Argent

It has been six months since everything happened. Six months were I buried a great friend and colleague, killed a great foe, and found the love of my life.

Five months ago, Sebastian’s name was cleared, and the Confradia declared him the new director of the Mexico branch.

I recruited two new men in the process. Men who I knew I could trust. One of the men, Raven, was a former Army Ranger, and Drax was part of the Israeli Army. Both men were vetted personally by me and seem to be adjusting well to living in Brazil.

Voodoo, as predicted, accepted Logan’s offer to transfer to Los Angeles. Sebastian was more than happy to let him

Argent I’ve never wanted to kill anyone more than I do, my traitorous right-hand man, Sebastian, at this moment. In fact, I’ve been feeling a mixture of emotions since I learned of his betrayal─ hurt being one of them. Sebastian was, up until I learned of his deceit, my best friend, and that’s what hurts the most. For years Sebastian and I worked together. I thought we were friends─brothers. However, recently, I found out that he was dealing with the enemy behind my back. Now, I’m on his trail, and as soon as I catch him, I’m going to…well, let’s just say it’s not going to be a friendly talk that we’ll be having. Sebastian thought he could escape the Confradia’s wrath by faking his death during a boat accident, but he wasn’t very good at covering his tracks, which confuses me. However, I’m too angry to analyze his idiotic plan

Penelope “Okay, smile, and don’t forget to say cheese!” My friend, Lyria, calls out to me. Since we arrived in Brazil two days ago, Lyria hasn’t stopped taking pictures. We’re here because we were both accepted into a program in Rio. Over the past two years, I studied Botany at the University of Las Vegas until I graduated a couple of months ago. Lyria will be attending the University here for graduate classes. When the opportunity to work abroad in Brazil came up, we jumped on it. My mother’s family is from Brazil. And even though I have never lived here, I thought it would be cool to visit the place where my mom came from. Unfortunately, my mom passed two years ago, or she’d be excited to know that I was here. Her dea

Argent “Okay, so here’s your profile invitation code. As soon as they sent an invitation to this profile, I intercepted it, took the code, and removed the invitation from the actual user’s profile. As long as you give them the code, you should be good to go.” Mateo says as he shows me the information. I look through the profile, recording all of the facts in my mind before I look up again. “What kind of party am I going to?” “Fortunately, it’s a virgin auction, so we don’t have to worry about anyone getting killed.” He replies. I look at the screen to see if there is any more informatio

  • The Assassin's Destiny VII   Chapter 4: The worst wounds are the ones that you don’t see

Penelope Nausea gathers in my stomach as I make my way to the guest bedroom. I can’t believe that I just molested, Argent. He looked so gorgeous and broody that I couldn’t help myself. I wasn’t joking with him when I said that I saw him when he walked into the auction room or thought he was hot. To be honest, he’s the most attractive man that I’ve ever met. I was drawn to his masculine bearing, golden hair, muscular body, and sharp hazel eyes from the first moment he walked in. Since the moment I sat on his lap, I have kept bouncing between anxiety and arousal. Something about him made me feel safe and needy. I don’t know why, but I wasn’t scared of him. Even when I thought that he was there to buy a woman. I know that it’s stupid and cheesy, but it feels as if my so

Argent What am I doing? For so long, I’ve managed to keep my word. Yet, Penelope strolls into my life, and I’m acting like a teenage boy again. Of course, she’s stunning, but I’ve met plenty of attractive women whom I’ve managed to keep my hands off. The first time we kissed can be forgiven, but the others cannot. I intentionally kissed and touched Penelope again. I’d like to tell myself that it’s because I wanted to take away her sadness, but that’s not true. I wanted to touch her, and I wanted to kiss her, so I did. It doesn’t help that she responds so sweetly. I pace in my room that night, trying to find a way to rid my mind of my lustful thoughts, but my body betrays me. M

Penelope It has been days since Argent dropped us off at our rental home. The first couple of nights were a little tense because we kept expecting someone to break down our doors. We even slept in the same bed together. However, as the days passed, we both began to loosen up. I still jump when I think I spot a woman who looks like the woman who took us in the distance. But I quickly talk myself down and recover. I don’t think I will ever forget that woman for as long as I live. Argent believes that she might have fled the country after the raid or even went underground because she couldn’t risk being caught. It also helps that Mateo has passed by to hang out with us. Lyria was grateful. The girl loves to cook and bake, especially when she’s stressed out, which means Mateo would leave the house fu

Argent “We still haven’t been able to locate Sebastian. It’s like he disappeared off the face of the earth. We’ve alerted every airport, but none have reported seeing someone that matches his description. Right now, we’re working on retrieving the true flight manifest because the one they used was false.” Mateo hands me a file. “They were good at hiding their evidence. They didn’t even log Sebastian’s flight. However, they didn’t account for other airports logging flights that have passed through. It’s all a matter of finding which one.” I wipe my palm across my jaw and lean back in my chair with an exhausted sigh. “Alright. Is that all?”&

Penelope I woke up alone in bed this morning. Argent was my first, and he left me as if last night didn’t mean anything to him. Okay, so maybe I seduced him, but he didn’t push me away. Lying back on the bed, I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I didn’t know that sex could be so all-consuming. The way Argent’s body molded to mine and the feel of him bringing me to pleasure was like nothing I’ve ever felt before. However, all I feel now is a hollowness inside my heart. Since we met, I’ve felt this connection to Argent, and an urgent need has overwhelmed me. He’s so aloof and broody that even now, I don’t know if he wants me or if I was just a convenient lay. Instead of feeling sexy, I feel unsure and used.&nb

Penelope Argent is worried about me. Over the past week, I’ve woken up with nightmares of what happened, and Argent has been there to hold me, but I can feel his apprehension. It’s been a tense few days with Rogue’s loss and the mess Mateo left behind. Another thing that has me concerned is that Sebastian has been acting cagy lately. Whenever I approach him, he finds any excuse he can to leave the room. I don’t know what’s going on, but now that my head is clear of grief, I plan to get to the bottom of whatever is going on. T

Argent “How is she?” Sebastian asks as he gazes down into Penelope’s slumbering form. After we shot the woman, Penelope seemed to have gone into shock. She just stood there without blinking. Worried, I lifted her in my arms and took her home. She has been asleep for a while, which concerned me at first. It was only when she woke up for a second on the drive over and told me that she was fine but just tired that I was able to breathe again. Lyria cried on the way and joined her in sleep. Her girlfriend, Violet, showed up earlier and began to take care of her. I run my gaze across Penelope’s fragile form with apprehension. Her skin is paler than usual, and her lips are shut tight. She’s lying on the bed in a fetal position, and her hair is strewn around the pil

Penelope My heart thunders in my chest as I approach my front door, and my feet feel heavy as if I’m wading through the sand. Throat tight, I carefully open the door and step inside of the dimly lit room. I blink my eyes, trying to adjust to the low light, and take a couple of deep breaths. When I walk in, the first thing that I notice is that my couch is overturned, and my television is lying face-up on the floor. “Close the door behind you.” The woman’s husky voice permeates the stillness of the room. Goosebumps spread down my back as she makes her presence known from the kitchen doorway. Turning around, I carefully close the door. I wince at the sound of the door’s lock clicking in place. Lips tight, I face the woman. Nothing has changed about her appearance. Her skin is still weat

Argent “Getting in was easier than I expected it to be. Almost too easy.” I tell Nicholas. It would be an understatement to say that our plan to enter Irving’s office was executed well. While we follow the plan, Logan is waiting in a nearby location in case something occurs. He gave us half an hour with the promise that he’d be ready to fight if we didn’t show up within that time frame. I know Logan well enough to know that he means what he says. Either way, the plan seemed to have been going smoother than we expected. Nicholas arrived before me and stationed himself in Irving’s office before I asked to see Irving. When the men questioned me, I told them that Irving called to meet with him but never showed up. &nb

Penelope I didn’t think it was possible to miss someone when they’ve only been gone for hours, but that’s how I feel. I miss Argent. It might be that he finally confessed his love, but I feel like somehow our bond has solidified. I miss waking up next to him this morning. I miss peering down at his slumbering form as I place a gentle kiss on his jaw. The way his lashes slowly flutter open, giving me a view of his magnificent eyes. Or the way his lips arch into a sleepy smile as his hand rises to caress tendrils of my hair. It’s almost a physical ache that threatens to drown me. I never thought that I’d fall in love with someone so deeply. I can’t complain, though, because Argent seems to be as enthralled by our newfound love as I am. He almost seemed reluctant to leave me.

ArgentGrim-faced, everyone steps into my office and takes a seat. Several of the men give Voodoo a wide berth as soon as he sits down. I can see why Sebastian and Phoenix say that the man is odd. There’s just something that screams warning when I look at him. He’s almost stiff and mechanical in his movements. His gaze examines the room until he found a spot that he was comfortable with, and his face remains blank.Logan and I stand in front of the desk and face the men.“I know you’re wondering why you’re here, Voodoo, but please bear with us,” Logan says.Voodoo nods.I lean on the desk and clasp my hands together as I consider how to begin. “First of all, we want to know how familiar you are with Irving?”Voodoo’s head snaps in my direction. “I don’t understand your question.” He mutters in a careful tone. I can see that I put him on alert, and that’s not what I

Violet slumps beside me on the couch and puffs out a couple of breaths. After her class ended, she and Violet came over. “Yeah, and the sandals are gorgeous,” Violet says as she sorts through the sushi boxes they picked up on the way home. I like hanging out with my friends, yet, I can’t help the aching pit of anxiety that opens up in my gut when I think about what’s going on with Argent. I didn’t like seeing the cut and scrapes that he came home with last night, but it’s something that I have to accept if I want to be with him. The men left h

Argent I reach for my phone, and I dial Mateo’s number. Logan signals for me to proceed as soon as he scrambles my location. From Mateo’s point of view, my location will show that I am in L.A. instead of Manaus. “Argent?” Mateo answers quickly. Thankfully, I never confided with Mateo about our mission to assassinate William Kazik. I’m sure that he would have told Irving and jeopardized the whole mission if he had known. The New York branch, Logan and I, agreed to keep our plan as private as possible. The only reason Jaxon’s men are involved is that they all have a personal grievance against Kazik. “Mateo, I just received a call from a local
