I heaved a deep breath as I slipped my hand into Roman's warm one and he helped me out of the car.

"You seem tense, baby, are you alright?" He asked, wrapping his arm around my waist, his eyes oozing with warmth and affection as they stared into mine.

I shook my head even though I felt nervous as hell at the thought of being in a large, shiny room with wealthy men and women from all walks of life.

I had no idea what I was supposed to do as Roman's plus one.

"I'm okay. I'm just really blown away by the size of this place, you know."

Roman chuckled, leaning down to press a kiss to my forehead, "This place is nothing though. You should have seen the venue of last year's gala. It was really out of this world."
