Grace’s Point of View

As I opened my eyes, I realized that the bed was empty. Aamon was not there, and I could feel the coldness of the sheets where he had been laying. He must have left a while ago. I sat up quickly, pulling the sheets closer to my body for warmth. I let out a sigh, hoping that everything was alright. This was something that I needed to get used to once again, especially now that Aamon was in charge of the organization.

As I dressed, I realized Rei had no clothes to change into. I rummaged through the bag of unpacked clothing and found a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, underwear, and a bra that would fit her. This would suffice for now; we could find a more permanent solution for Rei and Xavier's clothing later. Xavier had left everything behind at his apartment to get Rei to the hospital on time, so he also needed some clothes. Fortunately, I found a T-shirt and a pair of grey sweatpants that should fit him well enough. Aamon and Xavier had similar builds, which worked out nicely.

I wondered if Aamon had shared his wish for Rei and Xavier to stay until the transition of power was complete. Despite being the true heir to the organization, Rei's chosen profession fulfilled her more than this cutthroat world ever could. She didn't possess a single ruthless bone in her body; this lifestyle would never truly feel like home to her.

I also needed to figure out what my next move would be. I didn’t have to work, and being at home meant I could be there for Aamon whenever he needed me. He probably wouldn't want me to return to my previous role in the organization, but I could still offer my assistance in other ways. This was a conversation we would need to have later, not now. Aamon was putting on a brave face for everyone else as he dealt with Kaz's unexpected passing. I knew it would hit him hard when reality fully set in. For now, he was staying strong and composed, not showing any vulnerability that could put himself or our family at risk.

I carried the piles of clothes in my arms and made my way to the room Rei and Xavier stayed in. I passed by the game room and saw the kids playing together nicely. They seemed oblivious to everything around them and just focused on the game. I wasn’t a fan of too much screen time, and I didn’t even want to think of how early Salem got his sister and brother up to play that game. But I wanted to get the clothes to Rei and Xavier and, if possible talk with my best friend about how she was doing too.

I knocked on the bedroom door, and when there was no answer, I knew it was because they were both fast asleep. So I banged on the door hard enough to shake it.

“I’m up, I’m up,” Rei’s groggy voice came from the other side.

I didn’t hear any other moment, which answered my earlier question. Xavier wasn’t in there either, so where were Aamon and Xavier?

Ethan’s Point of View

It was an unusual gathering. Present were Jakub, Kaz’s most trusted guard, along with Xavier, Chloe, Iris, Aamon, and myself. It seemed that Aamon wanted to take the organization in a different direction, anticipating some resistance from those who might seek to usurp his newfound power. Although he would remain the head of the organization, Jakub, Chloe, and Iris would assume more prominent roles, having each proven their loyalty and ability to work well together.

I would still need to overlook certain aspects of their interests. Still, Aamon’s plan to steer the Brzezinski family toward a more compliant operation would help it become less dependent on other nefarious organizations. The transition to becoming a legitimate organization would be gradual; connections to the darker side would always exist but would not be as strong. This was a brave move, ultimately aimed at protecting Rei and her children more effectively.

This was the reason we had gathered that morning—to debrief one another and strategize on rebuilding the organization and making the world a bit safer for Shiloh, Onyx, and Salem moving forward.

There was a knock at the door, and we all turned to see Rei and Grace in the doorway, looking at us intently. This was the moment of truth. Would Aamon dismiss Rei or welcome her so that her voice would finally be heard as a Brzezinski? Aamon looked to Xavier, and a silent look passed between the two before Xavier nodded. Aamon closed his eyes and sighed before turning his attention to Rei.

“Welcome, little sister. It’s time for you to learn more about our family and the direction we’re heading in. Please take your seat at the table. Grace, sit beside me. You’ll be helping me run the organization as my equal,” Aamon said.

Rei looked at Xavier and smiled. She then sat beside him at the table while Grace joined Aamon. I looked away to blink back tears. Kaz would have been so proud of them. The organization would not be the same as when he had been in control, but Kaz would have been thrilled at how Aamon found a way to turn their pain into progress and push forward.

“I believe that this is my cue to go,” I said, standing up to leave.

“Thank you, Ethan,” Aamon said.

“Of course,” I smiled. “Not to worry, we’ll keep in touch.”

“I’ll walk you out,” Xavier said, quickly kissing Rei, murmuring that he would be right back.

Walking down the long hallway, I asked Xavier how he was.

“Happier than I’ve ever been, but more terrified at the same time,” he answered honestly.

“You do realize that you won't be able to return to the government now. Neither can Iris and Chloe. Are you sure this is what you want to do?” I asked.

“I’m sure. I appreciate how you have looked out for me over the years and guided me in the right direction. But my life begins and ends with Rei now,” Xavier said with a smile.

I nodded in acknowledgment and shook Xavier’s hand before leaving Aamon’s mansion. It was time for all of us to begin again.

If I'm fortunate, I might have a few minutes to savor the tranquility and cleanliness before heading to work," I chuckled wryly.“A home with children isn’t supposed to be spotless. Tidy? Yes. But spotless, absolutely not,” Grace groaned. No wonder she was the cool aunt; I knew she was right, but it was still nice to have a clean home. Xavier’s Point of ViewIt was funny until it wasn’t. But OMG, it was hilarious at the time! The nurse at the desk, a gorgeous woman in her 40s, struggled to keep a straight face as Matt explained what we were doing and how our friend ended up here. Thankfully, we hadn't taken our bikes today, and I could drive the four of us to the hospital.“Just to be clear, the three of you decided to wear garbage bags, soap yourselves up, run, and slide down a grassy hill while your friend filmed this because ….” the hot nurse’s voice trailed off.“It was free, fun, and at the time didn’t think anyone would get hurt,” Lillianna responded in a bored tone.“I’m going to get coffee for us. I think it will be a long night,” my best friend sighed.“Oh, and I like the black dress,” Lillianna grinned, pointing at the nurse’s open laptop beside her.“I know, right? It’s perfect for my friend. It meant a lot that she cared enough to check if I got home safely every time we worked an evening shift together.I never did drink the iced coffee the attractive man had kindly purchased. Although his gesture was thoughtful, I was hesitant since I didn't know him. On the other hand, Mary had no problem enjoying the mini donuts he had bought for us during the rest of our shift. After I politely declined, she even took the remaining ones home to share with her husband. I had packed a sandwich, an apple, and a water bottle for my break, which suited me just fine. Looking back, it was good that the coffee spilled; otherwise, I might have stayed up late reading when I got home.I replayed the unexpected compliment and felt myself blushing just thinking about it. Shiloh’s Point of ViewI rolled my eyes as Salem ranted about Mr. Shiny Light Pants being a real person and how we were too clueless to see him. Eventually, he quieted down and started playing the game with Onyx. I couldn't help but reflect on how Salem had always believed that someone was watching over us, even when we were younger. Maybe he was right all along. With everything going on and our world turned upside down, I had to admit that anything was possible now.I leaned back in my seat and let out a deep sigh. Onyx glanced at me with concern, but I shook my head slightly and silently mouthed, "I'm okay, just exhausted." He nodded in understanding and mouthed back, "Me too." Strangely, this experience had brought my brothers and me closer than ever before. X’s Point of ViewJust as I had done with Kaz, I guided Lillianna toward the light. It was effortless with Kaz; I respected the Don and enjoyed his company. However, I couldn't stand Lillianna. Yet, there was a glimmer of something in her that I couldn't ignore. After she crossed over to the light completely, I turned to leave."You're not coming with me, are you?" she asked."No," I replied."Will we ever meet again?" Lillianna's voice trembled with emotion."Not if I have any say in it," I responded sharply.“I loved him, you know. In my own way, I loved Xavier. And maybe, just maybe, he could have loved me back,” Lillianna revealed.“But you knew his heart was devoted to someone else, yet you persisted in your pursuit of him. He was never yours to claim. Lillianna’s Point of ViewThe audacity of Aamon was unfathomable. Without a second thought, he had given my hard-earned jobs to Chloe, someone who had no business taking them from me. My head spun with fury, drowning out any sounds around me until Iris appeared, her cold voice cutting through the chaos. Before I could react, a searing pain ripped through my abdomen as her bullet tore into me. I felt my insides lurch and knew she had hit vital organs. The shock was almost too much to bear as I gasped for air, realizing this was how I imagined my end. A scream rose in my throat, but was stifled by the shock and agony coursing through my body. All I could do was curse fate for this cruel and undeserved death as I bled out on the floor in front of the bathroom. Rage turned to despair as my last thoughts faded into darkness.Chloe’s Point of ViewI couldn't believe what I had just witnessed. Iris had made a grand entrance and delivered a deadly blow with precision and finality. As I stood t

Chloe’s Point of ViewI recounted all of my knowledge about Lillianna to Iris, who listened with great interest. "I have no emotional connection to Lillianna. I believe I should be the one to take her out. Would that be an issue for you?" Iris inquired.I took a moment to consider the question before me. As much as I wanted to be the one to put an end to her life, my friend was essentially being used as leverage by this deranged individual. If Sam was in danger, I feared I would hesitate to act. While I didn’t want any harm to come to my friend, I also knew that Lillianna needed to be dealt with immediately. We couldn’t afford any more delays. With a heavy sigh, I shook my head no."Alright, first, we need to figure out a plan for entering and exiting while making sure Sam makes it out alive," Iris suggested. As we finalized our plan, the two operatives Ethan had sent for backup showed up. They drove by discreetly, acknowledging us before parking on the street at a safe distance but st

Ethan’s Point of ViewI dispatched a team to Lillianna's residence, making sure she and Emmanuel were not present. Iris was instructed not to enter Xavier's apartment without my permission and always to keep an eye on Chloe. Although I knew this put Sam in danger, I didn't believe Lillianna would kill the woman - perhaps harm her, which may have already happened. Even I could see how much Lillianna despised Sam.I had to handle this situation delicately, as we couldn't risk any trace leading back to Aamon, Rei, or Xavier. Lillianna was not someone to be underestimated; she managed to fatally wound Kaz in a moment of rage while he faced off against much more experienced enemies unscathed. I was just one of many who wanted her out of the picture, but I had to deal with her before she dealt with us.My phone interrupted me, and I answered it hastily, recognizing the team member's number from Lillianna's apartment."It's a disaster in here, boss. Grace’s Point of ViewAfter we finished showering, my legs were still trembling. Aamon insisted on carrying me back to bed and holding me in his arms until I felt better. It wasn't because I was in pain but simply because I was physically exhausted. It wasn't a negative experience, but it had been a while since I had been this sexually active during our time apart. I had casual partners here and there, but my heart was never truly invested. I knew I needed to regain my stamina.I gently ran my fingers over the intricate tattoos gracing his skin, savouring the familiar feeling of him. Being close to him was like being home, bringing tears to my eyes. But I refused to let them fall; Aamon would worry that I was upset or in pain. But the truth was, I was grateful. Grateful to have this stunning man back in my life and in his bed again after all this time.“Co myślisz o mojej miłości?” Aamon whispered as I lay in his arms, and my body slowly relaxed.Even though I didn’t speak much Polish,

I tossed my phone on the bed and sat down, trying to sort through the thoughts racing in my head. I was in love with Sam. I don’t know when it happened, but there was no doubt—not anymore.Memories of the last time she stayed over flooded my mind. I could still see her lying in my bed, her clothes scattered on the floor except for the thong I had insisted she wear. With her long, slender legs wrapped around my neck, I teased and pleased her until she reached orgasm multiple times at my command.I savoured the taste of her as I licked and nibbled her clit, my fingers moving in a rhythm that drove her wild. She was such a good girl, her legs trembling as she screamed my name. But even in the throes of pleasure, she knew to give me everything I demanded. It was thrilling to have such power over Sam, to know that by just touching her in a certain way, I could control her will and ma
