Chapter Four

"You'll always be welcome here anytime you want." Marvin made sure that he used the right words to avoid offending James.

"Well I was just passing by, came in to say hello and now I'm going to take my leave." James said and Marvin nodded. "I'll make sure to visit you on your special day."

"I am looking forward to it.” Marvin slightly bowed to show respect and James nodded.

As James was about to leave, a blind woman suddenly appeared by the entrance. Marvin was surprised by her sudden appearance and saw James staring at her with curiosity. 

"Who is this?" He questioned.

"We found her injured on our way back here and decided to treat her wounds before sending her off." James answered and he gave me a suspicious look. "Don't worry, she's blind so she won't know anything about us."

After hearing his explanation, James continued walking towards the exit only to stop when the woman called his name.

"James Knight..." James narrowed his eyes towards her as he studied her features.

She has long white hair and her eyes reveal that she’s blind and she looks like she’s in her forties. She was wearing a white, long, simple gown that covered her feet and a wedding ring on her index finger.

"How did you know my name!" James demanded an answer, his tone had some venom in it that other wolves around them started backing away.

"My my, you have killed a lot of innocent wolves, witches and… my husband. Aren't you still satisfied that everyone is afraid upon hearing your name? You being alive is a danger to everyone and you don't know how many enemies are lurking around, waiting to strike you at your weakest state." The woman continued talking and James seemed to have interest towards her.

What probably shocked him the most is that the woman knows about wolves and what he did in the past.

"I know who you are now, you’re a soothsayer. I do not care who my enemies are, I can take them down with my bare hand. I don't even need to use my wolf form to eradicate a whole kingdom." James commented and the woman suddenly started laughing.

"I'm not talking about those enemies, I'm talking about a girl who is bound to kill you one day." The woman stated and James took a step towards her.

"Are you telling me that a girl would be the one to end my life?" James made it sound like it was a joke. "What a joke, not even my strongest enemy can defeat me, let alone a girl."

"She is no ordinary girl, she was born with wolf blood... and human blood. A half human, half wolf breed is going to be the death of you." The woman smiled and James glared at her.

Knowing that her life is in danger, Marvin mind-linked everyone in the room to not meddle with their business.

"What do you take me for? A joke? How can a half human, half wolf girl can defeat a King like me!" James shouted and caused other people to flinch. "Who the hell do you think you are!"

"I am a soothsayer and I am here to tell you about your future."

The woman held her ground and did not show any fear. She even gave the Lycan King a genuine smile.

"And you just wait and see, remember the Blood moon? That was the day she was introduced into this world. She may be a human but that's what makes her special, a rare breed that only appears once every Blood moon to defeat the strongest threat. Once she figures out what she can do, there is no stopping her from killing you." The woman started laughing and this triggered James. “You are not King James! You’re weak just like everybody else!”

"You piece of s***t! Know your place, old woman! You are talking to the Lycan King, the strongest wolf in history! A mere girl ending my life is nonsense!" Was the last word James said before sharpening his nails and taking the poor old woman's heart. 

“My dear sweetheart, we’ll finally be together…” The old woman managed 

"Alpha Brimon, you don't mind if we investigate all of your packs right?"

"Of course not... Alpha Knight."

That was the day when James attacked the other packs without hesitation, killing all the female children without any mercy. Those who are in good terms with his packs were spared and only an investigation was made. 

The other packs disappeared without even having a chance to fight back as they did not know that a war was taking place. 

The news spread like wildfire, even the rogues decided to hide during these times. Many other packs tried to flee but James still tracked them down. 

Not long after, it was said that James finally found a girl that was born as a half human and half wolf.

She was taken to his town and was interviewed there. She claimed that her father was none other than Alpha Milton, a wolf who fell in love with a human after his wolf mate died and she was the fruit of their love.

He leads the Silver pack in a small village and did not expect an attack from the strongest pack in the world.

Having a second mate was a rare thing for the wolf unless the Goddess moon blessed them with another mate, but having a human as your mate is a story that no one ever heard of. 

Everyone knows that your mate should also be a wolf and a human mate is absurd. Milton should have died when his true mate left the world but the Moon Goddess gave him a second chance.

Maybe this was the reason, the Moon Goddess knows everything that James had done so it gave Milton another chance to love so he can bare a child that can stop the countless murder that James had done.

It was obvious that the girl lost her life in an instant and that was the day that everything went back to normal. Milton also died with his packs as James buried them all alive. 

Ever since that day, no one had to worry about the Scarlet packs attacking out of the blue as he had already fulfilled his mission. James informed me that his packs will take a rest but he will surely attend Marvin’s party just like he promised to do so.

The day finally arrived and everything was in place.  Everyone who went to the Gathering and the guests had also started arriving. They all came from different parts of the world just to bring their daughter and hope that they would be my mate.

Knowing about Marvin’s status, a low rank pack would immediately rise to the top when their daughter is chosen to be his mate.

Even James brought his son and daughters to see if his daughter would be the chosen one. Unfortunately, her daughter Maria, was not his mate.

"You'll find your mate eventually." James teased his daughter while patting her head.
