Caelan glared, although with barely restrained amusement at the man that had dared barge into his office. He was already in a terrible mood and having to attend the conference that his secretary had weaseled into his schedules left a foul taste in his mouth.
The thought of having to keep up with this ridiculous sham of normalcy was more than he could bear. To his surprise though, one hour before the dreaded meeting this blonde guy had had the audacity to trample on his security team and force his way in. Caelan laughed as he stared at the heaving man in front of him, different ways of making him beg for his life flashing through his head in 3d. “Listen,” The blonde guy began as Caelan rounded slowly to his desk. “Frankly this is crazy and I honestly do not know what I am doing here.” He rushed out, and Caelan could faintly hear something that sounded remarkably like fuck you Ree from the strange looking man. “You barging in here must mean that you have something to tell me, yes?” Caelan asked amicably, his hands flicking his lighter repeatedly. He could see the moment his words registered and the man’s bright blue eyes flashed with surprise at the civility and he almost scoffed, the media had really succeeded in ruining his reputation. “Yes!” The strange man exclaimed, the blood on his knuckles shining a startling red to Caelan who had grown fond of that shade in particular. “Well go on then, my patience runs thin.” Caelan gestured impatiently, he had the fucking media downstairs and that was the only thing stopping him from carving a fucking hole in this idiot’s bumbling skull. “Uh-o-ok.” The blonde guy started, “Um here, so this might sound silly but a dear friend of mine is in grave danger and she uh, she needs your help.” The man ended with a confused grimace that interested Caelan. People made it their life mission to avoid him and everything he stood for, but apparently someone was willing to dive into danger to secure his help, it was all very curious to Caelan. “Who’s this creature that dares to seek my help?” He asked, almost leaning forward, way more curious than he would like to admit. “I am not really allowed to say,” The man stammered and Caelan was at his limits. Swinging forward, Caelan seized the poor man’s wrist and twisted it in precise, practiced motion. A sharp cry echoed through the room and his secretary promptly rapped on the door as a form of reminder not to get too violent, the media were being particularly nosy that morning. “Ow jeez!” The strange man groaned once he was released, glaring at Caelan angrily. “She said to tell you something about a sixth sin.” He breathed angrily and Caelan paused. A sixth sin? This was reminding him awfully of someone, someone who had dared to get away. “Greed,” Caelan chuckled, of course he had not forgotten, he had never been this intrigued and angry in a long time. She had swept in, no bigger than a fruit fly but with all the curves to kill and had dared to seduce him and then trick him into not only escaping with her life but with the content of his vault. He had been waiting for this, dreaming about it even, when he could finally get his hands around her neck and choke the haughtiness out of her as she begged for mercy. “T-thing is she’s going to die.” The man interrupted his pleasant dreams and Caelan’s eyes darkened drastically, the thunderstorm that erupted in his irises capable of tearing cities apart, and his poor guest could not help but flinch, perhaps seeing the madness within him for the first time that had been poorly concealed. “And who, pray tell, seeks to take my prey from me?” Caelan asked, pouring expensive wine into a cup, and the color was as blood red as his aura. “The Agency.” The man bit out, and Caelan looked even more interested now as he leaned forward, his eyes alight with entertaining fire. ~~ Reena was running out of time, if she was going to be saved then she needed to be saved now. Will had gone incognito and for reason the only company she had had for days was Willow, and Agent seemed to relish rubbing Reena’s current situation in her face. “What day is it?” Reena asked, trying to ignore the dryness of her throat and her extremely hoarse voice. To be taken to the Fold as a prisoner was one of the most dreadful things that could ever happen to an Agent. And being a woman was just the icing on the cake. “It's your third day in here,” Willow smirked and Reena sighed despondently as she sat with her head bowed. “You will be moved tomorrow,” She continued, her eyes sharp, piercing Reena through. She might have objected to that glare if she had the strength, but she didn’t, she couldn’t. “You have been defeated,” Willow observed, and Reena smirked through chapped lips. “And you have been yapping for days, is this the latest torture method?” Reena asked, a sigh escaping her lips and Willow frowned, displeasure evident in her every gesture. Soon enough Willow stormed out, and Reena could finally breathe again or so she thought as she struggled to suck in one breath after another. “Time to move Agent,” A brusque voice demanded, pulling Reena from her thoughts and she stared at him with wide eyes, her darkened pupils flickering desperately as she tried her best to understand what the fuck was really going on. “B-but i have not even been tried!” She protested angrily, trying to twist away from the unyielding grip on her hair. One thing was for sure, the Agency were being reckless, and that could only mean one thing, someone was using her to cover their tracks, using her as a fucking decoy, she could only hope Will got back in time.As She was dragged to the truck blindfolded, she knew that any attempt at fighting back would only backfire. And Reena knew her plans had failed, but it could only be because of two things, either Will chickened out of the mission she had sent him on which was highly unlikely, or he was gunned down like a dog on sight, which was frankly more believable. The previously damp and humid air began to lighten significantly, which told Reena that they were back on the highway, and she could not help but sigh in relief, afterall they were less likely to get rid of her body this way. The van finally jerked to a stop, and Reena was flung forward on her seat. The past few days without food or water had taken its tolls on her, mentally and physically. She felt weaker than ever, which increased her anxiety. “What’s going on?” She asked anxiously, the air was still light, meaning they were still above ground, and unless they had changed the location of the Fold, she knew that something was terri
"Damn, I look bad ass." Reena finally decided after evaluating herself on the floor length mirror, "As I should!" She gloated. The red dress provided by the agency was simply stunning, designed to capture attention and hold it. “Agent 13! I am going to need you at full alert for this mission, I will not have you distracted.” A voice suddenly commanded from the doorway, and Reena whirled around in surprise, resisting the sudden urge to cross her hands around her chest defensively; it would be seen as a sign of weakness.“Chief,” She tried to say calmly, hating the weak way her lips breathed out the sound. He smirked before pushing himself off the wall he had been leaning on and watching her for God knows how long.He pushed even closer till she was trapped between the mirror she had once loved and his body, his thin lips curled into a smirk and his arrogant eyes glimmered with power and lust. Running a gloved hand over the bannister, Reena tried to find comfort and inner peace as she took a deep breath and squinted in the extra dim lighting, in a way the absence of light felt like an extension of the game Reena was sure the billionaire was intent on playing with her. “You can go in.” Her escort informed her in his carefully detached voice and turned around in the next breath, leaving Reena to her fate. Pushing the door open, she lingered by the door, absolutely stunned to silence by the allure of the room within. While the entire room was startling dark from the lack of artificial light within, it was bathed in a rich silvery glow filtering in from the open window, a battle of light and darkness as the pure silver pushed the shadows back to the hedge where they hissed and promised sinful pleasures should they be set free.“You are stalling.” A smooth voice purred next to her ear and Reena flinched, wondering how he managed to sneak up on her like that, whoever he was. She was not stupid enough to think that she was safe at all, she had no illusions of safety whatsoever as she hurried over to the west wings in her louboutins that were three inches higher than what she would ever consider fighting in.Cocking the gun steadily in her hands, she advanced to the elevators that she knew would lead her to the west wing, after all she had the complete map to the entire place so getting lost was not an option.Impatiently waiting for the elevator doors to open, Reena stood a little bit to the side and out of sight, after all it was not uncommon for guards to just be waiting at the other side of the door ready to puncture her body full of holes. The ding alerted her just as the first shot rang out and buried itself on the wall in front of her, doing a quick calculation, Reena could tell that they were five in total and armed to the teeth. Unwilling to confront them at once, well aware of her limited time, she decided to go on the offensive. In a well practic
Reena trusted William so much that she was willing to go with him at that moment, if it had been anyone else, then she might have been more cautious. And William’s anxious expression was not making her feel better.“William! For goodness sake slow down!” Reena yelled after the fifth near death collision with a truck on the dark slippery asphalt.“You don’t understand.” William muttered through a clenched jaw as he ferried her across the road, only illuminated by the occasional blue streak of lightning.“Then say something! Anything!” Reena exclaimed, fed up at this point. She had no idea where he was taking her, and was beginning to regret entering the car with him at all.“I will take you to a safe house then I will explain everything.” William promised.Nothing had gone right and Reena was seriously beginning to regret accepting the mission.Swerving the car to a dirt road, William went on for awhile before slowing down in front of a what looked to be an abandoned cabin at first gla
Reena decided that she was done with hiding after days of not hearing from William. She knew that the longer she stayed away after a mission, the more likely it was for her to be in actual danger, and not the fake kind William might have dreamt up in his spare time.Zipping up her combat boots, Reena took the time to study herself. Her black leather jacket with studded details and edgy zippers paired nicely with the dark wash skinny jeans she was wearing, and damn it accentuated those curves nicely, she thought. Hurriedly packing up her hair into a messy bun at the top of her head added to the fierce, yet effortless appeal, which was what she was going for.Thanking William for knowing exactly her taste in clothes, she grabbed a dark red lipstick on her way out to complete the look. For some reason, a pair of dangerously silver eyes flashed across her vision like a razor sharp breeze of winter in the height of summer, and left a chilling wake in its path. She shook off the thought ins
