Chapter 88

[Third-Person POV]

"That's not funny, Cattleya." Jaxson spoke out in a heavy tone as his eyes returned to the road with a straight face. "You don't understand."

"Oh, what?" Cattleya uttered in a high tone, giving Jaxson a sarcastic expression flashed on her face, with one of her eyebrows raised. "You think I don't understand the life of being popular with so many people dying to take photos of you whenever you go out? Of course, Cattleya Santos never experienced being popular because she is an ordinary girl married to a famous man.”

Their bodies both moved forward as Jaxson abruptly pushed the car break, halting the car from moving in the middle of the road with no people around and only tall grasses around them.

"You know what, I don't want to argue about this anymore. I already said I'm sorry. I already told you the reason why I said that and I admit that I am the one wrong here." Jaxson breathed heavily as he contained his emotions and tried to keep his tone down. "Cattleya, we just fixed this, and now you're turning any other normal conversation into a screaming match."

Cattleya stares at Jaxson eyes for seconds before shifting her gaze away outside of the window crossing her arms on her chest with a deep sigh.

Jaxson looked at her and waited for what she would say but Cattleya remained silent so he just moved his attention to the steering wheel and started the car. Jaxson was confused when it failed to start as a crease began to build up on his forehead.

"Come on," he muttered before trying to start the car again. "Fuck!" He screamed loudly at the same time as he hit the steering wheel when it still didn't move.

Jaxson stormed out of the car and left Cattleya inside to see what had caused his car to stop suddenly. Jaxson saw that the cause was a bad spark plug.

He immediately took out his phone to call a repairman while Cattleya got out of the car to see what was going on.

"What just happened?" He asked Jaxson who almost threw his phone into the air because of the search for a signal.

"There's no signal for me to reach someone to fix the car. It's impossible to run again. I don't know how to fix a car." He said while still not stopping searching for a signal on his phone.

"Oh, great! Can’t this day be any worse?” Cattleya said with a feigned smile on her lips causing Jaxson to grimace as he looked at her.

"I am trying. It might be a worse day for you, but for me? I want to enjoy this day. So can you please try to be a little considerate and not to be bossy and being mad all the time?” The annoyance can be seen in the tone of Jaxson's speech to Cattleya with a scowl in his face before he left her and walked back to the car to get his bag.

Jaxson slammed the car shut and then walked away.

"Is this how you do it all the time?" Cattleya asked in a high tone that stopped Jaxson's steps. "Do you expect me to follow you and say, 'Sorry Jaxson I won't do it again please don't be mad at me.' Like how every staff member just keeps their job?"

Jaxson's jaw moved as he walked fiercely to Cattleya with a glint in his eyes. "That's not true."

"Really?" She said, mocking him. "Name one of your staff that is not Gunther."

"Well—" Jaxson stammered. "Well, there's Ben."

Cattleya snickered, keeping her eyebrows raised. "You just made that up." She stepped forward as she raised her eyes, moving closer to Jaxson without averting their gaze towards each other. "See? You don't even remember any of those people that worked for you. You get what you want, just say the word. You have everything in this world. You can travel anywhere, anytime. You have thousands of people who are willing to do everything for you because you are a Jaxson Madrigal!” She said boldly before walking past him.
