The news quickly spread to Tristan. Madine's house had caught fire and she burnt to death in her house.

He watched the police as they dropped the bad news to Nadine who quickly fell to the floor, clutching her gown. Tears rolled down her cheeks and she stared into nothingness, a scene she had seen an actress do in a movie. She practiced it very well in her room before they came to drop the news.

She was going to make Tritan believe it. However, she noticed Tristan didn't hold her. He didn't bend before her and make her feel better. No. He stared at the police man with disbelief and shock.

“Where is she?” He asked.

“At the mortuary. She is burnt beyond recognition and we had to do a DNA to identify her,” he explained.

Tristan said nothing.

“Leave,” he said.

The policeman dropped the file on the center table and walked out as instructed by Tristan. Nadine shook her head, her body trembling as she stretched her hand and picked up the files.
