Chapter 25 Replaced

Enzo was stunned. It felt as though a nuclear bomb had just landed in front of him and was about to detonate. It took long for him to actually take it in and process it. Caiden had to be kidding.

He angrily remarked, "You can't fucking do this. Caiden, our friendship dates back to our early years. My dad used to work for your dad, and I currently work for you. I can make amends and we can start afresh."

He turned his back on his best friend and stated icily, "Yes I can do it and I have done it. Nate will be ruling the pack alongside me as the beta from now on. You no longer work with me."

Enzo looked at the clerk, who was unable to look him in the eyes, and lowered his head. Enzo was aware that Caiden's choice was the biggest source of embarrassment for him.

He wouldn't give up lightly, though.

"Are you putting an office clerk in my place now?" It was clear from his expression that he was offended. "You're replacing me with a fucking stranger?"
