~Nalina Romirez
Everyone deserved to fit in. That's what I always say. For me, I was different than most of the girls at school. Well, I was born with a missing hand. Growing up wasn't easy because I needed help in everything I did. My parents spent alot to have a professional construct an artificial hand for me. It was hard to operate at first but nothing was impossible to achieve.
It was so well built that no one actually realized that it was fake. The only persons aside from my parents that knew was my brother Avantae and closest friend, Kailee. At school I was an introvert and I always liked to keep a low profile. I didn't have much friends and the ones I used to keep weren't real at all. Times like these you can never know who to really trust, even your enemies are more worth trusting than your actual friends.
I didn't like my long hair so I cut it to my shoulder's length. I was a blonde with aqua - blue eyes. Some persons are crazy about their appearance but I wasn't over mine. I would barely look in the mirror as much as my family thinks am the most beautiful girl in this town. I wasn't planning to stay in this place forever. After I finish my academic studies I'll leave and get a good paying job. I wanted a life of my own.
It was the 'wolf gang'.
They were from a pack called 'BitterFang Pack' that I heard was located deep into the woods. No one in class ever messed with them unless they wanted a death wish. They didn't talk much and all of them were built like the hulk. There were a few girls but they were outnumbered by the amount of males present.
It always fascinates me how they transform from human to wolf and vice versa. I took the liberty to research them and turns out they have a leader in their pack. The Alpha. One of the most powerful types of wolves and they were considered very territorial. They also had higher ranked members in the pack but I had never seen them.
And I didn't want to. They were ferocious creatures and these regular wolves were scary enough and just imagine meeting The Alpha. I may shed my skin on the spot.
"Lina, you ok? Your head has been down for a while now", Kailee say as she ran a hand through my hair. She was the depiction of melanin beauty. Beautiful chocolate skin, deep brown eyes, black shiny hair and her personality was beyond incomparable.
"I'm fine", I replied before sitting up and unzipping my jacket.
"I know you are hun, but I still got to check", she stated before taking up her phone. We've been friends since I started at this academy a year ago and I wouldn't switch her for anyone.
"How are my two girls doing?", Avan asked as he took a chair and sat between the both of us. He was tall and had an arm tattoo with his favorite music band on it. His hair was short and black and he had the same color eyes as mine.
"Your girls are fine, but I would be happier if you could buy me a ticket to the concert tomorrow night", Kailee stated as I remembered about the concert. I wasn't a fan of loud music and huge crowds so I told Avan that I wasn't going.
"Ah baby girl, I would but first, a kiss", he replied pushing out his lips to her. I laughed because they were always messing with each other. Kailee only pushed his face away erupting a laugh from him.
The bell rang signaling that it was lunch time and everyone got up except the wolf gang. They always stayed behind until everyone else left. We packed up our stuff and left the classroom. We made our way to the cafeteria and went to the lunch line.
I looked over my shoulder and sure enough the gang was entering the Cafe. It's like they had this strong presence that screamed dominance whenever they entered a room. They never joined the line. Their lunch was always brought to them by one of the chefs.
"So damn presumptuous to have their lunch brought to them everyday", Avan said as he looked at the gang in disgust.
"Exactly, I wish I had that privilege. But I guess they have to do it or turn wolf meat", Kailee stated as she looked at them also.
"I got to admit, the one in the corner is pretty hot".
I looked at her unbelievably as she eyed him like a piece of pizza. The guy she was talking about had short curly hair and brown eyes. He was tall and had a small snake tattoo at his neck.
After collecting our food we went to our spot and take a seat. Our seat was at the back so we were actually looking at the Gang's backs.
"So about the concert now, Lina isn't going so I may have a ticket to spare", Avan say as he looked at Kailee. He wiggled his eyebrows which made me laugh out. I got a few stares but I brushed them off.
"Then it's me and you tomorrow night baby, and I want popcorn and banana smoothies", she replied but I wasn't really paying attention to them. I was more focused on one of the gang members eyeing me. He was eating but his eyes wouldn't leave mine.
"Am going to the bathroom", I say as I got up and left the cafeteria. Why was he looking at me like that? I'm sure I've never seen him stare at me at all. I entered the bathroom and locked the door. My body felt somewhat shaky and I didn't know why.
I washed my face. It was weird whenever I touch something and only one of my hands could feel it. But having an artificial hand doesn't make me any different from a normal person. I knew that if I didn't have this hand I would be bullied. It's something that happens to everyone who was born different.
I fixed my jacket before unlocking the door and walking out. It was so sudden that I couldn't avoid bumping into someone. But not just anyone - it was him. The guy who wouldn't stop staring at me.
"Hi", he say as he held his hand out. His voice wasn't very deep but his figure was frightening. I had never spoken to him before and here I was in his presence. I took his hand slowly experiencing how cold and rough it was.
"I'm Zyair, we've never spoken before", he stated as he held unto my hand. I bit my lip as I looked into his eyes. They had a very faint shade of red and blue. His lips twist into a smirk before he pulled me as my body crashed into his.
"Hey stop!", I say as I pushed him off. I was about to say something else but I saw Avan coming this way.
"Hey, what's your problem?", he said as he pushed me behind him. This was getting too serious. I was scared of what could happen regarding how Avan was glaring at him. No one ever dared to mess with them because I don't think a human can survive fighting with a wolf.
I knew things just got worst when I saw the rest of the gang coming this way.
"Avan, let's go", I say but he wouldn't budge. He was trembling but not from fear, it was from anger.
"I don't care who you are, don't ever touch my sister again. I'm warning you".
And with that he grabbed my hand and pulled me away from them. I heard growls and that's when I walked faster. I don't think things will be the same again.
We may have just started a war.
~Lina"Are you sure you don't want to come to the concert?", Avan asked as he took a seat on the bed."I'm fine, just be careful. I don't want you to get into a fight with a wolf", I say but he just shrugged me off."I'm not scared of them Lin, deep down we all have feelings which means we are mortal. They aren't Gods and no one messes with my sister and gets away with it. He's lucky I didn't punch him".I kept quiet after that. Avan wasn't a hot-head but when it comes to family he definitely can be. When I was younger, before I got my hand that is, I use to get bullied by older kids. It was tragic but he was always there to protect me. I didn't know what I would do without him."So what are you gonna do when am gone? Mom and dad isn't here and I don't want to leave you alone"."I'm not a baby, I can take care of myself. Besides I was planning to watch 'The Wicther Season Two' on Netflix. I'll be fine", I say as he reached out and gave me a hug. He pulled away before leaving the room.
We stopped infront of a large door. I was beyond nervous and scared. I must've entered their territory when I was following after the wolf cub. I knew it was a bad idea. The guy went inside and then made a way for me to enter. I stepped inside the room and suddenly it got heavy. My body started to tremble a bit but I kept my composure. The inside was spacious and there in the center of the room was a large desk and two chairs. On the other side of the room was a pair of black couches and a glass table. Behind the large desk two men were seated. The only one who had my attention was the one without any shirt on. He sat there staring at me as if I had committed a serious crime. His face was serious and well defined with a strong jawline. He had black wavy hair and a pair of deep blue eyes. He had a tattoo across his chest and also a nice set of abs.-wait, what was I doing?!. I averted my eyes mentally slapping myself for staring at him for so long. What had gotten into me?!."Here she
~Lina"You all have a test tomorrow", Mr Stewart stated proudly as everyone including me sighed. His tests were always popping up when we least expect them."Shit, I was hoping to watch the rematch of Germany and Brazil today. Guess not because I have to study", Avan say before releasing a groan. He was so obsessed with football for whatever reason. I didn't like it much because I always get bored whenever I tried to watch it."You're so crazy about football yet you aren't a part of the academy's football team", Kailee stated as she looked at him. I always wondered why he didn't join the team. He was the goal keeper back in high school for his team and he was pretty good at it. He was the only reason I went to the matches because I wanted to support him. "I just didn't want to join it, besides their team already has some good players. You should've seen the match last month, it was insane", he replied as I remembered the match he was begging me to go. As expected, I didn't. The thing
~Alpha Mykel"I don't know when I'll see her again", I stated to my father as I glared at my reflection in the mirror. I have waited for years to find her and I did and now she was gone. My wolf wanted to take over and claim her but I held back. It wasn't the right time. It's been 2 days now since our first encounter and I wanted her in my arms more than anything. I knew she had no idea who I really was to her but I knew she felt the pull. She was beyond beautiful and she was mine. If only it was that simple I would search for her and take her back and never let her go. But I wasn't a psychopath and I always say that things take time. It was really dangerous for her to wander on our territory especially at nights. She claimed she wanted to help a mother wolf which was quite heart warming. The mother wolf was mated to an Alpha but he was abusing her so she ran away with their son. My expression was deadly when she was telling me the story because their was nothing more fucked up than
~LinaI woke up with a throbbing headache. It was a long night and I only got to sleep for a few hours. This was too much to handle. Why were so much things happening in one single week!?. I knew there were wolves but now lycans also existed. It was terrifying and I can't remove the image from my head. The size of it, the way it growled and was ready to come after us. I felt traumatized. After my dad spoke to the Alpha we went inside and head to bed. I saw him again. There was something puzzling going on. When I saw him my body heated up and I felt this pull towards him. I didn't know why. I needed answers but to what? This just doesn't make any sense to me. It felt like we were connected but why?If it wasn't for him, last night we definitely would've become lycan meat. But I'm glad that my father helped that girl even though I sensed something strange about her. I mean, what person would be out in the woods at that time of the night? I was suprised to see her actually obeyed the A
"My babies!".I smiled widely as grandma engulfed both of us in a tight, warm hug. I really did miss her. "We're not babies anymore grandma", Avan said jokingly before we pulled away. The place was still the same as I remembered. The beautiful flowers, the neatly trimmed bushes and ofcourse, the super fresh air. There was just something about Grandma's place that felt comforting."Let's go inside, I redecorated your rooms for you", she said as I heard the slamming of the car trunk behind me. Clyde had taken our bags from the trunk and was carrying them inside the house. I still couldn't get over the fact that he wasn't human. I didn't know if I should ask him about it or let it be. Knowing myself I always wanted to find out more. Was he a wolf and if not, what was he? And if he was a wolf why wasn't he with his pack? I was too curious for my own good but I needed answers. And I was going to get them."Wow, the place really looks different", Avan stated as we entered the house. Grand
~Alpha MykelMy entire office was a raging mess. I couldn't handle the urge and it was driving me fucking crazy. My wolf was restless. We both wanted our mate. Back then when I was mateless I use to have this crave but it wasn't so uncontrollable. I could handle a full moon but that was then. Now, I wanted her in my arms and I wanted to mark her as mine. I growled as I ripped the paintings off the wall. Some unmated wolves satisfy their crave by mating with other unmated wolves but I wasn't one of them. It was only my mate that I wanted and no one else. Only she could satisfy and calm me down. I clenched my fists as I thought about the fact that she wasn't close to me. I went to her house a few days back but she wasn't there. Her scent was long gone. For female wolves they usually feel the crave a few days before the full moon. But my mate was Luna and that meant it was going to be more painful. I could sense that she was in pain especially right now. I heard the door open but I di
~A Few Days Later~~LinaWhy did I have a feeling something bad was going to happen today? But then again, what could be worst than the pain I felt for up to three days straight?. It wasn't even my period because it already came earlier in the month. I was even more confused about what Clyde had said. What did the Alpha have to do with this? I've been on the edge just by that statement alone. He refused to tell me what I needed to know for whatever reason.Back at Grandma's I spent all those three days in bed wondering when the pain was going to end. It eventually stopped late Saturday night but I still felt uneasy. Clyde barely spoke to me those times and to be honest that didn't bother me at all. If he didn't want to tell me what I needed to know it made no sense he exchanged words with me. I decided to sit way at the back of history class today. Mr. Ambrose was our professor and the topic for today was quite intriguing. We were going to learn about supernatural creatures. Maybe af
I woke up feeling drained to my limit. My body felt like it was suffering from paralysis. I groaned as I tried to move my fingers and toes. I had used up all of my energy yesterday. I didn't really want to kill them but I had no choice. It was either them or my pack. The left side of the bed was empty. After I used up all my energy and the dungeon collapsing, I must've fainted because I don't remember much. I could feel Mykel's arms around me all night but I was too drained to even respond. I don't even know how long I've been sleeping for.I didn't want to think too hard but I knew the war was only a taste of what else was to come. There are much more dangers out there. I sat up slowly and rubbed my tired eyes. Mykel's scent was weak which meant he had left much earlier. The pack needs him. We had lost so much members yesterday. Too many to count. I threw the covers off my body and got off the bed. I felt a bit dizzy so I had no choice than to sit back down. I still wasn't sure how
~NALINA~I urged Clyde to drive even faster. Something was wrong at the pack house and it was driving me crazy. I wasn't sure what it was but I feared the worst. It could possibly be an attack and I only know of one person who would do that. Leville. Family had a way of always treating their blood like shit. You can't trust anyone even them because they are the same ones who will betray you. I knew Mykel was an excellent fighter but if Levi did attack them they could possibly be outnumbered. Mykel would urge me to stay away or stay safe but not this time. I wasn't sure what I could do but I had to try something. It's sad to say but if my pack goes down I'll go down with them. "Shit!", Clyde said as he stepped on the brakes and the car came to a quick halt. As much as I didn't want to believe my thoughts, the sight infront of me couldn't be explained any other way. The war was actually happening. There were too many bodies to count both from my pack and the attackers. With shaking ha
MYKEL KNIGHTWhen my father told me he had friends who could help with the war Leville demanded, I didn't expect it to be just five people. They weren't human for sure but I was still expecting a full group. The first guy who seemed to be the leader sat on the opposite side with a stern look on his face. The other two men sat beside him with the same expressions. The two girls present were beautiful but not as beautiful as my mate. My wolf agreed on that thought."Marcus, it's been a while", my father said to the man who only nod. "It has. Why did you decide to contact us after so long?", Marcus said resting his hands on the table. I sat upright in my seat keeping my eyes on the group infront of me. They didn't look that intimidating but looks can be quite deceiving. "I'm not sure if you remembered my brother Leville but he demanded a war on us and we could use a few extra hands", my dad replied but Marcus seemed rather unimpressed. I glanced at the girls and I noticed how the one
All eyes were on me when I entered the classroom. Maybe it was because my grandmother had died or maybe it was my appearance. It was a new me. I got a haircut, a much shorter one. I dyed it in jet black with a few streaks of red. I looked different but has a change ever hurt anyone?.I ignored the stares and took a seat at the back. Avan stayed home today to fill in our parents on everything. I was angry and hurt that they actually hurt my grandma like that. She didn't deserve it and whoever did it will be paying with their lives. As for my eye color it was still the same shade of purple. I didn't know what it meant but I had a feeling it wasn't dangerous. I didn't know anyone who I could ask...if my grandma was still alive she would've told me what it signifies. I grit my teeth at that thought."Miss Romirez, I offer my condolences. Your grandmother was a very sweet woman", my professor Mrs. Greene said before giving me a sympathetic smile.I only nod and returned one and then preten
They always say everything in life happens for a reason. But that's not true. Then what are those reasons when innocent people are abducted or killed? Did those innocent people do a crime and try to cover it up? No one knows and no one will ever know. Lives that are taken can never be replaced. My body was rigid as I sat on the leather couch. My shoulders slumped as I stared out to space. I could feel everyone soothing me or trying to touch me but I couldn't respond. My entire body and mind was elsewhere as different emotions take me over.My Grandma's body was in the kitchen but there was no blood. No signs of a fight or anything to say that she was killed in cold blood. Her body was just on the floor and her eyes were wide open. I still couldn't get the image out of my head. I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that they killed her. They didn't get to me so they went after her. "Miss Romirez, I'm detective Conwell. After inspecting the body some more I found no visible cu
~U N K N O W N~I hummed quietly as I looked at the worthless mutts infront of me. They were not worthy to be in my presence. They had one fucking job and they failed me!. Just get me a witch, that's all I asked and they failed me."W-We are so sorry Alpha, please forgive us", Effie I believe her name is pleaded with me. Daija on the other hand was awfully silent. No tears, no pleading, no begging. I hate that."You failed me. Jace called saying he had a plan and that he would bring her to me. What the fuck happened!", I roared slamming my hand on the mahogany desk. They were testing my patience."Her mate and brother showed up and we fled. You know we aren't strong enough in our panther forms--SILENCE!. You are fucking panthers for christsakes and you let some mutts over power you! I should throw you in the dungeon for this", I retorted glaring at the both of them. "Please don't we didn't mean to fail you. I don't want to go to the dungeons again, please", she begged as tears sprun
I wrapped the towel around my body and exit the bathroom. Mykel was sitting on the bed and when he saw me his eyes darkened. I smiled as I walked up the bed and examined the clothes he picked out for me. Just a pair of shorts and a red shirt.I dropped the towel absent-mindedly and pulled on the pair of shorts. Mykel's eyes never left my body and I knew he wanted to devour me. But this wasn't the time. We have to go to the dungeon to question Jace and the others. I need to know what they wanted with me and who sent them."I wish I could just taste you right now", Mykel said as I felt his hot breath on my neck. My body shivered when his hands snaked around my waist and pulled me into him. I was only half-way through buttoning my shirt so everything was on display."Let me help you with that", he said as he turned me around and started buttoning my shirt. I tried to hide my facial expressions when I felt how hard he was against my abdomen. I bit my lip as I avoided his eyes. God he was
"I don't hear anything", Quinn said as he placed his ear at the door and listened. The place was dead silent. This part of the shop wasn't really easy to find but they should've found us by now."Me either, they're searching for us", I replied as I stood up from my position. I've tried contacting Mykel through the link once more but I couldn't. I didn't get why it wasn't working but all I hoped for was that he gets here soon.I watched as Quinn shuffled back and came beside me. I listened keenly and that's when I hear footsteps coming this way. I swallowed as I pulled him to the far back with our backs against the wall. If they do get in we had nowhere to run to, we were trapped."Princess, are you going to open the door or should I kick it down", I heard Jace's stupid voice said and I grit my teeth."FUCK YOU!", I shouted back as Quinn clung to me even more."Don't worry princess, you'll do that soon enough", was his sadistic reply as I heard laughter. My body was trembling and I tri
~NALINA ROMIREZ~I had this odd feeling that someone was following me. No one seemed out of the ordinary but the feeling wouldn't go away. I left school about half an hour ago and just arrived at the bus stop. I had to walk back to the craft shop because the driver was too busy singing songs that he didn't hear me telling him to let me off. I could see it in the distance but I had to walk for a good five minutes.I glanced over my shoulder but I didn't see any suspicious cars or people. I hate having to always be on the lookout but it was a must for me now. I was a target and I can't forget that. I walked faster trying my best not to bump anyone on the way. Mykel flashed acrossed my mind and I released a groan. I was upset with him. I understand his concern for me but I couldn't possibly lock myself at home everyday. He wasn't happy about me getting a job but I told him I didn't care what he thought. I was only a bit mad at myself for talking to him like that but I wasn't a child. I
