Nalina (Lina) Romirez wasn't your typical nineteen year old. She had a secret that only those closest to her knew about. For her parents, they knew things would be different when their only daughter was born with a missing hand. By the time she was eight she had already mastered the art of operating a mechanical hand. It was so well built that no one could ever tell that it was fake, not even the wolves that went to her school. They were ferocious creatures that no one ever dared to mess with. Their pack (BitterFang Pack) lived deep in the woods and setting foot on their territory was an instant death sentence. Lina has never seen the higher members of the pack nor the Alpha. She didn't care much for them as her only goal was finishing her academic studies and moving out of the town. She wanted a life of her own and she was set on achieving just that. But as they say, destiny brings people together and crossing paths with the reigning Alpha wasn't something Lina had planned for. Not only was he the depiction of strength and dominance, but he also had striking features that couldn't go unnoticed. He knew she was his other half. But Lina wasn't planning on entering their territory again nor crossing paths with the Alpha for a second time. Well, that's what she thought.
View MoreI woke up feeling drained to my limit. My body felt like it was suffering from paralysis. I groaned as I tried to move my fingers and toes. I had used up all of my energy yesterday. I didn't really want to kill them but I had no choice. It was either them or my pack. The left side of the bed was empty. After I used up all my energy and the dungeon collapsing, I must've fainted because I don't remember much. I could feel Mykel's arms around me all night but I was too drained to even respond. I don't even know how long I've been sleeping for.I didn't want to think too hard but I knew the war was only a taste of what else was to come. There are much more dangers out there. I sat up slowly and rubbed my tired eyes. Mykel's scent was weak which meant he had left much earlier. The pack needs him. We had lost so much members yesterday. Too many to count. I threw the covers off my body and got off the bed. I felt a bit dizzy so I had no choice than to sit back down. I still wasn't sure how
~NALINA~I urged Clyde to drive even faster. Something was wrong at the pack house and it was driving me crazy. I wasn't sure what it was but I feared the worst. It could possibly be an attack and I only know of one person who would do that. Leville. Family had a way of always treating their blood like shit. You can't trust anyone even them because they are the same ones who will betray you. I knew Mykel was an excellent fighter but if Levi did attack them they could possibly be outnumbered. Mykel would urge me to stay away or stay safe but not this time. I wasn't sure what I could do but I had to try something. It's sad to say but if my pack goes down I'll go down with them. "Shit!", Clyde said as he stepped on the brakes and the car came to a quick halt. As much as I didn't want to believe my thoughts, the sight infront of me couldn't be explained any other way. The war was actually happening. There were too many bodies to count both from my pack and the attackers. With shaking ha
MYKEL KNIGHTWhen my father told me he had friends who could help with the war Leville demanded, I didn't expect it to be just five people. They weren't human for sure but I was still expecting a full group. The first guy who seemed to be the leader sat on the opposite side with a stern look on his face. The other two men sat beside him with the same expressions. The two girls present were beautiful but not as beautiful as my mate. My wolf agreed on that thought."Marcus, it's been a while", my father said to the man who only nod. "It has. Why did you decide to contact us after so long?", Marcus said resting his hands on the table. I sat upright in my seat keeping my eyes on the group infront of me. They didn't look that intimidating but looks can be quite deceiving. "I'm not sure if you remembered my brother Leville but he demanded a war on us and we could use a few extra hands", my dad replied but Marcus seemed rather unimpressed. I glanced at the girls and I noticed how the one
All eyes were on me when I entered the classroom. Maybe it was because my grandmother had died or maybe it was my appearance. It was a new me. I got a haircut, a much shorter one. I dyed it in jet black with a few streaks of red. I looked different but has a change ever hurt anyone?.I ignored the stares and took a seat at the back. Avan stayed home today to fill in our parents on everything. I was angry and hurt that they actually hurt my grandma like that. She didn't deserve it and whoever did it will be paying with their lives. As for my eye color it was still the same shade of purple. I didn't know what it meant but I had a feeling it wasn't dangerous. I didn't know anyone who I could ask...if my grandma was still alive she would've told me what it signifies. I grit my teeth at that thought."Miss Romirez, I offer my condolences. Your grandmother was a very sweet woman", my professor Mrs. Greene said before giving me a sympathetic smile.I only nod and returned one and then preten
They always say everything in life happens for a reason. But that's not true. Then what are those reasons when innocent people are abducted or killed? Did those innocent people do a crime and try to cover it up? No one knows and no one will ever know. Lives that are taken can never be replaced. My body was rigid as I sat on the leather couch. My shoulders slumped as I stared out to space. I could feel everyone soothing me or trying to touch me but I couldn't respond. My entire body and mind was elsewhere as different emotions take me over.My Grandma's body was in the kitchen but there was no blood. No signs of a fight or anything to say that she was killed in cold blood. Her body was just on the floor and her eyes were wide open. I still couldn't get the image out of my head. I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that they killed her. They didn't get to me so they went after her. "Miss Romirez, I'm detective Conwell. After inspecting the body some more I found no visible cu
~U N K N O W N~I hummed quietly as I looked at the worthless mutts infront of me. They were not worthy to be in my presence. They had one fucking job and they failed me!. Just get me a witch, that's all I asked and they failed me."W-We are so sorry Alpha, please forgive us", Effie I believe her name is pleaded with me. Daija on the other hand was awfully silent. No tears, no pleading, no begging. I hate that."You failed me. Jace called saying he had a plan and that he would bring her to me. What the fuck happened!", I roared slamming my hand on the mahogany desk. They were testing my patience."Her mate and brother showed up and we fled. You know we aren't strong enough in our panther forms--SILENCE!. You are fucking panthers for christsakes and you let some mutts over power you! I should throw you in the dungeon for this", I retorted glaring at the both of them. "Please don't we didn't mean to fail you. I don't want to go to the dungeons again, please", she begged as tears sprun
I wrapped the towel around my body and exit the bathroom. Mykel was sitting on the bed and when he saw me his eyes darkened. I smiled as I walked up the bed and examined the clothes he picked out for me. Just a pair of shorts and a red shirt.I dropped the towel absent-mindedly and pulled on the pair of shorts. Mykel's eyes never left my body and I knew he wanted to devour me. But this wasn't the time. We have to go to the dungeon to question Jace and the others. I need to know what they wanted with me and who sent them."I wish I could just taste you right now", Mykel said as I felt his hot breath on my neck. My body shivered when his hands snaked around my waist and pulled me into him. I was only half-way through buttoning my shirt so everything was on display."Let me help you with that", he said as he turned me around and started buttoning my shirt. I tried to hide my facial expressions when I felt how hard he was against my abdomen. I bit my lip as I avoided his eyes. God he was
"I don't hear anything", Quinn said as he placed his ear at the door and listened. The place was dead silent. This part of the shop wasn't really easy to find but they should've found us by now."Me either, they're searching for us", I replied as I stood up from my position. I've tried contacting Mykel through the link once more but I couldn't. I didn't get why it wasn't working but all I hoped for was that he gets here soon.I watched as Quinn shuffled back and came beside me. I listened keenly and that's when I hear footsteps coming this way. I swallowed as I pulled him to the far back with our backs against the wall. If they do get in we had nowhere to run to, we were trapped."Princess, are you going to open the door or should I kick it down", I heard Jace's stupid voice said and I grit my teeth."FUCK YOU!", I shouted back as Quinn clung to me even more."Don't worry princess, you'll do that soon enough", was his sadistic reply as I heard laughter. My body was trembling and I tri
~NALINA ROMIREZ~I had this odd feeling that someone was following me. No one seemed out of the ordinary but the feeling wouldn't go away. I left school about half an hour ago and just arrived at the bus stop. I had to walk back to the craft shop because the driver was too busy singing songs that he didn't hear me telling him to let me off. I could see it in the distance but I had to walk for a good five minutes.I glanced over my shoulder but I didn't see any suspicious cars or people. I hate having to always be on the lookout but it was a must for me now. I was a target and I can't forget that. I walked faster trying my best not to bump anyone on the way. Mykel flashed acrossed my mind and I released a groan. I was upset with him. I understand his concern for me but I couldn't possibly lock myself at home everyday. He wasn't happy about me getting a job but I told him I didn't care what he thought. I was only a bit mad at myself for talking to him like that but I wasn't a child. I
~Nalina Romirez Everyone deserved to fit in. That's what I always say. For me, I was different than most of the girls at school. Well, I was born with a missing hand. Growing up wasn't easy because I needed help in everything I did. My parents spent alot to have a professional construct an artificial hand for me. It was hard to operate at first but nothing was impossible to achieve. It was so well built that no one actually realized that it was fake. The only persons aside from my parents that knew was my brother Avantae and closest friend, Kailee. At school I was an introvert and I always liked to keep a low profile. I didn't have much friends and the ones I used to keep weren't real at all. Times like these you can never know who to really trust, even your enemies are more worth trusting than your actual friends. I didn't like my long hair so I cut it to my shoulder's length. I was a blonde with aqua - blue eyes. Some persons are crazy about their appearance but I wasn't over mine
