CONFRONTATION

Sarah pov

My son's attempt to call Lana was concerning, prompting me to search through my wardrobe for a dress that would fit. I had been gaining weight, and most of my dresses no longer accommodated my growing belly. I felt self-conscious about my appearance, which only added to my confusion about what to do next. Just then, Donovan entered the room, adjusting his tie as he prepared for work.

"Sarah," he said, his gaze fixed on me, sending a chill down my spine. "What's wrong?" I feigned ignorance, trying to ignore the intensity of his stare.

"Are you going out?" he inquired.

"No, I have other things to take care of," I replied, continuing to sift through my clothes.

He scoffed and left without saying goodbye.

Whatever… I quickly grabbed a stylish dress, eager to find answers to my pressing question. How did my little Bryan manage to get Lana's number when he hadn't been able to reach either his father or me?
