Chapter Five

Maria stared at Marvin for a while before deciding to turn around to join her friends. Marvin also made sure that he introduced himself to all the females so he can find her mate immediately. Three hours had past and there was still no sign of her.

“I guess you’ll have to use the aura to find her.” Charlie suggested and Marvin sighed.

He then closed his eyes and gathered his aura on his hands. When he opened them, his eyes were gold and his hands were glowing blue. He then placed both of his hands on the ground and the aura on his hands quickly spread throughout the Earth.

Everyone in the party felt this but none of them became attracted towards him. When a male wolf turns eighteen, his bond would immediately react when they find their mate. 

To the female, they won’t know who their mate is until they turn eighteen but the male can distinguish them before they can know who their mate is.

“She’ll come soon, she won’t be able to resist the aura you just released now.” Charlie stated. 

He was shocked at how strong the aura his Alpha released but at the same time he expected from his Alpha. Everyone else in that party was also frightened by how strong Marvin was but pretends nothing happened.

The party was soon to end yet not a single woman was claimed by Marvin’s wolf. He was expecting to meet her but he already met all the female wolves and none of them was the one.

He gathered his aura again and released them, this showed how desperate he was to meet his mate. The others turned to leave as they were afraid of what’s going to happen next.

James narrowed his eyes on Marvin as he could see how powerful he was but Marlon joined him.

Normally the wolf can only release one aura on their eighteenth birthday but releasing two shows how strong they are hence why James gave Marvin the look earlier because he knew that Marvin can match his strength in the future.

“Do you think he will find his mate?” Marlon asked James.

“He’ll eventually find her, he released two aura after all.” Marlon didn’t see how James gave Marvin a dark look before turning around to get a drink.

"Don't worry Alpha, maybe your mate stayed at home because she was sick. I'm sure you'll meet her one day." Charlie encouraged his best friend and he did not expect Marvin to release another aura. “Oi stop! You’ll drain out your energy soon!” 

At this time, James had a thought of eliminating Marvin but stopped when he saw Marvin fainting on the ground. 

In his eyes, Marvin has the potential to become stronger than him but seeing him faint only shows that his strength is limited and James believes that his strength is unlimited. After all, he did release eleven aura on his eighteenth birthday not to attract his mate, but to show the world how powerful he was.

Charlie rushed towards his Alpha and took him under his arm then called for a nurse. 

“Get me Bianca right now!” Charlie demanded and he didn’t notice that the person he was asking for was beside him.

“You didn’t need to ask for me, I was standing here the whole time.” Bianca said as if she expected this to happen.

The next day, Marivn woke up with a headache and he saw James in his room with his daughter. 

“You're finally awake, I didn’t leave last night because I haven’t said my farewell to you. I hope you find your mate soon and I wish for you to be healthy.” James' words were firm and strong as he takes his leave.

Marvin didn’t get a chance to say a word as his head was still spinning and his body was weak.

"Bye Marvin!" Maria gave him a flirtatious smile before following after her father.

Soon Marvin’s parents came in the room with a worried look.

“You don’t need to speak yet, just take a rest. I already took care of sending James and his daughter home.” His father said and his mother gave him a sad smile.

“I know you will find her soon, just be patient.” 

Phantom Company

"So you didn't find your mate? That's weird." Charlie muttered as Marvin did his paperworks. “Maybe she was really sick.”

Even though Charlie was talking to himself, Marvin could still hear him loud and clear due to the wolf's sense of hearing.

"Just shut up and leave me alone.” Marvin demanded but Charlie didn’t listen.

"Usually the male wolf finds their mate first because the female wolves won't know who their mates are before they turn eighteen. You just turned eighteen and met every female in almost all the packs, especially when you released three auras, how come you didn't find your mate?" He questioned and Marvin sighed while rubbing his temple.

"How should I know? Maybe she belongs to a pack that hasn't been discovered yet." Marvin replied even though he didn’t want to but he thought that this may get his Beta to stop talking.

"That's it! You may be right about that, maybe she's part of a small pack!” Charlie clicked his finger while standing up and clapping his hand. “A pack where no one really cares about them and nobody really knows they exist! Maybe your mate belongs to one of those packs." He stated and Marvin rolled his eyes.

"Just leave me alone, I have lots of work to do." Marvin instructed but seeing as Charlie won’t stop pestering him, he stood up to leave. “I’m going to get fresh air.”

An idea suddenly popped in Charlie’s head and he said in a low voice that Marvin still heard.

"Or maybe that half human breed was your mate? If she is, then you’re gonna have to do option B."

Marvin lead himself into the forest and shifted into his wolf. He did not care where he goes, he just wanted to be alone for a while. As he was running, Charlie’s words repeated as if it’s been implanted in his my brain.

"Maybe she's part of a small pack!"

"A pack where no one really cares about them and nobody really knows they exist."

"Maybe your mate belongs to one of those packs."

Marvin took a shart turn but he didn’t had a grip so he slid sideways and bumped into a tree as he remembered the last sentence Charlie said.

"Or maybe that half human breed was your mate?"

If that was the case, then he won’t be able to accept it as she’s already dead. James had ended her life without a second thought and Marvin wouldn’t be able to accept her anyway because she was half human.

He left out a howl of sadness then return to his office. He then reconsidered what Charlie told him, aside from his mate being the dead propechy, he took a map from his drawer and marked the place where he already met all the female wolves and highlighted the area where packs could be hiding.

If he hasn’t found her at the age of twenty, he will have to go to option B and mate with someone who is not his mate which he doesn’t want to happen as he belives that every wolf has their destined mate whom they should spend the rest of their lives with.

That was the day he decided that he will look for his mate even if it takes him forever to find her. Whoever she is, he know she's waiting for him so he won't just sit around and make her wait for him.
