Chapter 67

The next morning, I woke up to an empty bed. I looked at the clock on my night table and found that it was eight o’clock in the morning. It was later than I normally got up, so I felt like I needed to hit the ground running. I smelled sausage cooking and my stomach started rumbling. I got out of bed, took my shower, and put on a deep purple sundress with black sandals. I walked into the kitchen and found Josh making breakfast while Jessie started the dinner rolls. I poured a cup of coffee and sat at the island, “Thank you for making breakfast, love.” He smiled, “It’s the least I can do for you. I want you to be able to relax today. It’s going to be bad enough as it is.” I gushed, “Aw, you’re so sweet. Thank you.”

Jessie finished setting up the bread machine for dinner rolls and turned it on. She turned to me, “Don’t you dare do anything with those. I am here. I will be taking care of them. Honi is on her way up to start pounding the chicken breasts. We will be hanging out together for
