[Third-Person POV]
"That's not funny, Cattleya." Jaxson spoke out in a heavy tone as his eyes returned to the road with a straight face. "You don't understand.""Oh, what?" Cattleya uttered in a high tone, giving Jaxson a sarcastic expression flashed on her face, with one of her eyebrows raised. "You think I don't understand the life of being popular with so many people dying to take photos of you whenever you go out? Of course, Cattleya Santos never experienced being popular because she is an ordinary girl married to a famous man.”Their bodies both moved forward as Jaxson abruptly pushed the car break, halting the car from moving in the middle of the road with no people around and only tall grasses around them."You know what, I don't want to argue about this anymore. I already said I'm sorry. I already told you the reason why I said that and I admit that I am the one wrong here." Jaxson breathed heavily as he contained his emotions and tried to keep his tone down. "Cattleya, we just fixed this, and now you're turning any other normal conversation into a screaming match."Cattleya stares at Jaxson eyes for seconds before shifting her gaze away outside of the window crossing her arms on her chest with a deep sigh.Jaxson looked at her and waited for what she would say but Cattleya remained silent so he just moved his attention to the steering wheel and started the car. Jaxson was confused when it failed to start as a crease began to build up on his forehead."Come on," he muttered before trying to start the car again. "Fuck!" He screamed loudly at the same time as he hit the steering wheel when it still didn't move.Jaxson stormed out of the car and left Cattleya inside to see what had caused his car to stop suddenly. Jaxson saw that the cause was a bad spark plug.He immediately took out his phone to call a repairman while Cattleya got out of the car to see what was going on."What just happened?" He asked Jaxson who almost threw his phone into the air because of the search for a signal."There's no signal for me to reach someone to fix the car. It's impossible to run again. I don't know how to fix a car." He said while still not stopping searching for a signal on his phone."Oh, great! Can’t this day be any worse?” Cattleya said with a feigned smile on her lips causing Jaxson to grimace as he looked at her."I am trying. It might be a worse day for you, but for me? I want to enjoy this day. So can you please try to be a little considerate and not to be bossy and being mad all the time?” The annoyance can be seen in the tone of Jaxson's speech to Cattleya with a scowl in his face before he left her and walked back to the car to get his bag.Jaxson slammed the car shut and then walked away."Is this how you do it all the time?" Cattleya asked in a high tone that stopped Jaxson's steps. "Do you expect me to follow you and say, 'Sorry Jaxson I won't do it again please don't be mad at me.' Like how every staff member just keeps their job?"Jaxson's jaw moved as he walked fiercely to Cattleya with a glint in his eyes. "That's not true.""Really?" She said, mocking him. "Name one of your staff that is not Gunther.""Well—" Jaxson stammered. "Well, there's Ben."Cattleya snickered, keeping her eyebrows raised. "You just made that up." She stepped forward as she raised her eyes, moving closer to Jaxson without averting their gaze towards each other. "See? You don't even remember any of those people that worked for you. You get what you want, just say the word. You have everything in this world. You can travel anywhere, anytime. You have thousands of people who are willing to do everything for you because you are a Jaxson Madrigal!” She said boldly before walking past him."People like you are not real."Cattleya stopped walking as she felt Jaxson's hand on his wrist. Her eyes rolled up as she moved her head backwards, annoyed."What do you mean? Because… I am real.” Jaxson almost said in a mumble as he stared at Cattleya's eyes intently."When was the last time you remember yourself walking in the rain, holding your own umbrella?" She asked with her eyebrows raised, giving him an untamed glare.Jaxson was stunned and he couldn't find the right word to say, trying to answer Cattleya's question. His mouth hung open, hesitating the words he would say."That's all that I'm saying." Cattleya swiftly shoves Jaxson out of her way.“Wait, I… I uh–” Jaxson chased after her again but tripped over a large rock which caused her to be out of balance and then fell into the grass where there was a large lake. "Cat!" he screamed for her help.Cattleya immediately turned to where Jaxson was standing just now to see what happened because he got worried with his voice sc
[THIRD-PERSON POV]"Hmm," Jaxson grumbled. "I wonder what fact I could share..."Cattleya let out a weak giggle while glimpsing at Jaxson as he move his finger to his chin, tapping it as he tilted his head upwards. His eyes narrowed a bit as his lips were pursed."Maybe I could share that I have a lot of cars that I have no choice but to make a separate house for them?" He raised both his brows as he put his gaze back to her."Oh, please, Jax. Don't be ridiculous." Cattleya shook her head as she kept on giggling.“But that's all nothing but fact. If you don't believe what I said, I can show them all to you once we get back to the city for you to see it yourself. I have a plenty of them. I will let you decide on a car you like for your driver to use as he sends you to your academy.”Cattleya put up one of her brows as her lips twitched showing him a dubious look. "Seriously?”“Yes. You can be excited about it.” Jaxson replied with a proud grin on his lips which quickly faded after hear
Thanksgiving Day11.24.22[Cattleya's POV]It has been five months ever since what happened in Richard's grandmother's villa. When we got back in the city, I learned to understand Jaxson better as well as how he chose his words. I also became protective of his food like I said. I can't help but to always laugh whenever I remember how we got home. After maybe ten minutes of walking from the lake, Mr. Greg and his friends, who are one of Richard's grandmother's friends and also live in his house. They ride on big horses. When they saw us walking, they were surprised because they said we still had a long way to go before we reached the gate where we could leave their village. We told them that we abandoned the car and now we have no choice but to walk because there seems to be no one to ask for help especially since the phone has no signal and there are no people passing by. They looked at each other as if trying to have a conversation with their eyes before they agreed to carry us to th
(Cattleya's POV)I was stunned because of what Gunther just told me. I know that since Daniella Yves is involved again, the chance for Jaxson to just let me do whatever I yearn for is very low. It's already difficult to gain his trust just so he can allow me to do the influencer thing, being a student, and to be his wife, all at the same time.Still, I won't just give up on Gunther's really encouraging words, and will nevertheless push to the limit of my luck and wish for the best.I took a bottomless whiff to assemble fearlessness in my entire body as my hand gradually crept towards the doorknob. Because of how strongly I am gnawing on my lips, I could imagine it bleeding and my teeth sinking deep into my flesh."Hey.." I greeted Jaxson softly and unhurriedly entered his office here in the mansion. It's a good thing that he's still awake till this hour because I was a little late coming back from the hotel where I was with Finn.I tiptoe to minimize making any noise because I don't w
"What are you doing here?""Joining my wife in his little party, I guess?"I jumped back in shock because I didn't realize that Jaxson was already here and he found me on the balcony.“Well, you shouldn't be here. Come on, Jax. Look around. There's no people that can see us. You can stop acting.” I said with a tone of annoyance as I gently pushed his chest away from me.Jaxson can stop pretending in front of me. He can just stop by fooling other people, and not include me. I know he's been dying to mingle with Daniella at this time. Well, too bad for them because I don't think that the people are gonna leave any time soon now."What do you mean pretending?""Oh please," My eyes rolled up as I turned sideways to not face.[“Catcat? Hello? Who are you talking to?”]My attention returned to my phone when I heard Charles' voice from it. I haven't answered the call yet and my brother is still on the other line and can hear what we are talking about."Hello? It's just someone I know. I'll c
"You are seriously so immersed by your acting, aren't you?" I pushed Jaxson hard and gave all the strength left in my body to push him and he was far away from me."I am." He said with a giggle. "Why are you being so cheeky to me suddenly?" He asked before taking a seat next to me. We were only a few inches away from each other so I moved back a little to catch my breath.I can't answer Jaxson's question directly. He pretty sure knew very well why I have been acting so distant to him ever since I saw Daniella in his office. I just don't want to meddle with whatever it is that they are doing. If they are still having an affair behind all of this, sure they can. Even if I honestly dislike them for doing that, I don't think I should care more."What's on your mind?"I looked at Jaxson as he gently laid down next to me while I remained seated."Come on, Cattleya. You can tell me.”My eyebrows slightly raised because of the drastic change in his attitude."Why are you acting like this, Jax
(Cattleya POV)"Are you sure you're going in?"Jaxson has been repeating the same questions to me since we both got out of bed, which caused me to smile.Jaxson sleeping in the same bed with me felt more casual now than it did when we were first laid next to each other. The two of us are becoming so comfortable with one another that I am beginning to worry that I might lose the man who does nothing but cradle me in his arms every night."Don't worry about me, Jax. I've had it worse when applying for tons of jobs. This won't be easy, I am sure of that. But this is not gonna be that hard for me to ask for any personal guard. It's time for Gunther to be with his buddy for some quality time, don't you think?" I moved my eyebrows up and down to tease him before bursting into a giggle. "Seriously, I'm fine." I started to grab the doorknob to get out of the car because we had been parked in front of it for a while."Are you sure you don't want me to go in there and use my... You know. My nam
"The ruler can always change the rules." Jaxson whispered to me as he brought his lips to my ear.I was speechless at what he said because I couldn't believe that he was thinking about that. Because that only means that he is also considering keeping me on his side. It only means one thing to me, Jaxson is starting to see my presence."So... are you now going to treat me normally again after I cleared things up?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.I couldn't stop laughing because of what he said.Is it a good thing that he's actually paying attention to me more than I thought he is?"Can I at least get an answer?" Jaxson asked again that's why I just nodded as I chuckled. "It's a good thing that we understand each other. After all, you will be living with me starting from now. And there's no way that I'm going to sleep on the sofa again.""I never told you to do that." I defend myself. "I didn't know you were sleeping on the sofa. I always wake up later than you so I really have no idea.
