I spent the rest of the day sparring and practicing with Scott, only taking breaks to hydrate or eat meals. We didn’t stop for the night until we saw Gabrielle and my mate sitting in a corner, yawning. I laughed as I pointed to them, “Looks like we should stop for the day.” Gamma Scott replied, “As far as stamina goes, I think you’re good. We should practice in wolf form tomorrow. I don’t think my face or ribs can take any more abuse tonight.” I took a good look at his face for the first time and cringed as I noticed he most definitely has taken a beating. Oops… his entire face is black and blue. Both eyes are swollen, his nose is broken in a few spots and I can tell he is having issues with his ribs, because he keeps grabbing them. I suggested, “Maybe we should arrange for Alpha to spar with me tomorrow?” He smiled, “I should be healed by morning. We can train in wolf form tomorrow morning, so you can fight in human form with Alpha in the afternoon as long as your wolf fights well.” I

I can't wait for the next chapter. I love how your books are more about the characters and story line than just the sex scenes. I hope you have a book planned for when this finishes

Isabel POV We reached the outdoor training area and Gamma Scott was waiting there with Gabrielle. I smiled, “Good morning!” I hugged Gabrielle and smiled, “I hope my sparring with your mate isn’t hurting you.” She laughed, “Not at all. It’s nice seeing his ass get handed to him for a change.” I laughed out loud, “That’s good to know.” I approached Gamma Scott, “Are you all healed now?” He smiled, “Yeah. All healed. I have to say, Only Alpha Matthew has been able to inflict that much damage on me. I think the Goddess may have overdone it on your enhancements.” I laughed hard at that, “I guess I need to learn how to control it. I don’t want to accidentally kill someone.” He smiled, “That might be a good idea, but we need to see what your wolf can do this morning. Why don’t you go behind that tree and shift for us?” I nodded and walked behind a tree, taking off my leggings and sports bra and shifted. Tasha walked into the training ring and faced Gamma Scott’s wolf, Raider. He was a mass

After an amazing afternoon of watching movies, snacking and eating junk food, then a steamy evening in bed, I fell asleep in total contentment, snuggled close to my mate. I woke this morning before dawn, took my shower, then went to the kitchen to make breakfast. I made strawberry waffles with sausage and put them on plates with syrup, coffee and milk on a tray and took it to Joshua in bed. I woke him up and sat with him while I ate and drank my coffee with him. I asked, “Do you like the waffles?” He nodded with his mouth full, “They’re great.” I laughed, “I’m glad you like them.” He asked, “Are you ready for today?” I nodded, “Yeah. I really hope I don’t get challenged, but it sounds like it’s part of the plan.” He replied, “I understand. I also know you’ll kill it.” I smiled, “I’m so glad you have that much confidence in me.” He chuckled, “Love, you knock out the strongest man in the pack with one kick. I’m pretty sure you got this.” I laughed, “I wasn’t very stressed about fighting

We walked to the hall doors and they opened as soon as we walked into the hall. As we walked together down the aisle toward Alpha Matthew, I was hearing a lot of comments from the pack as well as guests. Most were commenting about how pretty my dress was, one little girl shouted, “She cut her hair,” causing everyone, including Joshua and me, to laugh loudly. When we reached Alpha Matthew, my mate and I faced each other up front, shared a gentle kiss and he stood to the side. Alpha Matthew started, “We are all gathered together to witness the induction of Isabel Myers into Cold Springs Pack and name her Co-Beta. First, Isabel Myers, will you accept my invitation into Cold Springs Pack?” I nodded, “I will.” Alpha Matthew then looked into the crowd, “As is tradition, I will now ask if there is anyone who wishes to challenge Isabel for the position of Co-Beta?” A huge woman stood up, “I, Rita Coolie, challenge Isabel Myers for the position of Co-Beta to Cold Springs Pack in a fight to the

Joshua POV When we walked into the room, I saw a tube coming from her chest and she had an oxygen mask over her nose and mouth. She had a catheter coming from under the covers and I knew she would find that uncomfortable when she woke up. I watched tubing protruding from the side of her chest as it occasionally carried blood and fluid from her lungs. I’m sure she looked far worse than she actually was but I felt like I could have killed that Lycan if she hadn’t done it already. I walked to her bedside and sat on the side that didn’t have all the machines. I took her hand in mind and relished the feel of the sparks of the mate bond. I kissed her hand lightly and sighed, “I’m here, love. I’m not going anywhere.” Jessie and Matt stood next to each other at the foot of her bed. They were each touching one of her feet and Jessie laughed, “She hates her feet being touched. I think we’re okay as long as we don’t touch the bottoms of her feet. She’s very ticklish.” I asked, “Why didn’t I kno

Joshua’s POV When Alphas Matthew and Conner arrived at my mate’s room, I knew there was an issue when I saw my brother’s face. He looked furious. Alpha Conner stood next to my mate’s side of the bed, “I’m so sorry this happened to you, Isabel. I hope you get better soon.” I sighed, “It’s going to be a long recovery. They had to totally reconstruct her ribs using cadaver ribs.” Alpha Conner’s eyes went wide, “That may creep her out at first, but she will get used to it.” I laughed, “That’s almost the same thing I said. So, what is the news?” He rubbed the back of his neck as if he was very uncomfortable, “My sources in her old pack tell me that bonehead sent the Lycan. She was mated to one of his pack members. She was supposed to kill her. His pack is almost decimated. Half of the pack left when she left. Only the ones who thought it was okay to beat a pack member for no good reason remained in the pack. Needless to say, he is down to only twenty warriors. He has been going to the sur

Isabel POV I had no clue what happened. One minute I was fine, the next minute I was having a hard time breathing then everything went dark. The Goddess appeared before me once again, “Isabel, you fought well, but you took a punch to the wrong spot. They are going to have to operate on you and I am going to keep you in a deep sleep for a while. You will need it to ease the pain. You actually died for a few minutes, but they were able to revive you. You will be hearing more from me, but for now, I want you to sleep.” Every time she tells me to sleep, it’s the deepest sleep I have ever had. This time, it is being helped by the anesthesia. The next thing I remember is foreign words being chanted over me, but not to me. Who the hell was this? My body hurt so much I could hardly think straight! It was almost mind-numbing pain. I could feel sparks in my hand on my right side, so I knew my mate was with me and I knew the pain would be worse if I didn’t have him with me. I didn’t feel threat

My mate laughed as he yelled, “Come on in.” Luna Jessie barreled into the room and ran to my mate’s side of the bed, “Izzy! Oh, my Goddess! I’m so happy you’re awake now! You have no idea how things were while you were out. We have had so many calls from Alphas of other packs wondering about your condition and wanting to make alliances with our pack. It has been crazy! Alpha Conner has been wanting to come and see you and the Alpha of the Lycan pack wants to meet you.” I just sat there, with my jaw dropped, while she kept talking. When she finally finished, all I could say was, “Wow. I didn’t know I was that popular.” She laughed, “Hon, you killed a Lycan! Your tiny little body killed a woman who was nearly twice your size! And that woman was determined to kill you.” I wanted to laugh at her dramatics, but I was trying not to. I’m sure that caused me to have a strange look on my face because Jessie suddenly stopped and put both hands on my arm, “Oh, goodness! Are you hurting? Am I tal

I woke up to Doctor Simmons standing over me and my mate looking down at me with deep concern. I asked, “So how are my x-rays doctor?” He replied, “I was just telling the Beta that your ribs are healed, mostly. Enough that you could go home if you can keep from doing anything strenuous and not pick up anything over five pounds.” I asked, “Five pounds? That will not be easy, but I can do that. I’m sure my mate will be watching over me to make sure I don’t.” Joshua was sitting next to me, nodding to the doctor. Doctor Simmons laughed, “Okay, let’s go ahead and discharge you to home then. I’m sure you will have plenty of help in everything you need to do.” Josh smiled, “She will. Thanks.” With another promise to the doctor to keep my five-pound weight restriction in mind with everything I do, I was able to walk out of the hospital. When we got to the pack house, I was greeted by tons of pack members with well wishes. I was approached by a little girl, “Hi Co-Beta. Are you feeling okay?”

It has now been twenty years since that awful day. We have had so much happen since then. Kenny took his rightful place as Alpha of the Red Moon Pack when he was eighteen and Kyle took his place as Beta of Cold Springs pack at the same age. Kyle met his mate, Kelly, when an Alpha from another pack brought his family to visit the pack. This is common practice when an alpha wants his daughter to find her mate. They had a boy and a girl and we are so happy to be grandparents! Kenny hasn’t found his mate yet, but I’m sure he will. He is about to go overseas for a summit with a wolf pack in Russia. There is really no point in an alliance with that pack, because it would serve no purpose. We wouldn’t be able to provide aide in a timely manner and we wouldn’t be able to invest to be able to see where the money is going. I have a feeling he is just going to see if his mate is there and I am very happy he’s at least trying to look. Andrew stepped back from his duties as Co-Alpha and built a h

Five years later, I had just given birth to my sixth, and final, child. My son, Ace, may be the youngest, but he is an Alpha through and through. He was a huge baby, weighing fourteen pounds, six ounces and he was twenty-four inches long. It seemed like giving birth to him took forever! He’s a sweet boy, but very impatient. He does love having his butt pounded and being rocked roughly though… just like his brothers and sisters. He started sleeping through the night at one week old and nearly scared me to death. I got no sleep that first time. I was up every hour, checking to make sure he was still breathing and listening to his heartbeat. He has been doing everything earlier than his brothers and sisters. He’s the chubbiest little boy I have ever seen and I giggle each time I see him laugh. Yes, he is one month old and already laughing. I mean laughing so hard his fat rolls jiggle and I love every second I get to see him do it. So do all of my other children. Kenny and Kyle are in sch

The next morning, Joshua and I went to the doctor and found out that I am only one month pregnant, so there is plenty of time. It also looked like there was only one this time, so I was grateful for that. When we left the clinic, Joshua took me to his car, “Get in. I need to show you something.” I got in the car and I giggled as I watched my big, burly mate nearly skip to the driver’s side of our car. When he got in and started the car, he was almost giddy as he started driving. I laughed, “You are acting like a kid with a huge present in front of him.” He laughed, “I can’t wait for you to see this.” We were only on the road for ten minutes and we pulled into the driveway of a house that looked exactly like the house we had designed. It had a huge, fenced-in yard and the house had a Victorian design with lots of windows, curves, and a beautiful porch with a porch swing. I smiled, “This is really pretty. It looks like the house we designed for our family.” He smiled, “Because it is the

Six months later, my little girl was already starting to learn sign language from one of the pack members in Cold Springs Pack. Her name was Lindsay, and she recently moved to the pack in order to accept a teaching position at the new school. When she heard that Jessica was an oracle, she offered to teach her sign language so she could have the ability to communicate her visions. I paid Lindsay extra for the lessons, because she was teaching me, Luna Jessie and our mates at the same time. That extra ability to communicate was invaluable for all of us. We didn’t expect our boys to be so comical about it though. Once in a while, Kenny would try to get Jessica going by standing between me and Jessica while she tried to sign to me for something. I would shake my head at him, chuckling, while he tried to sign back to her, making random movements with his hands. She would get so frustrated she would start yelling, “MA!” I laughed out loud and asked, “What do you need, sweetie? Is brother ma

Joshua and I slept like rocks that night. The next morning, I had to laugh. Joshua asked, “What’s so funny?” I laughed, “I can remember a time when a night away from the kids caused us to get horny as hell. Now we get sleepy.” He laughed, “I guess we need more than one night in a row. One night to catch up on sleep the next night to catch up on each other.” I smiled, “I like that idea. We will have to remember that for next time.” He smiled, “I think we need a weekend away at the enchanted cabin. Just the two of us.” I smiled as I felt his arms snake around me and a kiss on the back of my neck, “I think we need to make that happen soon. For now, we need to go find out what Jada found out.” He reluctantly agreed, “Sometimes, responsible parenting is the biggest cock-blocker.” I sighed, “But it’s worth it. Don’t even try to say different.” He chuckled, “You’re right. These kids are our biggest blessings. I would just really like to try for more.” I laughed, “We can do that any night, aft

That evening, we were in the dining room, eating dinner with all of Red Moon Pack. After everyone was done eating, I stood up and waited for the room to quiet. When I had everyone’s attention, I spoke up, “Red Moon Pack, I’m so happy to be back with all of you and so is my family. As you all know, our daughter was born. Her name is Jessica Marie. I have something to tell you about her that I need to keep within the pack. She is an oracle. I need all of you to keep this information about her in the pack. If word got out, it would set a target on her and our pack. There are still alphas who would use her abilities for nefarious purposes. Are we all in agreement with that?” I heard the whole pack agree, “Yes, alpha!” I continued, “Now, your alpha heir would like to make an announcement, then I will clarify it.” I watched as Matthew and Joshua stood Kenny and Douglas on the table. Kenny put his arm over Douglas’ shoulder and puffed out his chest. He yelled, “My beta, Douglath!” Everyone l

Two months later, Cold Springs Pack was really starting to transform. The school buildings, the rec center and the Jo-Ann Fabrics store were all being built at the same time. The roads leading to each had been created and parking lots for each had been cleared. I had the franchise agreement signed within a week, because I was able to pay all franchise fees for a term of ten years up-front. When they had that much money offered to them, they couldn’t refuse. Jessica started sleeping all night at one month old and Joshua and I couldn’t have been happier about it. I sometimes wondered if she had already started having visions, because she was waking up so much more than our boys did. There was no way to tell if she was. Joshua and I decided that we needed to go down to Red Moon Pack for a couple of days, just to introduce her and have our pack meeting about her. I know that since we already had two oracles in the pack, it won’t be a big issue for Red Moon to keep her abilities to themsel

Joshua’s back stiffened instantly so I started rubbing comforting circles on his back to help him chill out before he answered. Joshua linked, “Thank you, love. I needed that.” Then he turned to the man and replied, “A gifted wolf of any kind makes a pack much stronger. They are highly sought after by alphas with nefarious intent. An oracle has the ability to see into the future from a very early age. Our daughter will be training at Red Moon Pack with a couple of my mate’s cousins to learn how to deal with the things she sees and what to do with them.” The man lowered his gaze, “I’m so sorry, Beta Joshua. I didn’t mean to sound bitter, but Alpha said he would take questions after the meeting, but with all the other excitement, he probably just forgot. Your secret is safe with me. Co-Beta, thank you for all you are going to do for our pack. I think they are all really good ideas.” I smiled, “You’re very welcome. I want to see our pack happy and flourishing.” Joshua replied, “You’re fin

One week later, Alpha Matthew called a mandatory pack meeting for all pack members. Joshua and I had decided to eat dinner in the dining room with our children this evening, so that we could make it to the meeting. We were bombarded with pack members constantly walking up to us and gushing over all of our kids. Joshua waited until no one else was around us and leaned into me, “This is what happens when we don’t eat with the pack regularly.” I sighed, “Okay. I get it. Should we eat down here a couple nights a week?” He replied, “That might not be a bad idea. It may get to be a bit much for you to cook after you work in your office all day. Especially with these three, if you aren’t going to use the daycare.” I sighed, “I want all of our kids to learn by example. They will learn what a co-beta does and what a beta does by watching us. I think that’s really important. I would also like our girls to spend time watching Jessie too. Some of our girls may end up being luna.” Josh laughed, “
