Earlier, Daniel had told Alissa that the book conference in JW Mariott was a big event that every publishing company in the states and some from other parts of the world would participate in.
It was an understatement because it wasn’t just big, it was huge and Alissa could see hundreds, tons of people with a few familiar faces at sight. Celebrities take a picture with their fans while writers are on every booth doing a book signing of their own. Fans can be seen in a long queue just to see them and Alissa saw one of her favorite writers.
Alissa was sitting on the bed with her leg bend and her hand wrapped around her leg. She leans forward while watching the show played in the TV but none of the thing that she was watching isabsorbed into her mind. Her eyes drifted to the bathroom door and the sounds of water running with Daniel whistling from the inside is just too foreign to her. When she recalls the kiss that she has shared with him earlier, at the pool with no one around, she started to
Alissa and Daniel checked out the next evening after a successful meeting and deal with fellow publishers all around the states. The receptionist was talking to Daniel while Alissa sat on the waiting lounge. Sitting on the expensive sofa, she stares at him meticulously. Observing his every move, the way he speaks, smooth body language, interaction with the people around him, and how fine he looks. One doesn’t have to talk to him to know if he’s a wealthy man. His persona just spe
Alissa woke up from the sound of the door slamming. She perks up and straightens her sit when she realizes she was in front of Walton and Ross headquarters. She looks around for Daniel but he wasn’t there. When her eyes turn to the building entrance, she sees Daniel just finish speaking with the guard and enter the building. She wrinkled her forehead, odd at why they were there in th
Alissa got back to her apartment and went to Sarah’s house first. She knocks on the door while panting for air. She still feels dejected after what she had shone through earlier but the tiny footsteps heading towards her made her smile for she knew who it was. A door burst open and a deafening scream from a tiny body made her stagger back when Hope jump on her. Alissa got a good grip on her and they both laughed. “Momma! You back!” “I am, baby. I miss you so much.” “Me too, momma. Miss you a lot.” She let go and held Alissa’s hand as Hope pulls her inside. “You got pwesent fow me, momma?” Hope asks with her eyes still lingering on the hallway which leads to the living room. “A present? You wanted something, baby? I didn't know that.” Alissa act surprised when Hope’s gift is already prepared right in her handbag. They entered the living room with sounds from the kitchen of Sarah’s mother cooking dinner. Both sat on the couch with Hope looking disappointed. “I tot I wemembered.
Alissa was restless when she arrived at the office the next day. She wanted to take a break tomorrow after her trip but realized she has a bit of an unsolved issue at the office which includes her beloved boss turns husband. Or vice versa, whatever. She stood in front of the building and tap her feet a few times not sure whether to just go inside and face the music. She did make a mistake yesterday, leaving Daniel and misjudge him so badly. Well, not that bad since she didn’t get to say anything awful directly at him. Just to the people around her who were willing to listen. Entering the building, she greeted the doormen and proceed to the elevator. She stands inside the elevator, taping her feet away, and bit her lip. She was so nervous about seeing him. She couldn’t figure out how to react in front of him later. The moment she steps outside, she gave a long sigh and march forward to the office in question. She casually passed by a few workers that was very much busy and distracte
Alissa sat on the sofa on Daniel’s couch. She just stares ahead at the window, facing Daniel’s desk and shelves with the skyscraper gleaming under the sun. All her life staying in New York, she never had the chance to appreciate its beauty. In fact, she barely does anything the moment she steps into this city. It was all about finishing her study as much as she can at that age, a proper job, and a stable home for her and her daughter. They fight more than they could have fun but she di
Daniel say they have changed. Not entirely but there is a change, alright. Dinah with her once dolled up golden blonde hair is now almost covered with specks of white hair that almost made her hair platinum than the sun kissed tresses she once wear so proudly. William on the other hand was in his wheelchair. Hair no longer comb to his back and prep neatly like what 80s actors would do. He is a handsome man, no doubt but now , he looked like a sad handsome older man. A sight she would never expect to see in a million years. None of them even looked at her with disdain. It actually shocks her that they were looking at her with surprise and a hint of hope flitters in their eyes. It made Alissa felt uneasy with their eyes staring at her in the five star hotel they are currently in where Daniel took the liberty to rent for half a day. Apparently the owner is his good friend thus, explains how such thing was possible. It was a gorgeous suite with a living room, kitchen completed with a
Going home after work and meeting Dinah and William were excruciatingly tiring. It’s not a surprise. They are the kind of family that would literally steal your breath away with their air of arrogance with money that would last for more generations to come. She keeps asking herself after that. Was it right for her to somehow forgive them so easily after everything that has happened? Being a mother now, she has a daughter to think about. Unlike Alissa, Hope was able to receive the love of her grandparents and a father to cherish her, protect and spoil her with all their love.
So far, the two whole weeks Hope stayed at the Walton’s mansion; was the best week she has ever experienced. Day by day, she would meet Kinsley and she was glad that his bruises were beginning to heal, especially when she sneaked some medication from the maids who were also aware of what his father had done but didn’t seem to care that much. At least the maid, Ana was kind enough to give Hope that but made her a promise to not let anyone know or else she will get in trouble for giving a first aid kit bag and paracetamol to another 10-year-old. It did seem to help Kinsley and when Hope introduced Alissa to him, Kinsley’s father was there too and he looked concerned by how close Hope was with his son. Pretty hard to believe that the thinning hair with pot belly man who claims to be his father was even related to Kinsley. The only thing similar between them was their moss-green eyes. Alissa is suspicious of the mark on Kinsley’s face, exactly what Hope is hoping for her to see b

A/N: This is the last chapter, you guys. Thank you for being such great support all this time and I am beyond grateful to each and every one of you. The Walton family gathering was a huge affair indeed. Not only the Walton’s family was there, but socialites from all over the world were also present to meet the powerful family and Alice never thought that she would be a part of that. Even her dressed was chosen from the finest designer with the best dress available for all of the Walton’s sons and daughters. Her own was from the Atelier Versace Fall Winter 2020 Collection. A gorgeous orange dress that has an intricate back and the sparkly fabrics just made her feel like a princess. A sexy one at that. Thankfully the marks that Ryan had inflicted on her chest has faded a little and a littl
“What the fuck are you talking about? Sister-in-law? A..are you Harry’s brother?” Ryan applauds playfully and inches lower to face her. “Smart. Very smart. Yes, I am Harry’s brother. I mean, step-brother. Illegitimate, step-brother. Yeah, I was surprised as you are when my mom told me that back when I was 13. Shock the shit out of me because everyone in the UK knows how powerful the Walton family was. I didn’t hesitate to find him just to let him know that I was his son because I had a crappy, abusive, good-for-nothing excuse of a mom. Right when I finally found the big guy, you what he says to me? He told me that I was lying, how my mom was lying and we were all a bunch of street low life that wants nothing but scares up reach folks like him. He knew my mom alright but just like London, he chose to leave me in the hands of my crazy ma and never to be seen again. He was a rotten fool and when I finally had enough, I left.”
"Alice. Wake up, baby. You don’t want to miss this entertainment do you?.”The vaguely familiar voice penetrated through the shroud of fury, pulling Alice back up from the void as if hooking me with a line of clarity.“Come back to me, Alice...” Coldness seeped through her shirt to her skin where a hand touched her. She slowly opens her eyes and squinted at the when the light was too bright for her.Once she got accustomed to the brightness, she was finally able to identify the stench of rust and water dripping from the darkroom. She finds herself surrounded by a log interior with deer antlers on the wall but the light around them shows how messy the room was. Junks scatters on the floor and dust with cobwebs made the room stuffy.
A/N: This chapter is a little unedited. Will complete it once I finish 2 more chapters....A constant ringing of her doorbell made Emily beyond pissed. To be b bothered while she was in the midst of business made her grip her fist and ready to slap whoever’s dares to bother her so rudely. Her home wasn't just any other homes in New York. She was living in a half-million-dollar penthouse and to be bothered like this makes her wonder how useless the security guard in the premise is to allow such disrespectfulness. Her anger made her refuse to peek through the hole in her door. She quickly opens the electronic door and all her red emotions just melt into ice. More like those ices melt and fall on her head.Right in front of her was both Alice and her friend Giselle, staring at her angrily and both breathing hard. Before she could close the door or block them, Alice forces herself in and Emily staggers back.Emily quickly turns her gaze t
Alice stands in front of Harry, adjusting his coat and shirt while their maids slowly bringing his working suitcase into the car. There was even a small lunch box prepared for him and the sight of it just tickle his guts.Harry laughed. “ That lunch box will make the boys laugh at me. I’m not a kid, Alice.”“Yeah?” She snorted. “Well, you got a wife that cares about your well being and about what you eat in that office of yours, surrounded by nothing but junk food and dairy shit. I mean, do you even have lunch shops every single day??”“ I don’t actually. When you’re a billionaire, it’s pretty nice to have the ridiculous amount of restaurants around New York that I can go to. I doubt my client enjoys going to restaurants with....what’s that again? Junk food and dairy shit.”“Sure but a lunch made from your lovely ol' wife is better than any of that, don’t you t
“So... how were you and mom today? Did you two had a good time gossiping?”Alice rolled her eyes at him but smiling when that happens.“We weren’t gossiping. Just like how you and dad weren’t gossiping about football. That is so sexist.”Harry chuckled. “What so sexist about me asking my wife what she and my mother talk about? Chatting is like gossip and gossip is like… when you talk about someone. You did, didn’t you?”Alice took a sip of her orange juice and Harry laugh. Stretching his legs and folded them with his back leaning on the sofa near the fireplace.“Who was it? Tell me, I’m dying to know. Can you imagine mom used to do that with me when I was a kid? I could've sworn that she wanted a daughter but poor ol' me, I was a good enough substitute I guess.”Alice laughed and slowly made his way to sit on his lap. She even hears him groan and he spread his leg
“So, how are you and Harry going along?”Alice sips on her warm tea and returns her gaze to her mother-in-law.“Oh, we are going along great. We’re doing fine, Eva.”She just grinned at Alice and nodded.“You can tell me, Alice. Even though I’m not your biological mother, you know I love you like you were my own, don’t you?”Alice stares at her for quite some time, debating about what to tell her since she obviously knows nothing so to tell her the truth is not an option. Eva would get a heart attack if she knows what his son did. It was time to come up with something different.“I know. It’s just that... it’s complicated. A bit of a fight but nothing much. Normal couple stuff.”Eva glared at her suspiciously for a second and sighed. She looks pretty disappointed.“Alright. If you don’t want to tell me about what’s going on, then I u
