Keenan thought about it over and over. He had an attraction towards the girl in his school as he could see similarities between his wife and her.
He wondered if it was because he could not move on from her from his past life. He wondered if he came back because of their vows.
He was given the chance to start a new beginning.
He had resentment towards her when she decided on her own not to fight anymore. But when he learned through taking care of patients, especially those at the end of their lives, he realized that his wife didn’t want him to suffer because of her any longer since they were only delaying the inevitable. She, herself, was suffering. He told his wife in his dreams that she made the wrong decision but also realized that he was being selfish.
“Ma? Keenan is coming tomorrow.” She said to Estela, her voice low as Isidora was already sleeping.“Are you going out again?” Estela frowned.“No, Ma. We’ll be here.”“There’s nothing to do here..”“Uh–He said he’ll bring his violin so I think we’ll just be playing some songs… Will that bother anyone?”Silence.“Alright. I got it. Go to sleep now. It’s already late.” Estela waved her hand. Her brow was still pulled together.
After the mass, Keenan, Dawn and her family went home. The church goers who passed by their house saw Keenan’s car parked behind the red SUV.While everyone in the house were having breakfast, the neighbors who passed by couldn’t help but crane their necks to see if the same car they saw back outside the church was really there.Right after breakfast, Keenan told Mariano that he was free to go back to the Alegre’s mansion and just pick him up later when he’s ready to go home.Mariano didn’t want to do that at first, but since Keenan said that they were not going anywhere anyway, he relented.Since Keenan had brought his violin,
Estela couldn’t hear much noise from the other room. She wondered if the two were still there. She got up and passed by Dawn’s room slowly. The door was indeed open.Dawn must have sensed her since she looked up and glanced at her.“You need something, Ma?” Her hands hovered above the keyboard.“Oh–nothing. Will he be staying here all day?” She pointed at Keenan with her puckered lips.Dawn glanced at Keenan’s sleeping face.“I think so..”
Not only Claire was miffed by the current situation. There was also Giancarlo. This was the second day that they have seen Keenan attend mass with the Salcedo family. It wouldn’t have been strange if his parents were there as well, and were sitting at a different pew. But no–. The Governor and his wife were not there. And Keenan even entered and left with Dawn, sitting next to her the whole time. All those times, holding her hand as they sang the Lord’s Prayer. It irked the two to no end. Now, on the third time that Keenan joined the Salcedo family, Giancarlo and Claire dragged their other friends to sit right behind the Salcedo family’s pew.
Giancarlo turned to leave.Claire panicked.“Hey! Where are you going?!” She cried.“Shut up!” Giancarlo was too frustrated to even think of consoling her.In the first place, Claire had no chance with Keenan anyway. The guy had a superior background even before he was born. Claire was only a common person. She only had delusions that she had a chance with him.Unlike with Dawn, Giancarlo thought that he had a higher chance to be with her. They had a past together, even just as childhood friends. They were also neighbors and they have recently rekindled their connection. If
Moments later, an arm snaked under the blanket.A hand touched her abdomen.Warmth seeped in.Her eyes flew upon. Her breath hitched. She covered her mouth, not wanting to wake him up.She could still hear his even breaths. He was still asleep.Moments later, she felt his hand crawl inside her shirt. Her eyes bulged.‘Uh-oh..’ She had a strange feeling about this.He pulled her closer to him. It was then she f
Keenan took Dawn home before the sun had set.At home, Dawn checked her laptop for any more updates. There were a few e-mails from Wordsmith Literature. They let her know that the books have been delivered in the bookstores and would begin selling on the 23rd.Anyone who wanted to purchase it could have it just in time for Christmas.Usually, it’s not advisable to publish a book during Christmas since people are busy with Christmas events. It would not be ideal especially if it’s an author’s first book. However, Dawn and Wordsmith Literature are confident that her book wouldn&rsqu
Dawn wondered what was the purpose of Claire’s visit. She then remembered that Claire called her earlier. She went out of her room and met her outside. To her surprise, instead of a smile, she was greeted with Claire’s brows pulled together and her lips pursed tight.“Everything alright, Claire?” She asked, her brows now pulled together as well. The other scoffed and looked the other way.Dawn’s frown deepened. ‘Did I do something wrong?’“Are you okay?”Claire seethed in anger.“
