Donovan pov

I was utterly stunned when I discovered Sarah's transaction history with a nameless, faceless company. It left me questioning her judgment and how she could have been so reckless without conducting any thorough research.

As I observed her sitting by the coffee table on the floor, tears streaming down her face, I felt no sympathy. My gaze fell to the ground, unable to articulate my thoughts. All I could think about was Lana—how was she coping? What was she feeling after enduring such an ordeal?

“Donovan, please don’t push me away,” Sarah’s soft voice broke through my reverie, pulling me back from my thoughts.

“Can you please be quiet?” I snapped, my tone sharp and filled with disdain, as I rested my head in my hand, my mind swirling in chaos, with her being a significant source of my turmoil.

I watched her inch closer, her hands reaching out, and a surge of animosity washed over me. Don’t you dare come near me! I growled, my voice reverberating off the walls.
