air through my teeth. We were currently in one of my bequeathed mansions in California. The wedding was going to take place at a garden nearby, which was dedicated to my parents' memory. It had also been a day since I last saw Sofie, and three hours since I last saw Ethan. Nana had mentioned something about it being bad luck if I saw my fiancée on the night before our wedding. Of course, I didn't believe in superstitions like that but I knew better than to argue with her. "You can do this, Roman. There's no need to fret over your we

Sofie’s POV A YEAR LATER"What do you think of this place?" Roman asked, as we strolled into a building inside The Eiffel tower.Yeah, you read it right. We were at the le jules verne restaurant, which was situated in the super-imposing, historical structure.I had graduated from college a week ago, and Roman had brought me to Paris for a vacation. It was the first time since I gave birth that I was away from Marcus, and I badly missed my son.I knew he would definitely be well looked after by his great-grandmother, and her staff, but a feeling akin to guilt still tugged at my heart.Earlier that day, Roman had even facetimed his grandmother at my request, so I could see him, but it still didn't feel enough in the slightest.I guessed that was what motherhood did to someone. You are never really at peace, if your child isn't with you."Cara mia, are you okay?" Roman asked, pulling out a chair from beneath the table.I faked a smile, "I'm alright, babe. Why do you ask?""You've been s

Nathan replied, from the other end.Afterward, I ended the call.A knock came on the door, just as I was to continue reviewing the pile of documents on my desk. One of my staff walked in, and bowed. "Lunch is ready, sir. Would you like me to bring your meal here?"I shook my head in negation, as I set the documents aside, and made for the door."Where is Sofie?" I asked, as I made my way to the dining room."Ma'am Sofie is waiting downstairs, sir."I just hummed in response, as I ambled down the flight of stairs. My lips automatically gave way for a wide grin, on seeing Sofie. She was already sat at this dining table, and was leisurely refolding the napkins."Have you been waiting too long, cara mia?" Today was my appointment date, and initially, I had thought I was going to be the more nervous between the both of us. But Roman had proven me wrong with how paranoid, and jumpy he had been since the day began. It was the first time he was following me to an appointment, since he was discharged from the hospital, five weeks ago. Wrapping an arm around my waist, he gazed down at me, and said. "I guess I'm just being paranoid over this appointment. The last time I felt like this was when I had to take college entrance examination." My face dissolved in a soft smile, before I tiptoed to pull him into a warm hug. "You'll be fine," I muttered. "It's just an examination to ascertain our baby's
