Chapter 183: Trust

Clueless, Hendrix followed them inside the manor. But instead of seeing Margaux, it was her father who welcomed him.

“We meet again,” Don Geronimo greeted.

He nodded but he was too confused to say anything.

“Have a seat,” the old man gestured to the single sofa across him.

Obediently, Hendrix carefully took his seat. He looked at Don Geronimo with a blank expression but he couldn’t get himself to ask him.

It was very usual for him to be nervous in front of someone. He was a businessman and met different people. In fact, he was the intimidating one but for the second time he had a face-to-face with the old man, he felt like a small person who had no right to even lift his head and meet his eyes.
