*Cough*
Ken cleared his throat as he was about to put forward his point.
“Everyone, as I had promised you. I have summoned the girl. And let me promise you that I more than anyone else want my pack and the werewolf race to prosper. Therefore we must use all cards possible and use every means available to bring down the humans and take back what is rightfully ours. We must be able to rise to the day when the moon shines on the land and we can proudly stand and say that we rule these lands and the humans are our subordinates, a lower race. That is why I implore you to support my cause.”
Stevan got up, removing his sword from Evelyn’s neck. Evelyn could take a breath of fresh air as she realized that her life had been extended. A few years at best and a few minutes at worst. She wanted to cry but she choked her own words. She didn’t dare to speak with her soul being pierced by 35 alpha werewolves and many more. Everyone looked at her with scorn as if she was the evilest existence on the whole planet!
“Who all wish to vote for Alpha Ken’s cause please raise your arms.” The man named Steven spoke. He had an air of seriousness around her as if he had shouldered an important responsibility.
The werewolves usually don’t have a way to go about things in this way. It went against their natural ways. They formed packs and followed the lead of the alpha werewolf. There was no voting possible. That was the werewolf's nature. But the threat that was looming on them from the humans had made them slightly curb and change their methods so that they could make more effective strategies. Turns out packs coming together and wage wars with the humans wasn’t enough to defeat those crafty fiends. They needed to employ proper strategies and this was the best way to come to an agreement.
All the alphas are invited to this congregation hall whenever something involves the wellbeing of the entire werewolf race. And such votes were held to decide on a proposal even though it was not in their nature to work this way.
Steven himself raised his hand as if he supported Alpha Ken’s cause. That gave the motion some major weight.
Followed by him 30 more Alphas from different packs raised their hands. Ken sighed a breath of relief as he finally raised his own hand. He had been tensed. What would happen if he lost the majority? He couldn’t even fathom! But thanks to his verbose proposals he had won by a huge majority!
“As the majority goes for the motion, we will act on Ken’s proposal,” Stevan claimed. Stevan was the Alpha of one of the greatest packs among the whole werewolf race. Situated in the north, away from the humans it had the most opportunity to prosper. So Steven’s words had a lot of weight. No one would go against it for now.
Evelyn could finally sigh a breath of relief but even her breaths choked at the intense stare. With the motion being in favour of her she could at least ensure that she would live.
Ken beckoned to his beta. He brought along a pair of chains. Seeing them Steven realize that he had prepared for this all along.
‘Did he think of this from the very beginning?’
“Smart kid,” he whispered.
Ken took hold of the chains and walked towards Evelyn. His elegant steps were for every alpha to watch. The capture of Evelyn for them was no laughing matter.
“No… Please move away from me.” She squeaked but all Ken did was hold onto her hands. Unlike Steven he was not harsh, his touch was warm as if he was not detaining her but taking her on a date instead.
His touch was enough to break off all of her resistances. She wasn’t screaming anymore but only dead staring in his eyes as his face was covered with a mask. She felt a sense of filial spice in it. But probably out of all of them only Evelyn realized this as he chained his hands with the lock.
She looked into his eyes. One of them had a crescent-shaped pupil as if it was the shape of the moon and the other one had the sun’s shape. She hadn’t seen such eccentric eyes ever before in her life! And top it off his eccentric mask. But there was something about them that drew her to it. Especially the right one which had the mark of the sun.
“Take her to the cell,” Ken said as he got up. “With this everything is settled. Humans would never know when their land was swept off their feet.”
“Owwooooo!” Someone who had turned into a wolf howled out of joy.
‘Does the demolition and destruction of humans excite them to such an extent?’ Evelyn thought but she could only wonder as she stared at them with adept attention. And why would she not? These were mythical creatures. They were werewolves!
Two of these similar werewolves that didn’t seem to be among the Alphas pulled her along with her chain. They left through the same door that she was trying to escape from.
“Where are you taking me?” she resisted but all for nought. These werewolves were much stronger than ordinary humans.
“Shut up and follow!” He smashed her back with a whip. “If not for your value, I would have killed you off myself and fed you to the cattle!”
“Ugh” it was then she realized that her sufferings hadn’t come to an end. All of them wanted to kill her yet they were holding back for some reason.
How much of a predicament she was in? The answer was probably out of her reach. The whip had caused a stinging pain to run through her back that was unlike anything else. She definitely didn’t want another one like that so she quietly followed without making any other cry of protests.
After a while, she found herself locked up behind the bars as those guards left the place. *Crash* There was a werewolf at the opposite side of her cell along the long corridor. He was an inmate just like her and he was smashing his head hard against the bars trying to get himself out of there. He was in wolf form of course. The horrid side that he painted made her gasp. He was bleeding from the head with a lot of blood spilling on the cell bars as well. His injuries seemed to be healing fast and as soon as they did he crashed his head again at those bars. *Crash* ‘Am I going to be like that?’ Evelyn bit her lips thinking that now that she was inmate herself she can be reduced to such a state. But she shook her head the
Evelyn stepped back in fear as she shook her head. For all she knew was that Ken was amongst the werewolves. “No…,” She shook her head as tears started welling up in her eyes. What does he want of her now? Does he want to kill her already? Such thoughts ran across her mind. She was surrounded by dark walls on all sides and if Ken attacked her there would be no escape for her. But Ken didn’t move. Who knew what kind of expression he was making? For his face was covered with a mask. All that Everlyn could discern was that his legs didn’t move. He stood like a statue. “Evelyn…,” he whispered under his breath, not wanting anyone to hear it. His voice was like a mouse unnoticed and unheard. *Tap* *Tap*
Evelyn opened her eyes. The sight of Maya stretching herself came into her eyes. Maya too noticed her burning gaze.“Oh, you are awake?” She smiled as she said. Somehow her smile was able to cool Evelyn’s heart which had been in turmoil ever since yesterday.Evelyn nodded. It was then…*Tring* *Tring*A voice as if a bell ringing entered their ears.Evelyn looked left and right in horror. What kind of alarm was this? Was her life in danger?“Ah, you woke up at a nice time indeed,” it’s lunchtime. She sipped out of the cell opening the gates.Turned
*Rustle* The room was lit up by dim lamps giving it a majestic and romantic touch. The bed was laden with fresh rose petals of the highest quality. There were still fresh so much so that Evelyn could smell its scent without even sniffing in the air. And at the edge of this rose laden bed sat Evelyn curled up … nervous. Her lips pursed from time to time as the uncertainty in her heart crept up to her brains. Yes, she was the bride of today’s marriage. Today was her day to celebrate and she was waiting dressed in her white bridal dress that flowed to her very knees. She was waiting for her groom. The bed was huge to her who had ever so slept on a single bed to date. It was large enough such that five of herself could fit in it. The bedsheets were soft and had the texture of the highest quality. It felt like if she
Her shoulders relaxed as they let go of their tense state. Not having anything else in mind other than doubt and conflict she slipped out of the bed and headed for the restroom. But she didn’t leave before giving another complicated look towards the bed. Unlike back at her house where the whole family shared a single washroom, in this mansion, every room had its separate one. ‘Quite the luxury if someone were to ask me.’ She sipped into it pulling the door and splashed some water on her face at the washbasin. Her eyes fell on her reflection in the mirror. Her long hair flowed like a river on her shoulders and her long eyelashes were enough to make her friends jealous. But alas her long eyelashes were the only feature she took pride in. Other than that her facial feat
Evelyn’s gaze switched between the two men. She couldn’t make head or tails of the situation. A long line of questions came to her head. Where was she? What were these people? How was she here? She thought deep… she thought hard trying to recollect how she had got to this forsaken place. ‘Yeah, the last thing that I remembered was that weird circle. That dude in a white shirt talked about summoning. Don’t tell me…’ Even if she had discerned it correctly she could not believe her own reasonings! By no means it was easy for her to believe all of this. The man in the white man signalled a wolf behind him. As if by some magic he turned back to a human as particles of white light shined from his body. He pulled out a sword from somewhere as he looked at Evelyn with a sight of scorn.
