I hope you liked this chapter. As always, I would love to read your comments.
I asked, “What do you mean by that?” He replied, “They want to schedule a visit and appoint an elder to live at the pack to keep an eye on things.” I nodded, “That’s fine. Everything should be according to werewolf law, right?” He nodded, “Everything is actually better than when Ben had it and definitely better than when Raymond had it. We are still growing too. The school has already been cleaned, repaired where needed, and is now being stocked. We are planning on opening it to the kids in September. We are assigning quite a few of our kitchen staff to the school cafeteria too.” I smiled, “I was going to suggest that. I would strongly suggest trying to take volunteers first.” He agreed, “We will do that.” I asked, “Should I be there when the elders come to the pack?” Andrew shrugged, “Part of me wants to say no, but another part of me wants to tell you it’s a good idea.” I asked Joshua and Matthew, “What do you guys think?” Matthew sighed, “As badly as I want to tell you that you sho
It had been a week since the meeting with Raymond and things were going much better. Construction had started on his pack house and he was fine with some of our warriors being there to protect my builders. He actually welcomed it because he told me that he turned away some rogues who wanted to join his pack. They were honest with him and told him why they were rogues and he chose not to let them in. They had been violent with children in their previous packs, and he did not want that in his pack. He was afraid they were going to attack. And they did try. My warriors took them out before they had a chance to do any kind of damage. Raymond had decided that he wanted to welcome individuals and families who were rogue through no fault of their own. I did like that idea and told him as much. Word started spreading about what he wanted and rogues started applying. He was just living in a tent until the pack house was built. He noticed that the blueprint we provided would fit double the numb
We had been at the pack house for less than twenty minutes when an SUV parked in front. Josh and I stepped onto the porch with Andrew and Jacob to greet a smiling Alpha Raymond. I smiled, “Hello, Alpha Raymond. How are things at your pack now?” He laughed, “Things could not possibly get better. The size of my pack is growing and your builders are beasts! They had my pack house and my bunkhouse done in no time and the quality of their work was excellent. They were also nice and professional. How did you find those guys?” I laughed, “They were either born into this pack or they were mated to someone who was born into this pack. I still have pack members coming back occasionally.” He nodded in approval, “Well, the pack sure looks different from when I had it. Did you build a whole new neighborhood that way?” I nodded, “We did, and a general store. We also have the school up and running and the hospital is staffed with plenty of doctors and nurses. We also have a new neighborhood running t
I gasped as I heard him say his name, “Tommy?!” He nodded as he opened his arms for a hug. I stepped into his arms and I could feel the family bond snap into place. I looked at his face, “I knew I recognized you from somewhere.” He laughed, “I knew you as soon as I saw you. The hair was a dead giveaway. Your mom swore to my mom she would never cut your hair. My mom loved it and your mom always wanted to please her older sister.” I smiled, “I always wondered why I had an aversion to cutting my hair, but I ended up having to make a compromise. I was having to cut it to keep it off the floor. Then I finally had it cut to just behind my knees.” He smiled, “That’s not a problem. Let me introduce you to the council.” He turned to the men in front of us, “I will introduce them in order. We have our leader, Kian. His second in command, Jamin. Kian’s Delta, Miles. That is Terrance, we call him Terry, then Bruce, Wyatt and Ravi. Gentlemen, I would like for you to meet Dagr’s granddaughter, Isab
After a nice dinner, we stayed at our table and waited for all of the pack to arrive. While we were waiting, another table was added to the end of ours to allow the elders to sit alongside us at the head of the meeting. I was talking with Joshua about things I needed to do after we got home when Nyx suddenly stands next to me and hugs me from the side. I laughed and turned to her to give her a proper hug, “How are ya, kiddo?” She smiled, “I’m great, Alpha. The proper question is how are you? Are you getting plenty of rest?” I smiled, “I am doing a lot better. I make it a point to take a nap every afternoon. I’m only working half days because my mate won’t let me work longer.” She smiled and hugged Joshua, “Thank you for taking care of our Alpha.” He laughed, “It’s my pleasure, Nyx.” She bounced on her tiptoes and smiled, “Well, I need to go sit down. I just wanted to say hi.” Josh and I laughed as she skipped away to go sit with her mom. As soon as everyone was seated and quiet, I sto
I spent the next morning in my office, going through paperwork and completing the things that Andrew couldn’t. It was just before noon when I realized I was all caught up. I sat back in my chair and sighed as I looked at my mate, “I’m all caught up. Should we check on the safes?” He nodded, “I think we should.” I went to the hidden room with my mate following me. I opened the first safe, and it still looked like it hadn’t been touched. I opened the second one and it looked like it hadn’t been touched either. When I opened the third one, it looked like this was the safe that payroll had been paid out of because there was a small gap between the top wall and the top of the bills, “I was wondering why the safe out there still looked full. I looked at Josh, “I have a feeling that Andrew did this to make the safe out there look full in case Raymond looked in it.” Joshua raised a brow, “I think you’re right.” Andrew walked into the office and saw where we were, “So you found what I did?” I
We had slept two hours and I woke up on my own. It was nice to wake up slowly rather than hitting the ground running. I slept so hard that I woke up thinking it was the next morning. I mind linked Thomas immediately, “Thomas! You didn’t tell me when your parents got here!” Thomas replied in a very confused voice, “Because they haven’t gotten here yet. Alpha, did you by chance take a nap?” I looked at the alarm clock on my nightstand. It was only five o’clock. Oops. I chuckled, “Sorry, Thomas. I did take a nap. I thought it was tomorrow.” He laughed, “It’s okay, Alpha. My parents are about an hour and a half away now.” I smiled, “Thanks, Tommy.” I could hear him laugh lightly as he responded, “No problem, Izzy.” I rested my chin on Joshua’s chest, “Mate, it’s time to wake up.” He groaned as he wrapped his arms around me, “Why? We really need a day to just relax.” I sighed, “I know but it’s not going to happen here or at our pack.” He hummed, “I like that you call my pack our pack.” I s
Joshua and I went home that night talking about how sweet my uncle and aunt are and how happy I was that they moved back to our territory. When we got back to the pack house, we walked up to our room and got ready for bed. I got in bed and snuggled close to my mate, sighing in happiness, “Goodnight, love.” He smiled, ‘Goodnight my mate.” Josh and I woke up the next morning to my alarm waking us. Josh was the one waking me this time, “Good morning, love. Time to get ready for our doctor appointment.” I smiled, “Ugh. How much time do we have to get ready?” He smiled, “It’s your turn in the shower. Take your time. We have an hour still.” I sighed, “Thank you for giving me plenty of time so I don’t have to get ready in a hurry.” I smiled as I walked to the bathroom and turned on the water. I got undressed and stepped under the warm spray. I washed my body and hair quickly, because even though my hair was significantly shorter, it was still super long and took forever to brush all the tang
