Roman’s POV

The conversation that had just transpired between Sofie and I felt surreal—in a very horrible way.

I couldn't believe everything she had said.

I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that she was trying to figure out my own feelings for me. I mean I didn't expect her to grant me her forgiveness, and take me back with open arms when I confessed my feelings to her, but I wasn't expecting her to tell me to my face that she couldn't reciprocate my feelings either.

I mean, what else was I supposed to deduce her insistence that I wasn't in love with her as? I balled my hands into fists as I trekked into my office, and saw the cause of the problem sitting comfortably on the desk like she didn't just ruin everything between Sofie and I.

I didn't utter a word to her as I spoke into the intercom, "Send security in here right now. There is a nuisance in my office."
