Her shoulders relaxed as they let go of their tense state. Not having anything else in mind other than doubt and conflict she slipped out of the bed and headed for the restroom. But she didn’t leave before giving another complicated look towards the bed.
Unlike back at her house where the whole family shared a single washroom, in this mansion, every room had its separate one.
‘Quite the luxury if someone were to ask me.’
She sipped into it pulling the door and splashed some water on her face at the washbasin. Her eyes fell on her reflection in the mirror.
Her long hair flowed like a river on her shoulders and her long eyelashes were enough to make her friends jealous. But alas her long eyelashes were the only feature she took pride in. Other than that her facial features were pretty average. She had beautiful structured lips but they were a little pale but she managed with lipstick. But unlike her bestie, her face wasn’t chiselled.
That was not to say that she wasn’t tall. She had a model height of 5’8’’ but alas her curves don’t stand out much.
“Am I not pretty enough? Is that why he was not interested?” She couldn’t help but feel a bit insecure. Her supposed groom was damn insensitive and did not even care about her turmoil.
Even if she was considered pretty average in her appearance she had never felt insecure before. Her parents and a certain someone had always treated her as if she were a beautiful angel.
Evelyn sighed as she looked down. For some reason, she was staring at the base of the washroom. Her mood was down and so was her head.
It was then…
A strange circle with strange geometrical shapes around it appeared below her feet. It had the mark of the sun at the dead centre.
Her eyes shot wide.
“What is this?”
She had never seen something like this before. She blinked rapidly hoping that it would disappear the next moment and was just her delusion. But unlike her expectations, the circle only shone brighter and brighter with a golden hue.
She stepped back out of fright.
*Bam*
Her back collided with something in this air. She felt herself colliding with an invisible barrier. For some reason, she couldn’t get outside of the circle!
“Help!” She screamed but there was no one to respond. It was as if her voice itself couldn’t pass that very barrier.
Today was not a good day. She was a series of negative experiences one after the other. From nervousness to sadness and now it had turned to pure fear! She screamed and cried for help but to no avail.
The lights grew brighter and brighter as slowly it wrapped her up. She couldn’t even see her own lower body.
*Bam* *Bam* *Bam*
She began hitting the barrier with her hands as if she was heavily knocking on a closed door. She gave it all of her strength but the barrier didn’t collapse.
“Help!” She was in tears, she was scared but to no avail. The whole golden light wrapped her up to the very brim! As the light reached her eyes she realized how intense its glory was. Its very intensity caused her to lose consciousness.

*Sprinkle*
Water was sprinkled on her face probably to wake her up.
“Mhm,” she squeaked. It was indeed a sprinkle and not the bucket of water that her mother is used to pouring on her. She had always been a heavy sleeper.
She rubbed her eyes.
“Please Mom a little bit more,” she whispered but then the deep voice of man resounded in her ears.
“Your mom is not here, Evelyn” His voice, though deep and coarse, was sweet at the same time.
‘Steve?’ she thought. ‘Yes, I got married and all, aren’t I?’
Last night was so uneventful that she had forgotten that she actually got married.
Evelyn opened her eyes to have a look at his face but to her horror, it was someone else! He had a mask on him with the mark of a circular hole in the mask over one eye and a crescent-shaped hole on the other. He had brown skin and he was wearing a black shirt.
She turned around to have a look and she found herself lying on the floor of a ballroom. A chandelier hanging above. Some distance away there was even a buffet for the guests. The ballroom had majestic windows that went up to a few feet and also well decorated with wall with air conditioners lining up cooling the room.
But that was not all.
“Oooooooooooooooowhoo!!!”
“Woohooooooo”
She turned around only to have her eyes shoot open. The drowsiness from her sleep was completely gone as she was on high alert.
She saw men changing into wolves as they made howling sounds. They couldn’t contain their happiness anymore and their inner wolves had taken over them as they howled to their joy.
Her besties words resounded in her mind once again.
‘All men are the same. They are wolves in sheep’s skin’
Is that what she meant by that? Evelyn thought. She had always felt that it had a symbolic meaning rather than a physical one!
“Werewolves?” she whispered. Her face was panic-stricken and endowed with awe all at the same time. What were werewolves to her? Fantasy creatures? But according to the dictionary fantasy should not be reality. If they are fantasy creatures, why do they exist!
It was then that another man neatly dressed in a white shirt behind him came forward.
“Congratulations Alpha Ken, the summoning was successful. You have shown again how much of a boon you are to the werewolf race.”
“Indeed it was,” Though he did reply to the man, he was disrespectful in a way. As he was by no means moving his gaze away from Evelyn. It was as if it was stuck on her wanting to suck her in.
The other man frowned only for it to disappear at the next moment as he shrugged.
Evelyn’s gaze switched between the two men. She couldn’t make head or tails of the situation. A long line of questions came to her head. Where was she? What were these people? How was she here? She thought deep… she thought hard trying to recollect how she had got to this forsaken place. ‘Yeah, the last thing that I remembered was that weird circle. That dude in a white shirt talked about summoning. Don’t tell me…’ Even if she had discerned it correctly she could not believe her own reasonings! By no means it was easy for her to believe all of this. The man in the white man signalled a wolf behind him. As if by some magic he turned back to a human as particles of white light shined from his body. He pulled out a sword from somewhere as he looked at Evelyn with a sight of scorn.
*Cough* Ken cleared his throat as he was about to put forward his point. “Everyone, as I had promised you. I have summoned the girl. And let me promise you that I more than anyone else want my pack and the werewolf race to prosper. Therefore we must use all cards possible and use every means available to bring down the humans and take back what is rightfully ours. We must be able to rise to the day when the moon shines on the land and we can proudly stand and say that we rule these lands and the humans are our subordinates, a lower race. That is why I implore you to support my cause.” Stevan got up, removing his sword from Evelyn’s neck. Evelyn could take a breath of fresh air as she realized that her life had been extended. A few years at best and a few minutes at worst. She wanted to cry but she choked her own
After a while, she found herself locked up behind the bars as those guards left the place. *Crash* There was a werewolf at the opposite side of her cell along the long corridor. He was an inmate just like her and he was smashing his head hard against the bars trying to get himself out of there. He was in wolf form of course. The horrid side that he painted made her gasp. He was bleeding from the head with a lot of blood spilling on the cell bars as well. His injuries seemed to be healing fast and as soon as they did he crashed his head again at those bars. *Crash* ‘Am I going to be like that?’ Evelyn bit her lips thinking that now that she was inmate herself she can be reduced to such a state. But she shook her head the
Evelyn stepped back in fear as she shook her head. For all she knew was that Ken was amongst the werewolves. “No…,” She shook her head as tears started welling up in her eyes. What does he want of her now? Does he want to kill her already? Such thoughts ran across her mind. She was surrounded by dark walls on all sides and if Ken attacked her there would be no escape for her. But Ken didn’t move. Who knew what kind of expression he was making? For his face was covered with a mask. All that Everlyn could discern was that his legs didn’t move. He stood like a statue. “Evelyn…,” he whispered under his breath, not wanting anyone to hear it. His voice was like a mouse unnoticed and unheard. *Tap* *Tap*
Evelyn opened her eyes. The sight of Maya stretching herself came into her eyes. Maya too noticed her burning gaze.“Oh, you are awake?” She smiled as she said. Somehow her smile was able to cool Evelyn’s heart which had been in turmoil ever since yesterday.Evelyn nodded. It was then…*Tring* *Tring*A voice as if a bell ringing entered their ears.Evelyn looked left and right in horror. What kind of alarm was this? Was her life in danger?“Ah, you woke up at a nice time indeed,” it’s lunchtime. She sipped out of the cell opening the gates.Turned
*Rustle* The room was lit up by dim lamps giving it a majestic and romantic touch. The bed was laden with fresh rose petals of the highest quality. There were still fresh so much so that Evelyn could smell its scent without even sniffing in the air. And at the edge of this rose laden bed sat Evelyn curled up … nervous. Her lips pursed from time to time as the uncertainty in her heart crept up to her brains. Yes, she was the bride of today’s marriage. Today was her day to celebrate and she was waiting dressed in her white bridal dress that flowed to her very knees. She was waiting for her groom. The bed was huge to her who had ever so slept on a single bed to date. It was large enough such that five of herself could fit in it. The bedsheets were soft and had the texture of the highest quality. It felt like if she
