Chapter 243: Elevator

The silence was deafening that even the drop of needle would be heard. The door was halfway closed and Margaux hoped that they wouldn't move until the door was finally shut.

But really, luck had never been by her side, because her hope crumbled when Leila's must have snapped out of her trance and quickly slid her shoe in between the two doors to stop it from closing completely.

Automatically, the door then opened wide again, giving the two another chance to get in. Leila was the first one to step in while grinning meaningfully at Margaux.

“Oh, it’s you two again!” she exclaimed cheerfully as though she did not expect it at all.

She looked away while her eyes were blazing in anger. She had calmed down and was already feeling better but her mood was instantly ruined by their mere presence.

“Drix, why are you still there? Come get here faster before the door closes again!” the woman said in a hurry then grabbed Hendrix’s hand and pulled him inside.
