I probably should have knocked on Lee's door, but I had a key to the room, so I didn't even think about it.
"Oops!" I exclaimed when I walked in on Lee shirtless. I threw my hands over my eyes.
I couldn't help but peep through my fingers. I guess when he was neglecting his work, he was using the gym. He was in really good shape.
"Alright I have a shirt on," he chuckled.
"Sorry about that," I said.
"I'm not," he grinned. "What happened to you? You look a mess."
"I got in a fight with Analeigh Frost." I rolled my eyes and slid onto his bed. "It was dumb."
"I see. Now, you sure you can handle being alone in a room with me, Watson?" Lee asked as he joined me on the bed with his laptop.
"Somehow I'll control my sexual urges," I chuckled. "So we need five digital marketing strategies that would be successful and increase revenue and business. How many do you have?"
"Two," Lee winced.
"Oh Lee."
"I know."
We laughed as we went through Marketing strategies. I pretty much just gave him the ones I used, but tweaked it so it didn't seem like he copied.
The thing was Lee wasn't bad at this stuff by a long mile. When he applied himself he was actually kind of brilliant. Probably just runs in his family.
"Thanks for this, Scarlett. I couldn't have done this without you," He smiled slightly.
"Yes you could have," I stated. "You know this stuff. You just don't want to."
Lee shook his head. "Is there anything I can do to return the favor?"
"Nah, you're good,"
"You sure? I hate being indebted to people."
"In that case, I'll save it for a rainy day," I grinned.
"Pain in the ass you are." Lee shook his head again.
"It's a gift. Mind if I borrow your laptop real quick? Mine died and I wanna check on the boots I ordered yesterday."
"I thought you were all about hardwork and diligence when you're not handcuffed."
"I can multitask. Now, do you wanna see them?"
"Sure," he smiled.
I made a big deal of showing him the shoes with a drum roll included.
"Aren't they beautiful?"
"They're really nice, Scar. And they don't seem very expensive either, so that's cool."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, to you they're not. This was a splurge for me."
"Well, they'll look great on you. Where do they come up to? About here?" He touched my thigh.
"Yeah. About." I whispered.
"That's...sexy."
"Thanks, Lee."
Lee suddenly leaned in but stopped midway when the door started opening and in walked Wesley Zell. Lee quickly moved his hand.
Wesley's dark brown eyes lit up upon seeing me. A smile spread across his handsome face, littered with freckles and moles. He brushed his dark red hair out of his eyes before speaking.
"Scar. What are you doing here, babe?"
"Just doing some Marketing homework with Lee, since he didn't do it."
"How nice of you,"
"Why do you sound so surprised?" I asked.
"Come on, Scar. You know I think the world of you, but you don't usually do nice." Wesley laughed.
"Fair,"
I handed the laptop back to Lee and slipped off his bed. Wesley came up to me and kissed me hard. I pulled away, not wanting to make Lee uncomfortable.
"You look beautiful," he whispered, brushing his hand over my cheek.
"Thanks," I laughed.
"I'm gonna go to the library," Lee said, getting up abruptly. "Should get some last minute studying in. Heard there's a pop quiz in Statistics today."
"Oh, don't leave on our account," I insisted.
"It's fine. I really should study. See ya in class." He quickly left the room.
"So, what are you up to?" Wesley asked.
"Um, I actually should go change. This shirt is filthy."
"I have shirts here. You'll just have to take this one off."
"Wes," I whispered. "I don't have time. I have to change. I smell like dirt and possibly mustard."
He kissed me again. "Okay, fine. But did you think about what I asked you last time?"
"Favorite dinosaur? Definitely a Spinosaurus. He's bigger than the T-Rex and therefore is superior."
"Not that," he pressed his forehead against mine. "I mean about being my girlfriend."
"Oh, that? Um no."
"No you haven't thought about it or no you don't want to be my girlfriend?"
"I don't want to be your girlfriend, Wesley. You know that. I don't want a relationship."
I hated myself when I saw the sadness in his eyes. "Are you um...seeing other guys?"
"Just one other guy. But you knew that when we started this. Don't make it weird now." I kissed him, hoping that would make him feel better.
He gripped my waist tightly, kissing me back hard. "I just want to be with you."
"You are,"
"I mean for real,"
"This is what you get with me Wesley." I whispered.
"Why won't you date me?" He asked desperately.
"Things are good right now right? We have fun. You enjoy the sex right?"
"Of course I do. It's incredible. Everything with you is."
"Then let's not ruin a good thing," I smiled.
"I just think things would be easier if you were my girlfriend."
"They wouldn't be, I promise. I really gotta go now." I gave him a quick kiss before grabbing my bag.
"Will you come over tonight?"
"No, Wesley. Bye."
I felt kind of bad leaving things that way, but I had already told him I didn't want to be his girlfriend and with the way my life with Grayson was being planned, I never would be.

Lee had been right. I do look a mess! My long curly hair had twigs in it and my hazel eyes were puffy. Probably from whatever is in that god forsaken grass.
My skin looked nice though. My tawny brown skin looked not only moisturized but it had something of a glow to it. I scrunched up my freckled nose as I came to the conclusion that I'd have to shower before class.
I was barely on time to Statistics. I took my usual seat next to Lee.
"You smell good," he whispered.
"Don't be weird." I laughed.
"Like pomegranate. I like it."
"Stop sniffing me, Windsor."
"Stop smelling so good," Lee smirked.
"Ms. Watson, are you ready to present your collected data?" Professor Edwards asked.
"Yes, sir." I smiled, before grabbing my folder and strutting up to the front. "Ready to learn who is more likely to purchase stock at what time of the year?"

I hurried back to my room after classes to change before seeing Grayson. He liked when I was dressed up.
Lulu was already in our room.
"Hey, babe." I smiled. "How was your day?"
"Honestly, missing Marketing threw me off. But it was fine. Why did you fight Analeigh?"
"She heard Carter had been sneaking out of this room."
"Oh," Lulu tugged at her hair.
"Anyways, I'm heading out for the night."
"Going to see your boyfriend?" She smiled slightly.
"He's not exactly my boyfriend," I replied.
"Who is this guy? You've been seeing him for two years. Why can't you be exclusive?"
"It's just not the time. After graduation, I will tell you everything. Things will be less inappropriate then."
"Is he older?"
"Yeah,"
"Alright, Scar. Well tell him I said hi even though he probably doesn't know who I am."
"I never said you didn't know him," I winked.
When I opened our door, Carter was standing outside of it. His blue eyes widened under his mess of blonde hair and he turned paler than usual, seeing me.
"S-Scar. Um, I was just-"
"I know what you're doing here. If you hurt Lulu in anyway, I'll murder you, do you understand me?"
He nodded furiously. "Yeah of course."
"Analeigh doesn't deserve this, you know?"
"Yeah, I do."
"See you later." I walked off.
The car was waiting for me as it always was. I still felt weird being chauffeured around, but if I was going to marry Grayson, I guess I should finally get used to it.
"How are you Charlie?" I asked.
"Very well, Ms. Watson and you?"
"Better if you called me Scarlett."
"My apologies, I always forget."
"Liar," I giggled.
Charlie and I talked as we always did on our drives. As we pulled up to Grayson's house, the front door opened.
Grayson and a beautiful woman in a stunning green dress exited the house. He had his arm around her as she looked up at him adoringly.
Something burned inside me. He had said he didn't see other girls. That he loved me and only wanted to be with me.
I hopped out of the car and stomped up to them.
"Hi, Grayson, who is this?"
"Scarlett, don't you remember my cousin Lenore? You met her last year right?" Grayson asked. I felt like a complete idiot. Now that I could see her better, it was definitely Lenore. Later I would have to unpack why I felt so upset about seeing Grayson with other girls. Not right now though. "Of course. I uh, couldn't really see you that well in this light." I laughed slightly. "Totally fine. I've told Grayson his porch lighting is awful so many times," Lenore giggled. "So have I!" I smiled. "Great minds," She winked. "Well, I'll get out of here so you two can enjoy each other. You'll fit in really well in this family Scarlett."
Grayson pushed himself off of the couch, with me still wrapped around him. He set me down on the island. He always did this. He didn't want us in the room until the last moment. Grayson liked anticipation. He could never just cut right to the chase.I wrapped my legs around him as his lips moved across my throat."Grayson," I whispered. "Come on, people eat on this,""What do you think I'm about to do?" He was on his knees in an instant. He dragged my body closer to him. I felt the lace slide from under my dress. Grayson's arms hooked around my thighs as he shoved his face up my dress. My body arched immediately as a gasp escaped my lips. Grayson's tongue moved in a ci
He slowly got on top of me. "Grayson," I whispered. "I can't miss Marketing twice in a row.""I'll have my parents email Professor Simon and tell him to excuse your absences." Grayson smiled. "Now let me make love to you."I didn't like that I got special treatment, but as much as I loved class, sex does feel better.Grayson had never gone so slow with me. His lips moved across mine slowly as his hands danced along my skin, giving me goosebumps."I love you, Scar." He murmured. "You're so beautiful.""You're really gonna go slow with this huh?"He nodded before moving down to my neck. There was no pain like there usually was. Only pleasure.
I made a big point of loudly dropping my purse on my desk the next day. Lee looked over. "Nice purse. Goes with your shoes." "Thank you. It was a really sweet gift, Lee, I appreciate it." "Don't know what you're talking about." "So you're saying you didn't buy this for me?" I asked. "Nope. Must have been a different LW." "How did you know LW was on the note?" "Fine of course it was me. But don't go around telling everybody. If girls hear I was nice to you they'll think I gotta be nice to them too.” "Ooh, can't have that. The secret is safe with me. You have really good taste t
"Um sorry," Lee turned and walked out of the room."Shit!" I said getting off of Grayson. "I told you we shouldn't do that.""Yeah well you weren't complaining when we got down to it.""I have to go talk to him.""You need to keep him quiet, Scar. My parents were very clear. No one outside of the family can know about us. If the press caught wind of this it would look very bad." Grayson stated."I know," I sighed. "I'll handle Lee, I promise. I'll call you later."I went straight to Lee's room, hoping Wesley wasn't there. I knocked this time.Lee opened the door, shirtless once again.
When I arrived in my room the next day I was surprised to see Carter in Lulu's bed."Where's Lu?"I asked."She had a study group," he answered. "This isn't what it looks like.""Really Carter, you wanna play that game with me of all people?"He sighed. "I'm not a bad guy.""No, you're a bad person." I said. "What you're doing to both of these girls isn't right or fair. Do you actually plan on choosing or is getting your dick sucked twice a day just too good?""It's not about sex Scarlett. I'm in love with both of them!""Then treat them like it! Lulu is going to be a very successful woman, she cannot be a mistress."
"Um...that was...I was just kidding." Lincoln stammered. "I don't want to...you know.""It's okay if you do.""Well I don't! It was just a fucking joke, Scarlett, jeez." He stomped away from me."Everything okay?" Grayson asked."Yeah, um it's fine I guess.""Okay, so dinner with my parents tonight.""Huh? Grayson, why didn't you tell me earlier?" I demanded."I just found out myself, baby. It's gonna be fine, it's not like you've never met them.""I know, but I've never talked to them as your girlfriend. What if I say the wrong thing and they think I'm not good enough to be a W
Avoiding two guys at once is absolutely exhausting. I have resorted to having my phone on do not disturb so I don't feel every fucking buzz. Grayson was apologizing profusely and Lee just "wants to talk". If he wants to talk so damn bad, he can call up Nina and they can talk all night long. Avoiding them during the weekend was easy. I didn't have to leave my room and I could pretend that I wasn't in my room when they stopped by. Monday morning ruined the avoidance of Lee Windsor. "Hey Scar," He smiled hopefully as I took my seat next to him. "Good morning Lee." I said politely. My voice lacked the warmth I usually had when I was with him.
What was wrong with me? Why was I putting myself and the boys through this all over again? Things were kind of normal. I had a routine and Grayson and Lee were my friends and I just wrecked them by having sex with both of them in the span of fourteen hours. How stupid could I be? But also what was wrong with them? Making deals behind my back and deciding what I could and couldn’t do. They infuriated me! I was surprised later that night when there was a knock on my door. It was Lee and Grayson. “What do you want?” I asked. “We should all talk.” Grayson said. “Why? You two talk enough. You make deals and decisions without me. You don’t want to keep doing that?” “Scarlett, come on.” Lee groaned. “Just let us in.” I clicked my tongue, but let them in. They sat on the couch and I took the armchair. “What do you want?” I asked. “To talk about how you both fucked me and then told me it was a m
“Grayson, I’m sorry.” I groaned, sliding off of the island. “I didn’t even think of that!”“You seriously haven’t thought about it? At all?” He demanded, sitting up.“A little, I guess. But I thought I was supposed to be focusing on my sobriety!”“Of course that’s important, but I would think things would be clearer than ever right now. That you would know what you want now.”“I never know what I want, Gray.” I knelt next to him. “I’m honestly shocked you guys even still want to be with me.”Grayson went back to fixing the sink. “How many times do we have to tell you how much we love you?”“I thought you moved on! You had girlfriends!”“I went on a date, geez, Scarlett! I thought about you every single second of the day! I missed you like crazy. And now I’ve been doing everyt
One month of sobriety. It’s been an interesting time. I decided to get a plant like they suggested we did. I named him Herman.Herman has been doing incredibly well so far. He’s stunning and gets a lot of light from the window sill.Getting back into work was shockingly easy. Rex Adams was wonderfully supportive and all my coworkers were nice. It felt so good to be back in business again. My friends were so proud of me. They saw the lifestyle change I’d made and commended me for my hard work. It felt good that someone was proud of me again. Rudy was doing some traveling and was trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. He said being a drug dealer no longer made him happy.I saw Grayson and Lee the most. We’re friends for now. Being in a relationship could really mess up my sobriety so we’re taking this slow and learning how to live with the new me.I’d been attending NA mee
A week later, I was released from the hospital. I was meant to go straight to the facility. It was the middle of the day on Wednesday, so only Grayson, Lee and Rudy could be there for me. It was almost symbolic. The three catalysts for my relapse were helping me get help. Grayson was right. The facility was insanely nice. My last one was a bit more off the grid to keep anyone from finding out. This didn’t seem like a place that people went to get better. It looked more like vacation. “This looks like a rehabilitation center for a doll,” I stated. “It’s really nice, Scar.” Grayson replied. “So am I rehab barbie?” Rude chuckled slightly. “Is now the time for jokes, Letty?” “There’s always time for jokes,” I shrugged. We parked and the boys grabbed my bags. A part of me wanted to run. I knew this was my choice, but I still wasn’t thrilled about going back. I was still on me
Grayson’s POVSometimes there are moments in life when time slows down completely. Like someone hit the slow-mo button and you’re forced to watch either some of the best or worst moments slowly unfold and you’re unable to do anything about it.I’ve had a few moments like that. When I first met Scarlett, when I found her overdosed on the bathroom floor, when I first kissed her, the night she told me she loved me, finding out about her and Lee, when the car crashed. And then there was tonight.Rudy said that Scarlett was in trouble and to call an ambulance. I swear we were all moving quickly to get to that park, but it all felt like it was happening at snail speed. When we arrived at the park, I could see Scarlett. She was lying so still on the jungle gym. Once again it felt like it took forever to reach her.Tears filled my eyes when I saw her. She wasn’t breathing.I forced myself to start CPR
Lee’s POVThis was horrifying.Scarlett’s behavior was unlike anything I’d ever seen. The Wrenfords had been right about how she was in this state. I could tell she was breaking Grayson’s heart with her words, but he still stood there and took it.He really loved her.I stepped forward. “Scarlett, babe please. It’s me. Will you just talk to us?”“I’m done talking, Lee? Aren’t you? All we do is talk! About our daddy issues and insecurities, I don’t want to talk anymore. Especially not to you. You ruined everything!”“What?”“I was happy before you. I had a plan and you eviscerated it within months! You tricked me into falling in love with you!”“Tricked? I didn’t make you fall in love with me, I told you not to!” I reminded her.“Right because your family is always telling you you’re nothing.
Lee’s POVI was pretty fucked up after Scarlett didn’t choose me. However, I was relieved that she didn’t really choose anyone. I thought for sure she would go with Grayson. He was the obvious choice.Older, more intelligent and sophisticated, they had a history.I was actually kind of proud that she chose herself and wanted to truly figure out who she was. I was hoping that meant she would come back to me.I hated how weak and lonely I was without her. My bed was lonely and after all that time without sex, I was craving it badly.Enter Rebecca Walsh. She was stunning, sexy, and liked to have fun. I knew I wouldn’t be serious about her, but I needed to at least feel satisfied. It worked, but only up to a point. I could get off and feel sexually fulfiled for a few moments and then the emptiness set in.Now that I had made love, just fucking felt so useless. It didn’t give me
“Lee?” I asked.“Um...hey there, Scar.” Lee smiled slightly. “You look...great.”“Thank you! You do too! I mean you always look great. You’re Lee Windsor, that’s kind of your thing. Looking hot. You’re just hot.”“Uh...thanks babe. I mean Scarlett.”“Babe,” I giggled. “Isn’t that such a strange word like doesn’t it mean baby, which is like an infant, but also another pet name who comes up with this shit?”“Can we talk? Alone?” Lee questioned.“Sure,” I turned to Rudy. “I’ll be right back babe.” I kissed him before following Lee.“So...that’s your new boyfriend?” Lee whispered.“Yeah, I guess. It’s not serious...but like it is pretty serious. He drives me to work a-and home. And he met everyone for the first time tonight, which made m
It had been two months since I broke my sobriety.I loved life.I had something of a routine. I would do a few lines when I woke up, Rudy would drive me to work, I’d snort for lunch, and when I got off there was Rudy to take me to whatever wild party was happening. We would get high, have sex and party all night until we passed out. Then we woke up and did it all over again.I of course made time for my friends so they didn’t suspect that anything was wrong with me. My limited communication with Grayson and Lee continued. Both had tried to explain the girls, but I didn’t want to hear it.I had moved on.On quieter nights, Rudy and I got high alone and watched stupid movies and fucked on my couch. Our relationship was both severely codependent and low maintenance. We simply wanted what we needed from each other. It sounded complicated but was wonderfully simple.“Hey wh
